I don't know what to think about the whole brushed aluminum casing rumor about the new iMac. The only reason I find that hard to believe is becuase they have always reserved aluminum for their professional grade products. The iMac has always been part of the consumer line.
Ever heard of the Mac mini?
I doubt the whole ipod multi-touch mini OS X thing.

The latest rumors don't agree with you: ;)

DigiTimes claims that Wintek has been given the contract award for producing the the panels of Apples upcoming iPod refresh, which DigiTimes notes will be in August. The touch screens will reportedly be similar to the iPhone's touch screen.

iMac Revision and iLife on August 7th?

ThinkSecret pinpoints Tuesday, August 7th as the likely date for the long awaited iMac revision.

The revamped iMac will represent the first substantial upgrade to the system since it initially adopted Intel processors in January 2006, and will sport an entirely new brushed aluminum enclosure.

ThinkSecret also suggests that the overdue iLife updates could also arrive at the same time, but are less certain on this possibility.

A recent rumor had claimed that iLife update had gone "golden master", suggesting an imminent release.

I'll be ordering a new shiny 24" iMac the second it comes out. Hopefully it will pack 2GB RAM by default like the MacBook Pro.

We're obviously going to need unpacking pictures, etc., since you've been waiting, and saying you're waiting, for months :p

MacBook Pro comes with 2 GB of RAM standard? I didn't know this, has this always been the case?

Is it true that Apples latest patent is a move to bring iPhone-ness to the touchpad of the notebooks? Eg, diagonal spread for zoom in apps, etc, as well as a "mini-touchscreen" type deal? and how about apple developing its own "multimedia cross-browser plugin" coughSilverlightcoughFlash...

haha depends on how fast Apple ships it. People will probably beat me to it. ;) Both Rudy and me have been waiting for quite a while now yeah. Since May or so? :/

Since the last revision all MacBook Pros ship with 2GB. This wasn't the case before, definitely not when it comes the two 15" models if I recall correctly.

I believe they filled in a patent for it recently. But Apple does that all the time. It doesn't mean we'll something like it anytime soon or at all for that matter. Big companies just like to patent stuff. :p Edited by .Neo
.Neo - The highest 15" came with 2GB ram stock before the latest revision.

Aah OK. I thought only the 17" model had 2GB by default.

Some videos "leaked" showing the supposedly new iPod 6g interface:

No confirmation if it's real though.

I'm waiting 6 months before buying a new Apple system (if I decide to again). They'll have to have ironed out the bugs/defects as with any other Mac before it has had.

I personally never really had a problem with my first generation macbook pro, the only thing that was the "whining" and that was easily fixed (new logicboard)

Leaked pictures of the new keyboard are up:

If true, this will give us a rough idea where the iMac is heading.

Interesting, that lone USB port (hopefully USB 2) does look odd, though.
