[Cancelled] Sarah Connor Chronicles (Terminator Series)

Recommended Posts

It'll be renewed but we won't find out for awhile, and there's been a drought of TSCC news so Summer's been keeping us company ;)

Anyone know when the BluRay release will be? I remember seeing the dvd pop up for pre order but I don't recall seeing a release date. Gotta pick up my copy to support the team :) But dvd  hd

Yes I am bumping this thread but no I am not bumping it with summer glau picture so those people who whine (you know who you are!) can rest easy! :p

I just rewatched the finale and you know the second time around makes me want a new season so bad...the ending is just so perfect!

I'll be re-watching it after I go see Salvation or maybe just before. Only watched Season 1 once so I'll be re-watching that again. Even though I want another season so bad, our Terminator needs are pretty damn good already. 3 classic movies, 2 tv seasons and 1 new movie and 2 more on the way. While we don't need another, it would certainly follow the trend, 3 classic movies, 3 tv seasons and 3 new movies, 3rd times the charm right? ;)

You consider the third a classic?

While "T3" was really good, I don't consider it a "classic" compared to the likes of "T2". Each to their own though :)

Radish™

I completely agree, I don't consider "T2" a "classic" compared to "T1", but T2 is bloody good.

Haha no no, not a "classic" I meant "old"

The classic series vs the new series.

3rd definitely no where near as good as the 1 and 2, but it's part of the same story arc more or less.

Oh right, sorry, I read that wrong.

"Vintage" :laugh:

I say "T3" rounded off the trilogy quite well.

Radish?

T3 gets a lot of hate, while it wasn't nearly as good as the others I still liked it. The same can be said for the tv series. They do a lot of things wrong but I'm a Terminator fan at heart so I love em all. T3 didn't have the same suspense as the other's had. T1 had the best story and T2 had the best action/suspense. I probably liked T2 the best but I love everything Terminator :$

The ending for T3 was my favorite part, aside from Kristanna nekkid ;) It was a great ending and if it was the last, a good way to end it. But after seeing everything McG has done I'm very happy it wasn't the last.

I have no problem with T3, but I do understand how McG and Josh Friedman would decided to just make there movies, and tv shows based on T1, and T2. It wasn't on par with those other two movies, and the story wasn't nearly as good.

I am just not a fan of this show like I SHOULD BE, I mean it's Terminator and I own season 1.

However, I am probably not going to own Season 2, at least not until it's on for very cheap. (Like 50%)

I just not really a fan of season 2. I watched it, and I can't watch it. Because there is no action not even that much suspense or good acting, IMO. It's not that good to me.

A regular drama about Terminator doesn't work.

If there is season 3, better add MORE Action/suspense!!!

Everyone can have there opinion of the show, but the show really hasn't ever had a lot of action. But the best part of the show is that it requires you to think about what's going on. The show is more about the character than it is about the action- The movies are about the action. There was a lot of slow parts about season two, but I also thought that season two also had a lot of really great episodes. One of the best was Today is the day part 1 and 2- I think that if there is a season 3 (which we'll know in six days) that there might be a little bit more action but probably not more than what was in season 2.

this.

:p

It probably won't be renewed, because the lack of action/suspense affects a LOT of other viewers too, not just myself.

Terminator IS about action, without action, it would just be another show that has nothing to do with Terminator.

I just don't see how MAJORITY will accept it being a Non-action show, bearing the name 'Terminator'.

And, no matter how smart you say the show is, definitely not smart like LOST!

Well I do agree a lot of people got turned off because there wasn't much action- I think anyone that is looking for this show to be the miniature version of Terminator 2 is going to be turned off by the show. But I mean it's a tv show they can't have lots of action in every episode they do have limits on what they can put into a episode because they have limits on money and time per episode. I think the show had an awesome ending to season 2. I don't mean just the season finale- if you watch episodes 217-222 you'll see that it's some of the tv that has been on in a good while. I watch a lot of scifi, and scifi dramas and those last six episodes were in my book as good as anything the X-files ever put on TV.

The reason I brought up the X-files is because just like SCC the X-files always started out slow, and ended very well. It was always about the characters, and story and not so much about the action. I would say that TSCC has probably a 50/50 chance of renewal right now. A lot of people are saying that Doll House is probably over. I have also read that only two of the new Pilots are probably going to be aired Glee, and some other show that I can't remember right now.

It looks like there might not be a chance that TSCC will be renewed. Fox has said (EW news) that Cleveland and Glee, Human Target and Sons of Tucson are on board for new shows. If this is true then there's 1-2 hours of time left in the Fall, and Spring schedule and if Fox picks up the other two pilots they're looking at you can say good bye to this show at least on Fox. There's rumors (not from good sources) that scifi might consider picking the show up. But right now even if Fox renews the show season three might be it's last- The only way it would have to survive is if more than one of the new pilots just completely suck and they cancel them.

It seems that Fox will be letting everyone know on the 18th what there Fall and Spring schedule is but the problem is that we have no idea what shows will be airing this Fall until the 18th so Fox might give TSCC a full 22 episodes if it's in the Fall, but if it's the Spring then we're going to probably only see at the least 13 episodes, and it will probably be the last season.

The only thing I'm wondering about is if it's even possible for the show to be picked up by another network. What kind of contracts do Josh Friedman and the actors have with Fox? But it seems to me at least that if Josh Friedman is able to start looking for another network I think Syfy would be a good place to start. I hope Fox puts the show up for this Fall so we might get a 3rd, and 4th season, but with these guys you can never tell.

Just wanted to say that I agree with what you said kaotic :p The story is one of the main reasons i watch the show and i just don't think it would as good with a lot of action. You can't just have 22 episode of action because you need to develop a central story arc.

Jedi, you seem to want to have more action on a lot of shows :p

    • As I've been usually saying lately - we all can thank "AI" for this.
    • Friday Windows 11 preview builds are here. Insiders in the Experimental (formerly Dev) and Beta Channel can download builds 26300.8697 and 26220.8690. My Windows11 device on the Preview Channel just got 26220.8728. My guess is this build is a nightly update from 26220.8690.
    • Traffic has a surprisingly unexpected impact on your surroundings by Sayan Sen Image by Radik 2707 via Pexels A collaborative study by researchers from several Israeli institutions found that everyday pollution from traffic and industrial activity measurably changed the atmospheric electric field over the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, providing new evidence of how human activity can influence the lower atmosphere. The research was led by Dr. Roy Yaniv of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Gertner Institute at Sheba Medical Center, Dr. Assaf Hochman of the Fredy & Nadine Herrmann Institute of Earth Sciences at the Hebrew University, and Prof. Yoav Yair of Reichman University. The study also involved Itay Froomer, a student from Hadera High School and the Israeli Museum of Medicine and Science (Technoda), who carried out the work as part of the Ministry of Education's 5-unit physics research track. The researchers focused on the atmospheric electric field under fair-weather conditions. Even in the absence of storms, a weak electric field naturally exists between Earth's surface and the atmosphere. One of the main ways scientists measure this field is through the Potential Gradient (PG), which is the inverse of the vertical component of the electric field. PG is a key part of the global electric circuit, a planet-wide system of electrical currents maintained by thunderstorms and electrified clouds around the world. Scientists have long known that the atmospheric electric field can be influenced by factors ranging from large-scale atmospheric processes to local weather conditions such as dust, fog and clouds. Human-made pollution is also known to play a role, but understanding exactly how urban emissions affect the electric field close to the ground has remained an area of ongoing research. To investigate this relationship, the team analyzed measurements from a newly installed electric field mill, an instrument used to continuously monitor the strength of the atmospheric electric field. The instrument was installed at the Center for Technological Education (Roter House) in Holon and became operational in August 2024. It was funded by Israel's Ministry of Education and the Holon municipality. The electric field mill forms part of a broader monitoring network that includes nearby meteorological stations and air-quality monitoring sites. This allowed researchers to compare electric field measurements with detailed weather data and pollution records to better understand what was driving changes in the Potential Gradient. The study focused on two major urban pollutants: fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), both commonly produced by vehicle traffic and industrial activity. PM2.5 refers to microscopic airborne particles small enough to remain suspended in the atmosphere for extended periods, while NOx is a group of gases released during fuel combustion. Researchers examined daily, weekly and seasonal patterns in the atmospheric electric field and compared them with changes in pollutant concentrations. Their analysis revealed a clear relationship between NOx levels and changes in the Potential Gradient, particularly during morning and evening rush hours when traffic emissions were at their highest. “What we observe is a direct physical link between emission peaks and electrical variability,” explained Dr. Roy Yaniv. “NOx reduces atmospheric conductivity very quickly, so the electric field responds almost instantaneously during traffic rush hours.” Atmospheric conductivity describes how easily electrical charges move through the air. According to the researchers, nitrogen oxides rapidly alter this conductivity, causing a near-immediate response in the electric field. PM2.5, however, was associated with a delayed response. The researchers attributed this difference to the particles' longer atmospheric residence time, meaning they remain in the atmosphere for longer periods, as well as their different microphysical interactions with surrounding air and atmospheric components. The study also identified a pronounced "weekend effect." In Israel, traffic volumes and some industrial activity decline significantly on Fridays and Saturdays. During these periods, concentrations of both NOx and PM2.5 dropped, and corresponding changes were observed in the atmospheric electric field. “The weekend signal demonstrates just how sensitive the electric field is to changes in human activity,” the researchers noted. “When emissions decline, the electrical environment adjusts at once, providing a high-resolution indicator of urban atmospheric conditions.” The findings showed that pollution levels can influence not only the chemical composition of the atmosphere but also its electrical properties. Researchers said the results strengthened the case for using atmospheric electricity as an additional tool for environmental monitoring, particularly in densely populated urban areas where anthropogenic, or human-caused, influences are most pronounced. The study also pointed to potential public health applications. By combining air-quality measurements with observations of atmospheric electricity, researchers said they could gain a more complete picture of how urban atmospheric conditions change over time. “Integrating air-quality data with electric-field measurements gives us a clearer picture of how the lower atmosphere evolves moment by moment,” the researchers added. “It’s a framework that can support both scientific insight and practical environmental decision-making.” Beyond the scientific findings, the project highlighted a collaboration between universities, public institutions and secondary education. Researchers said the work demonstrated how students could take part in real-world environmental research while contributing to studies of air quality, atmospheric processes and their potential effects on society. • We aren't even at the all-star game and Microsoft is talking about an update that will most likely be released during the World Series if not after. A lot can happen in the world between now and the 2026 World Series, including the 2026 FIFA Cup. Tell me about it again after the FIFA Cup is concluded. That should allow plenty of time to prepare for it.
