Halo 03 |News & General| OFFICIAL

wow, thats interesting. i hope they make destroyable phantoms in single player, although it could ruin some of the gameplay if you destroy the phantoms (especially if you're glitching off map where they just sit often) before they put down all their troops...

that map also looks quite cool, anyone got any idea which one it is? i haven't kept too up to date on all the halo news recently and evidently missed that one.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that not single player footage?

I just noticed that in all the stuff we've seen from Halo 3 so far, there is no Flood.

I think it's safe to think that they'll be returning in Halo 3 - with the Gravemind and all - but in all the Bungie Updates I've read - in all the screenshots/videos, never seen/read anything about the Flood.

Did I miss something? :p

Indeed, so far in Halo 1 and 2 they always held back some big major secrets until the game was released.

Ill never forget the first time I met the flood. *fades to memory*

The little guys arent so bad, like party poppers... *final door opens*

HOLY SH**%*#&$*@!

*end memory file*

Good times, yeah

Yeah that part was awesome. The cutscene from Pvt. Jenkins really built up the tension for me.

Great game. :D

It was the big guys coming out of nowhere that did it. The marine and the cutscene were pretty building though. I felt relieved for most of the level since there was near no Covenant.

I really wonder what the Flood will be like in this game.

The flood in H2 were a big disappointment. Detail was embarrassingly lost with the popcorn flood guys, the shrills of the flood were plain annoying and not viscous as in the first game. However, I did like the fact that the Elite retained their energy shields and the popcorn guys were able to resurrect a downed fighter. That popped my eyes out first time I saw it. Hated the fact that with the little guys swarming you they wouldn't all "pop" when you shot or mealed one of them as in the first game, only a few.

I'm sure H3 will scare a few of us  Or atleast I hope.

I'm sure with Forge anything is possible. I am anxiously hoping that we can decide whether or not vehicles can be destructible or not. How cool would that be to vicariously play Halo through Halo 3!

I remember reading somewhere that it is one of the options. :)

That still scares me. :| I really love that cutscene and the music.

Yea, from what I've been reading, the amount of customization available in Halo 3 custom games is incredible. I mean, if you can select what weapon a certain player can or cannot pickup then having destructable/indestructable vehicles seems to be a no-brainer. :p We will see! :D

Oh well...

From Beta and might be spoiler for some people.

^ it was the radar going crazy red that did it for me.... and it was dark in the room, and I was alone.... and i screamed like a girl.

And the marine who goes nuts and shoots at you.. ohh how that brought me so many mixed feelings....

lol. I dunno what it was about myself, but I got through the cutscene and I wasn't really frightened at all. I was more in a 'bring it on' mood  They were just more things for me to kill :p

I have a feeling this game will contain a lot more double take moments than the original, such as the marine shooting you etc. We are given huge epic battles apparently but theres sure to be a minefield of emotional content for to those who love the story :D

I sure hope it'll be like that. I have good confidence in Bungie that they'll satisfy every single one of us. :D

Yeah, the deadline's approaching quickly. Not a good thing for me, seeing as I still need to buy an xbox360 - and am out of money! I'm going to get panic attacks soon.

Yeah, that's my real reason I'm looking forward to this. To hell with Forge, as long as the story is mind-blowing, I'm happy :D

    • "This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time" ... Lol.
    • This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time by Sayan Sen Recently we covered a really good deal on an AMD RX 9070 three-fan model that's available at slightly above its MSRP. If you are looking for a GPU for 1440p gaming that's around the performance of the Nvidia RTX 5070 you should most definitely check it out. Let's say that you are looking for a monitor to pair that up with too. The Samsung 49" G9 curved QD-OLED superultrawide is a good option that can provide an immersive experience. However despite being a very good deal currently (at $855), it may seem unaffordable to you, or you may simply not want to spend as much on a monitor. In that case Dell's S2725QS can be a very good option as it's on sale at the moment for its lowest price in over six months (purchase link under the specs table down below). The big highlight of the Dell S2725QS is its 27-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) resolution, offering a high pixel density that can make text appear sharper while also providing plenty of screen space for productivity and media consumption. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through both HDMI and DisplayPort, making it suitable not only for everyday desktop use but also for smoother gaming and scrolling. AMD FreeSync Premium support is included as well, helping reduce screen tearing during gaming sessions. The screen has fairly good brightness and color accuracy so you can use it for general work purpose, though photo/video editing is probably not going to be the best match for this. The technical specs of the Dell S2725QS are given in the table below: Specification Value Viewable Screen Size 27 in (68.58 cm) Screen Mode 4K UHD Maximum Resolution 3840 × 2160 Maximum Preset Resolution 3840 × 2160 @ 120 Hz Standard Refresh Rate 120 Hz Panel Technology In-plane Switching (IPS) Backlight Technology LED Edgelight System Pixel Density 163 PPI Response Time 8 ms GTG, 5 ms GTG, 4 ms GTG Horizontal Viewing Angle 178° Vertical Viewing Angle 178° Brightness 350 cd/m² (nits) Native Contrast Ratio 1500:1 Color Support 1.07 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% sRGB (CIE 1931) Adaptive Sync AMD FreeSync Premium HDCP Support Yes Mount Type Panel Mount VESA Mount 100 × 100 mm Maximum Height Adjustment 13 cm Tilt -5° to 21° Swivel -30° to 30° Pivot ±90° Stand Adjustments Tilt, Swivel, Height, Pivot Glass Hardness 3H Horizontal Frequency 27–270 kHz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Vertical Frequency 48–120 Hz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Video Inputs 2 × HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3), 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3) Operating Temperature 0°C to 40°C Storage Temperature -20°C to 60°C Operating Humidity 10%–80% (Non-condensing) Storage Humidity 5%–95% (Non-condensing) Get it at the link below: Dell S2725QS 27-inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor: $218.49 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $280) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified. • Forget the iPhone. What about Android? Most Samsung Galaxy phones sold in the USA are manufactured in Vietnam. Asian countries have the infrastructure that the USA doesn't have. This is why most electronics are not made in the USA
