Meta Puzzle Finale--Bring All Clues!

Recommended Posts

maybe I am giving them too much credit.... probably not. Everything seems to have some many multiple answers, my gut says when someone figues out the answer it will be obvious. With that said, there seems to some connection with the hardee mississippi and a civil war writer named laura elizabeth lee battle. If you follow the (how dare me) google links (http://search.live.com/results.aspx?mkt=en-us&q=hardee+mississippi+4+gates&FORM=TBHT) you find a MS Live Search link that brings you to a picture of her (second from right) click on it. You can get a link to her book there and of course if you go to the search box at the top..... LOKI has a link..... Nothing more yet, but wait till you see what it shows... (docsouth.unc.edu/church/tanner/tanner.xml) Still reading.

OK...

When you go to the live maps area of hardee there are two specific views where in red letters Issaquena appears, issaquena is a anagram for AQUA SINES, so i look for latin words for water that start with an I.

In the list i found a word for water that means a part of. and clicking in my head was #4 saying she is tired of being 1/4th.-- ictus , a, um, Part., from ico.

the word was ictus, and thats what i had put 10 mins ago but now im torn between ictus and ibis

So...

If I understand correctly, we all think its

Lorelei (although spelling is perhaps an issue of contention)

Odessa

Kara

And now the final name is "I" something...

I'm looking at the co-ords and have "plus minused" everything (ie: up is +Y down is -Y, right is +x left is -x) and gotten x= 1582.89 Miles and y= -304.48 miles...

Using Pyth-theorem to figure out the hypotenuse gives 1611.908441 miles... which is 2594.11447 kms... from Mystery Spot to Hardee its around 2877.66km... surely this is too far... along that line however (between mystery spot and hardee at very close to 2594.11km is a town called Ida... sigh... (link at bottom of this email is my, messy, playing with trig...)

Now, in the spirit of the game, I personally like the thinking behind the Hardee -> anangram to Hedera -> Ivy... and while I know the map is of Hardee, the numbers don't add up... can someone tell me my math is wrong or something...?

I'm having trouble reconciling the clues...

Hardee's is a fast food chain in the US and they have franchises in Hong Kong as well.

Wiki: "On December 27, 2006, it has been reported by mainstream media that Hardee's will cease to operate in Hong Kong due to problems with franchising rights."

It vanishes?

So what's the connection with Latin?

No Question mark?

"what, is, my, name"

Could it be MY name?

WHAT as her

The syntax is weird.

Do the names need to be in specific order. LOKIV video: 3 of the four lokis are crossing their legs to their right. The third crosses (the one with the copy of Herodotas) to her left. They speaking the order of 2.42132141234124"10" [ten is the sum or the order when the speak together] in the video why include V in loki when refering to loki over the course of the game? bird of paradise is still floating out there? 5 points

I think we should rethink how we answer her question for the video. which is "what is my name?" not "what, is, my, name"

"what, is, my, name" is a riddle...

I don't think the answer is as simple as naming all four solves to the Meta puzzle, there has to be a tie in or twist.

Any thoughts?

Yep, thinking the same things... but I think that the four names must be the "starting point" of the puzzle...

what the vanishing point is... hmmm...

what, is, my, name

lorelei, odessa, kara, ivy

combine, extract, codify, uncodify...

Just thinking out loud...

does any one recognize a phonetic alphabet in these?

but the would put us back at LOKI? or maybe we need to change the alphabet

I agree, I'm gonna repeat my own words ...

"Also I don't know how much thinking to put on the name thing, if the answer is just the personal name for

each sister, excuse my french :-) that would be such a stupid final for an excellent and challenging game

that had hundreds of folks around the world working together."

In the other thread I posted an idea, what if what we are getting are additional clues, names, codenames, etc,

pointing us to new features in Vista ? ... after all this is a marketing campaign remember ?

My .02

Could the "what, is, my, name" represent each of the 4 saying one word?

Then "my" would be asking for the 3'd speakers name only. Probably not,

on the video they all ask it together.

The name of the video "loki_v_40_22_1_0_1.wmv", could very well mean something.

so, I took the word Hardee and put it into the latin dictionary and got back

hardee

harum : (fem. plur. gen.) The city wall had four OF THESE (gates).

Heniis Harniis : Hames.

So i put in "the city wall had four OF THESE (gates) in MSN search field and the first return was

HEAVEN

http://www.biblia.com/heaven/city.htm

-----------------------------------------------

The only issue with this is that it's not using the context of each name...

lorilei, odessa, kara, ???

So, if there is a fourth LATIN name that starts with I (which I'd imagine there is), I'd think there is a pattern to scramble all of the names together to get one word: the answer

what, is, my, name

4, 2, 2, 4 ???

anyone?

Done the map several times and its 99% Hardee, and I believe that the Hardee to a latin anagram is fits the best, so I'll go with Ivy for the last name...

Not sure if this is helping the puzzle/solve any, but I think that given the puzzle themes, and the "get up" of the sisters in the final video (lokiv) each sister is left to right in the video so...

1st is Kara - Mathmatics - time peice (measurements)

2nd is Ivy - Stage Arts - magic cane

3rd is Odessa - History - book

4th is Lorelei - folklore - not holding anything 'intangible stuff'

Kara is maths? - clock/time/measurements - clue to get her name was binary

Odessa is history? - book she has - sheild is a "history type thing"

Lorelei - folklore...? - murmuring rock angle - "I love that story" about the seven brothers tale

Ivy - stage arts??? how why? Mystery Spot... is fairly "sensational" and possibly bogus, so maybe... but I'm grasping at this stage...

No idea where I'm going with this... :)

Hmmm... well... if it is heaven... that would certainly clear up the miscreant clue "physical presence not required" - ie you don't have to die... :D

Ok last shot. I can't spend any more time thinking about this Puzzle.

Current and last theory.

Loreley = ROCK > soil, ground, earth

Odessa = WATER> sea

KARA = AIR > strictly phonetical relation, could not find any historical correlation

IVY = PLANT >botanical and biological life

When I think ROCK,WATER,AIR, PLANTS I relate it to Mother Earth the Ecosphere.

Or

GAIA, or GAEA

I chose to ride with GAEA, only because of the Hard(E) (as in panGAEA) thoery and the (ae) form the puzzle box 4 screen shots.

A 4 letter word to describe the begining of all human history and activity. Also, what the winner of the Flight to space will get a 3-4 minute peek of.

I wish the best of luck to everyone. I can not sustain the time or energy to contribute content to our fun little community,

cheers, good luck, and happy hunting.

    • Exciting! It’s amazing how hearing Japanese can naturally enhance the perceived quality of any experience or product.
    • Your other comment in another article says otherwise, namely "Microsoft veteran wants to replace every single line of C/C++ code with Rust and AI".
    • Sued and... exonerated. Oh, they learned a lesson alright. They learned that anyone who uses the word "antiturst" in conjunction with "Microsoft" is an idiot, even if that person is Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson. That judge ruined the image of the US justice system. Microsoft Edge has a 5.14% market share. Also, Windows is no longer the #1 OS. None of this constitutes a monopoly. Google Chrome, however, has 70.25% share. Also, Google's Android is the #1 OS. Now that's closer to a monopoly.
