I've been debating this forever as well, until I decided... let's just try them both and compare.

I normally use an electric razor (Braun 7505) with the new foil head with the "differently shaped holes" as Braun calls it. I decided I was gonna buy a Gillette Fusion to compare. I hear all these stories of "electric razors are so much faster" blah blah blah, well I dunno what those guys are doing because a shave with my electric takes about 20 minutes from start to finish. I tried the Gillette Fusion Power, and let me tell you. Severely disappointed. Not only did it take a long time as well, but it honestly didn't give me any smoother results. Granted, your skin feels totally different after using one method compared to the other, but I just didn't like the Fusion after all the hype. Sure it gave me the same results as my electric, but after 2 uses the lubricant strip on the cartridge was shot. So in the end I just went back to my Braun electic razor.

I did go back to the old foil head with just the circular holes, and that was a garbage shave job, but with the new "different shaped holes" in the new foil heads, it does a decent job. What I've found to work the best though, is before you shave, soak a cloth in scalding hot water, honestly, the hotter the water the better, and then soak your face with it. Dry off your face, and then use the electric as you would normally. The heat opens up the pores and you shave just that much smoother. With a razor like the Fusion, you shave after you shower, so your face is warm already, but for an electric, you get covered in all the little hair shavings that leak through the foil head, so you really need to shower afterwards to clean up.

Well that's my experience anyway. I'm still at a loss as to how people can claim they can shave in under 5 minutes with an electric, they must either look super patchy, or like they haven't shaved at all. Anyway, I hope this helps someone, as I debated this issue for quite some time before finally comparing them and proving to myself the electric razor is better in the end.

Same here, I love it. People always ask me if I shave with clippers because of the preciseness of the mustache/beard angles and curves. They never believe when i say i used a razor.

though i wish the blades weren't so expensive.

Yup I agree, the blades are pretty expensive :pinch: a pack of 4 is for LE 55 (~$10) where I live.

Gillette M3 with Gillette Gel. I haven't ever used anything else as I bought 200 blades when they were on offer at Costco! Did you know they actually changed the design because the initial M3 blades were designed so well that they lasted a lot longer and so the sales dropped?!

I user a razor. I'm a total perfectionist when it comes to shaving, and shave until it's as smooth as a 16 year olf girld.. Anyhow!

And I just never can get that with an electric. I own an electric razor - quite an expensive one that pumps lubricant out, self cleans, apparently it's as good an electric razor than you can get - but I am never satisfied with the results. Only time I use it is when I am going to be away from decent shaving opportunities (camping, etc).

I use electric on my sack and razor on my face. Razor on the sack makes it itchy. 3 head electric Norelco and (forgive me) one of those pink lady bics for my face. No razor burn.

hahaha made me laugh

I use a razor, just get some good shaving cream and ur good to go. I thought everyone knew about opening up the poors with hot water? your supposed to do that everytime, then wash ur face with hot water dry it and wash it with cold.

I use a Gillette Fusion with this stuff. I swear by it, and it makes shaving much easier as you can see exactly what you're doing. Makes your skin feel good too

After reading some of the reviews it seems the ladies like their men using this too! :D

    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. Password Safe 3.72.0 changelog: Fixed bugs Improved font scale handling - should resolve font size issues on high resolution displays. • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
    • How do you connect 5.1 Speakers to this thing?
    • I agree with both of you... It's absolutely imperative that science is completely based on actual proven facts and hard evidence and is not considered dogmatic in any way. Science is not a religion and it will never be, and that's exactly how it's supposed to be.
