Grand Theft Auto IV

I was just thinking of stuff I'd like to see in GTAIV, one of which would be some kind of mp3 player in game, so you could listen to the radio outside of the cars and such...

Was thinking about something similar ever since GTA3 and especially GTA Vice City . I sometimes drove around just to hear a song 'till the end and wished I could hear music outside vehicles. An mp3 player would be great. Let's wait and see what that phone in GTA4 can do ...

It's an iPhone! :woot:

Haha just kidding. If it were an mp3 player as well it would probably be a Sony Ericsson. Or heck, it might just be a generic phone of their own creation. :laugh:

I'm really excited about this game though. It should be extremely fun. Everything they've changed has been an improvement, and it really looks like they're doing an excellent job.

It will probably be a lookalike and have a 'similiar' name of a real phone :p

You can already do that with the Xbox 360 since you can stream music off the HDD and/or your computer. So, it's already built-in on the Xbox 360 side. I'm guessing the devs would need to provide some sort of support for it in the game itself to enable similar functionality on the PS3, however.

Id rather have an ingame mp3 player - having to open the sideboard(?) everytime I want to listen to another album will be a pain in the *** - especially since it can get real slow sometimes :/

I forgot about that, but listening to the ingame radio would need some support.

Yea, I hope so!

Yeah, the second player had no abilities whatsoever :/

But it was better than no coop

You DO know the X360 controller has the exact same buttons as a PS3 controller, right?

Triangle = Y

Circle = B

X = A

Square = X

R1 = RB

L1 = LB

R2 = RT

L2 = LT

PS Button = Xbox button :p

Select = Back

Start = Start

d-pad/analog/etc are the same.

No missing buttons..

I hope Sony gets their new rumble controllers out in time for Rockstar to put it in..

well i can see it now with the 360 but back in the xbox/ps2 days, gta on ps2 > gta on xbox

:blink: The Xbox controller was virtually the same. Just change the LB and RB button to white and black.

Rockstar knows how to make games without running a cheesy beta ala Bungie and EA.

Yes, Bungie, who have broken records with Halo, have no clue how to make a game. :|

But Rockstar would never release a beta, And I don't think it should become the norm. I want to wait until it's finished to play it.

what is cheesy about making sure your game runs smooth when you really release it instead of bringing out an update that will fix issues afterhand...

It's a promotional thing more than anything. EA said the beta would help them make BF2142 better. Did it? No.

Will the Halo 3 beta help anything? We'll have to wait and see. They never fixed the other Halos properly so why would this beta change that?

Rockstar has broken more records than Bungie so don't start comparing them on that level.

Okay guys im hoping that one of you can help me come to a very important decision.

I, like everyone else who owns a gaming console, will end up buying GTA 4 or GTA 4: Special Edition.

As of yet thou, I don't have a PS3 or a XB380... and to tell the truth, this is the game that will make me decide which one to buy.

Now what I want to know is, from ANY information you guys have, which one should I go for? PS3 or XB 360??!!!

I know the XB version has 'downloadable content', but from what im guessing, this so called content will either be allready available on the blueray PS3 version or available as well via sony's @HOME service...

Basically I just want THE VERY BEST GTA 4 experience I can get, I just dont know which one to get...

or if anyone can PM me Rockstar North's email adress so I can ask them myself, that would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think it's a promotional thing at all, halo3 isn't exactly unknown. And I am guessing they need to test the netcode and such and how the game runs on Xboxlive.

I didn't compare them. I just think it's obvious they can make a good game.

I think, to be honest, both consoles will get an amazing game. You won't really miss out on either of them. Though I do believe they are both getting exclusive content. What you really need to decide is which console suits you. Personnally I favour the 360, because I think it's much more rounded, and cheaper than the PS3. But then again if you need a blu-ray player then the PS3 that would justify part of the price.

    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.

    • VirtualBox 7.2.10 by Razvan Serea VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
    • Interesting read. I knew the adware was quite controversial at the time, however never realised to the point The Guardian wrote an article about Patchou. I just said no and enjoyed his creation, I’d probably be a lot more wary of something like that today though.
