The Evil Overlord Share Posted October 5, 2013 If you have a ps3 you can then fold with it. The ps3 is currently the most efficient folding machine. oh, is that what that option was.... I left it alone as I didn't understand what it was or what it did. I'll have to go and check next time I'm using it

And can you crunch on GPU with the extension?

+jamesyfx Subscriber² Share Posted March 23, 2014 Yeah you can't fold on a PS3 anymore, it got terminated in 2012.
MightyJordan Share Posted March 23, 2014 Getting back into folding now with the Chrome app; hoping to climb back up the group rankings. :) It's going a hell of a lot quicker on my PC than from what I remember with the PS3. :P
crazzy88ss Share Posted May 10, 2015 Bump. Looks like we still got about 10 active members. 1 Share
Steven P. Founder Share Posted February 15, 2018 Back in after a long hiatus (2011 incase it has updated) How can we see active members? Owait I see 12 active CPUs in the last 50 days, guess that's how you see, our overall team rank is quite good at 575 of 227622 1 Share
+Zagadka Subscriber² Share Posted March 10, 2018 Does F@H still cause excess heat buildup? Haven't used it in... 15 years? But it gets real hot in here.

crazzy88ss Share Posted March 23, 2020 Back from the dead... for Coronavirus19. This article says Folding@Home is helping to fold proteins for Covid-19. I reinstalled the F@H app, but I don't see any new options to fold specifically for it. https://foldingathome.org/2020/03/15/coronavirus-what-were-doing-and-how-you-can-help-in-simple-terms/ Does anybody else have any ideas? You can configure the types of diseases you want to fold for at web control, but as you can see it is limited with the app prioritizing types automatically. Chris (fezmid in the folding group and Neowin reporter) told me that if your GPU is being used to fold, that is most likely Corona related, and I have done a few of these already. neufuse Veteran Share Posted March 23, 2020 is anyone able to get a workload? I haven't been able to get any.... so basically just have folding running idle for days.... just keeps saying "Failed to get assignment from '18.218.241.186:80': No WUs available for this configuration" but the IP keeps changing

crazzy88ss Share Posted March 27, 2020 I've been seeing posts on various forums stating that they've had an explosion of donors with no change in supply of work units. If you look at our own group, we went from 0 to 251 donors. I think at our peak 5-7 years ago, we were only averaging 10-15 a day. https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=55186
Fezmid Reviewer Share Posted April 12, 2020 Pro-tip: Folding at Home doesn't automatically start when you reboot, so make sure you configure it to do so, or manually start it up after a reboot! Our number of users has skyrocketed, but active users are dropping like a rock for this reason I think.... (bad form by the Folding team, in my opinion - make it an option!)
