|OFFICIAL| Halo 3 Beta Blowout

That is exactly what I do, read it and weep.

MillerGDraft said someone must have died alot for you guys to get those high scores so quickly. Well, guess who that was.

Of course you have to include my worst game!!

My best game by far was the Team Neutral Bomb that bangbang was part of. As sad as it may sound, if you check the Carnage, I believe that was the first game I was in the plus.

Seriously though I suck at the free for all, but I consider myself a semi-decent player when there is a team goal in mind.

the team bomb game was alot of fun, great times!

We played well in that game. I forgot what it's like playing with people who are willing to listen to me. Besides that one slip up where we let them into the base, that strategy of balancing the offense and defense worked well.

Yea, that definitely worked out well. Every team game needs someone to just take over and either assign tasks or at least suggest a plan of action, like you did. You got us going and then people volunteered for jobs (and actually stuck to them) and I think that's why that game was so enjoyable.

Hopefully we can get another one of those games going sometime soon, a BTB neowin match.

I will probably be on later tonight if anyone is interested.

Yeah, that was a fun one. That's the only time I've played that mode. It's much more fun than the one bomb one where each team takes turns.

I'm still sucking at this game, but who cares, I'm having fun. Still, I die about 2x more than I kill :p

UND3RxOATH and I had a few good games with his buddies earlier. This was definitely my best of the night: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStatsHalo3...er=Katastrofi26

Now I need to get back to work... I'm still not done :/

Hey guys, just tried my first game of Halo 3 round my mate's!

It's kinda weird you can only hold 2 of each type of grenade :s and I didn't really get Equipment. How do I see where I have it? Where do you get it? X didn't do anything :/ and I didn't like how you can't dual wield the Spiker and the Needler, both which look like dual-weild weapons.

We played on the snowy level. Loved the downstairs sheilds :p Didn't get a turn on the Ghost...you can still Board, right?

Two of each grenade is good if you ask me though it would be cool if you could drop one type for more of another.

As for equipment, a little logo showing what item you have will show up beneath your grenades when you have something picked up.

You can dual wield the Spiker, I was just doing it last night and I don't believe anything changed. The Needler is much more powerful than before, especially in close combat so I'm glad it's not dual wieldable anymore.

Yes you can still board the Ghost. There are Banshees on Valhalla now for Big Team Battle.

Equipment symbols are shown underneath the grenades. Like this:

The spiker you can dual wield but not the Needler. The needler is way too powerful now for dual wielding. You can still hijack.

The equipment shows up below your grenades.

Spiker is a duel wielded able weapon. Needler has been nurfed since Halo 2 so it's a single one.

Snowy level = snowbound.

Ah, I see. So there's different types of equipment, do you like cycle through, or drop one and get another or what?

Cream, I should be on at some point. I have some work to do but I won't pass up on more Neowin matches :)

One thing I miss is the ability to switch between grenade types. I use the plasma and spikers more often than the frag's. Wish you could choose when to use them :/

How do you mount the ghosts and banshee? I've tried to a few times and can't remember seeing "press <insert button> to hijack" :s

sounds like pixels kept dieing on Valhalla :p

Wait, which game? I had a couple really late last night when I was about ready to fall asleep and I sucked arse... But it wasn't with you guys. So I'm confused

few will get this..

magik...hows that grass doing  You sounded so thrilled when you had to leave us last night

Fixed my name for you. :p

Haha, but yea, I was pretty annoyed because we had a really good group going and that last game on Valhalla was a lot of fun, so I definitely didn't want to leave. But, alas, I had to get it done before it got dark and since the pick-up was the next morning. Ah well...

BTW, I think we should set up some consistent time that the majority of Neowin players are available and can go online. That way we can have some Neowin matches every night, if possible. What do you guys think and what times are good for everyone? I'm usually able to go on anytime after 6pm EST.

    • Speaking of right, right dominant only which, as with most, makes this meaningless to me.
    • No, size is not the only selling point. I did not even remotely say that. Your claim was that "building your own will be faster and cheaper". This is false. You cannot build something close to that form factor with off-the-shelf parts. You can build a Mini-ITX PC and pay more, or something larger and pay less. But these are different market segments. It's apples and oranges.
    • There is a default resolution setting in Settings > Display that can be changed with a click. You can also change the settings on a per-game basis. No CLI needed. Also, Steam has countless games that are not "[perpetual] alpha/beta games", so no need for the straw man. Plus you can use other stores as well. And console games (e.g. PS5) cost a fortune, which itself more than negates the price subsidy on the system, unless you plan on exclusively playing 1 or 2 games. It's true that you shouldn't buy a system that doesn't support the game(s) you want to play, but I think that's kinda obvious, and applies to every console as well as PC. I don't game in the living room and have no need of a Steam Machine, but there is a clear market segment that would find it useful.

RSS Guard 5.2.0 changelog: Added: Feed auto-fetch can now also be delayed while Feral GameMode is active on Linux and startup auto-fetch is skipped when GameMode is already active. (#2265) WebEngine builds can now use RSS Guard generated proxy auto-config (PAC) rules so article/web browsing follows per-account and per-feed proxy settings more closely. (#2273) Generated PAC rules now also cover related subdomains and use Public Suffix List data, so feeds such as feeds.bbc.co.uk can also proxy resources from images.bbc.co.uk. (#2273) Standard feeds can now define extra proxy domains, useful when article images, stylesheets or other page resources are loaded from a CDN or another domain that should use the same feed proxy. (#2273) RSS Guard now asks for proxy credentials when a WebEngine page needs proxy authentication and can fill credentials from the current feed proxy when available. (#2273) Network settings again include an option to ignore all cookies, which clears stored cookies and prevents new cookies from being accepted. Standard RSS/ATOM feeds can now individually ignore cookies while downloading feed data. Stored cookies can now be deleted from the Tools menu. Custom skin colors can now override the feed list article count color separately from feed titles, including a separate highlighted color. (#2275) Settings dialog can now search across available settings and highlight matching controls. (#1754) Standard RSS/ATOM feeds can now optionally be reported as broken when they are valid but contain no articles. (#2039) Standard RSS/ATOM feeds can now override the application-wide feed connection timeout per feed. (#1023) Tray icon can now use a custom background color and unread-count text color, with an option to reuse the generated icon as the application icon. (#1973) Support for more benevolent parsing of Gemlog entries (#2295). Article list can now show when an article was received by RSS Guard. (#947) Feed deep discovery now actually scrapes all links found in the website and checks if they are feeds or not. This greatly enhances usability of the deep discovery mode and discovers many more feeds than before. (#2306) Search boxes now show a small dot when the feed or article list is hiding some items because of active filtering. (#873) Articles now have a shortcut-assignable action to open the homepage of the feed they belong to. (#2060) Fixed: Parallel feed updates no longer crash when multiple update results are processed at the same time. (64cf521) Links in WebEngine articles opened from feeds such as Kill the Newsletter now open correctly instead of being swallowed by the embedded page. (#2272) Relative article URLs resolution was kinda broken. (#2282) Clicking article URL did not work when the URL had "fragment" set. (#2293) The default proxy setting now uses Qt/system default proxy behavior instead of forcing no proxy. (e0263ad) WebEngine article loading now keeps the current feed context, so feed-specific proxy credentials remain available while the article page loads.
