[Official] Doctor Who Thread

A hell of a lot of death for a Christmas story, was quite shocked! The preview, seeing tate player her "Bovvered" thing ("Why you say miss? Do I look single?") ****ed me off to no end - she could turn a lot of people off the new franchise.

officially it's Series 4

On the BBC internal documents, they refer to it as series 4. On the clapperboards it is referred to as series four. It's like DrWho 2.0 Series 4 ;)

That xmas special was ace. Shame Astrid (Anagram for Tardis :p) had to die.

"Information: You are all going to die."

Yeah RTD said not to read much into the name, its like he was trying to not make us think :p

BBC bosses are so confident in Doctor Who that they are making an episode without him in it.

Instead, the Time Lord?s three female assistants ? Rose, Martha and Donna ? take the starring roles.

The shock twist comes after the Doctor, played by David Tennant, gets lost in space.

His faithful sidekicks ? played by Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman and Catherine Tate ? are left to take control of the Tardis as they battle to save the world from an alien invasion.

An insider on the show?s top-secret Cardiff set said: ?The chemistry between the three assistants is electric. It is so strong that we realised the doctor could be in danger of getting in the way.

?So it is left to the girls to sort things out, having to save civilisation and the Doctor himself.?

Former assistants Billie, 25, and Freema, 28, will team up with the Doctor?s new companion Catherine, 39, for the one-off episode towards the end of the next series. It will be screened in March.

The insider added: ?It is a bit of a gamble having Doctor Who without the Doctor ? it has never been done before. But everyone is so interested in the different assistants that it should be fantastic.

?Donna, Martha and Rose are all competing for his attention in different ways and all want to be the best.

?But the question will be, can they work together??

:woot:

Hopefully Rose and Martha gang up together and throw Donna out of the tardis at full warp, or whatever the tardis does :) That would be my

favourite show ever :)

Yeah then Martha and Rose get down...wait thats my fantasy :shifty:

Season 4 of Doctor Who looms, and the titles of the first two episodes have been released!

Also, Georgia Moffett will be guest starring.

Georgia Moffett, the daughter of Fifth Doctor Peter Davison, will guest star in Series Four of Doctor Who.

Georgia originally auditioned for a role in Gareth Roberts' Agatha Christie episode, but so impressed the production team that she was offered a much more exciting part in another episode, currently filming in Cardiff.

Additionally, two episode titles have been announced. Episode one, written by Russell T Davies, will be called Partners In Crime, whilst episode four has been named The Sontaran Strategem. It's the first of a two-parter by Helen Raynor.

British actors Alex Kingston and Colin Salmon are set to star in the next series of Doctor Who.

Alex, best known for her roles in ER and Moll Flanders, will star in a Steven Moffat penned two-parter as River Song - a mysterious character who meets The Doctor on an expedition to uncover the secrets of an abandoned library.

She's joined by James Bond regular Colin Salmon, who also stars in the two episodes.

Alex said: "I used to watch Doctor Who through the crack in the door. I was so terrified but I couldn't tear myself away. I loved it so much and I'm so delighted to be a part of the new series."

Award-winning actress Catherine Tate is reprising her role as Donna, the runaway bride, and will star as The Doctor's companion throughout the new series alongside David Tennant as the Time Lord.

The first episode of the eagerly awaited new series will witness Donna tracking down The Doctor during an alien emergency in modern day London.

Further guest stars already confirmed to appear this time around include Sarah Lancashire, Felicity Kendal, Lesley Sharp, Georgia Moffett, Lindsey Coulson, Fenella Woolgar, Tim McInnerny, Peter Capaldi, Phil Davis and Tracey Childs.

The fourth series of Doctor Who is now in production and will hit BBC One in Spring 2008.

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with adblockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Opera Air'. It still has some bloat, but nowhere near as much as Brave browser, for example. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. I have a system wide Adblocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the the web browser, but over the whole thing. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt adblocker because of that.
    • I have been using Firefox for years.
    • I'd trust open source stuff on github more then closed source binaries from Microsoft.
