My take on things from the recent episode:

- The polar bear in Tunisia is just another hint at the fact time is somewhat distorted between the island and the real world, and also the fact that things from the island don't seem to be located in one area (Penny's people detecting the magnetic field in the arctic). So I don't think the island has a fixed physical point in the real world.

- Someone hinted earlier in this thread about the team being sent to kill everyone and take Ben, if that was the case they would have sent a team of trained killers, not a team of people with specific specialized fields. Still, I don't really know what they plan on doing on the island.

- I think the reason that guy didn't end up flying that flight 815 is either because he is a drunk (someone mentioned it in the ep), but it could be (and in my opinion more likely) because that he knew it was going to crash, it seems whatever organization that black guy works for may be behind it. You could argue that Desmond randomly caused the crash, but the fact that the passengers are so tightly linked to each other indicates that the crash was always inevitable.

Good episode.. Very interesting.. No one has mentioned the metal box with the hazmat mask and equipment?

Also does anyone know if Jack and Juliet end up being together? She was his love interest right?

No I want Jack & Kate to end up together!

You misunderstood the last one. He didn't capture someone, he meant he has someone that is on the freighter that works for him.

I agree with everyone, Ben is the man. I cheered when he shot DHARMA chick. (I'm just assuming they are DHARMA at this point. Only thing that makes sense.) Too bad she was wearing a vest.

Abaddon's 'there were no survivors' was also very ominous. Are the orders to capture Ben, then kill everyone else?

You all are strange.

Why do you want that chick to die?

WTF Polar Bear ftw!

Huge Bull FTW! ;)

The hazmat stuff is obviously because of what was done to DHARMA by the hostiles and Ben. The newcomers (I'm just going to call them DHARMA instead of newcomers from now on, because thats what I believe they are) didn't know if that was still going on on the island. Why do you think that the DHARMA chick asked if the baby was born on the island? Because they knew that children couldn't be born there from when they lived there before.

Jack ends up alone off the island, as seen in 'Through the Looking Glass'.

So maybe this is the reason why Ben couldn't leave the island? Thats why he couldn't get the surgery done off the island....

ALOT better than the first episode!!

No, that doesn't make sense. He could have left, and then still offshore had someone come operate. Or he could have sent Alpert to get him a surgeon. But he didn't have to. The day he found out, Jack came to the island. He then decided Jack was going to do it, one way or another.

The first episode was better. The DHARMA characters are uninteresting so far, except for the pilot. I really don't give a crap that Faraday cried when he saw 815 was found. Or that Miles steals money from dead people.

The polar bear in Tunisia says to me that DHARMA was doing experiments in places other than the island. Maybe when they 'lost' the island, they tried to restart their projects elsewhere, like in the middle of Tunisia which is also remote.

I have just watched the latest episode and yes it was great, however i just with the makers would give us some answers. This is now the 4th season and i feel that we still havent been given any answers at all about what's going on, and to be honest i think a lot of people will start to get bored.

You misunderstood the last one. He didn't capture someone, he meant he has someone that is on the freighter that works for him.

ohhhh, it just came in now. Someone who was on the freighter, now works for Ben. So that mystery black guy sent these people to come get him/her back....

In the first ep Jack was going to commit suicide, Hurley wanted to go back to the island....and now they're still on the island (and Hurley apologized to Jack, when Jack visited him, about siding with Locke). Then what was all them being rescued?

And now in ep2 they meet with new characters. And the drunk pilot was watching the crashed plane on the news and suddenly he's on the island. WTH!?!?!? Are these flashbacks?

I'm really lost.

Slow down buddy, and let me 'splain it.

The finale and last week's episode were flash forwards. They were rescued from the island, at least only six of them were. The drunk pilot, Frank, talking on the phone was a flashback (as well as for the other three people from the helicopter). The events on the island are current*. I note current because they could end up being events from the past, with the current timeline really being today and them trying to go back to the island, which has been hinted at in both flash forwards.

The only argument I'd have against that is that the polar bear seemed to be pretty old, although it is the desert and could have just decomposed. *scratches his chin* hmm I just don't know now.

Stuff decays much faster in a desert. Say it was there 15 years, it could easily be in that state of decay. It definitely isn't 'the location of the island in the real world' or some such though.

So heres a discussion topic. As far as I remember, this was the first time we've ever been told on screen exactly where we were. The locations given were:

Essex, Mass

Inglewood, California

Eleuthera, The Bahamas

Medenine, Tunisia

Now, if you draw connecting lines between those, you end up in the Bermuda Triangle, off the coast of Florida. According to Google Earth, the spot is roughly at the point where the Solid Rocket Booster collection point is for a shuttle launch.

Interestingly enough, the antipodal point (exactly opposite on the earth) is just off the west coast of Australia.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • Call of Duty: Vanguard, EA Sports FC 26, and more come to Xbox Game Pass by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft is in the process of making some big changes to Xbox Game Studios right now, which might include studio shutdowns, but Game Pass drops aren't pausing for that. Here are all the games that were announced today for Xbox Game Pass, their platforms, and arrival dates: Junkster (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC) – June 16 Call of Duty: Vanguard (Cloud, Console, and PC) – June 17 EA Sports FC 26 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – June 18 Abyssus (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) – June 25 RV There Yet? As new games arrive, eight will be leaving the Game Pass programs on June 30. Here's the full list of leaving titles: Mecha Break (Cloud, Console, and PC) Payday 2 (Console) Rise of Tomb Raider (Cloud, Console, and PC) Tomb Raider (Cloud, Console, and PC) Slay the Spire (Cloud, Console, and PC) Ultimate Chicken Horse (Cloud, Console, and PC) Volcano Princess (Cloud, Console, and PC) Unpacking (Cloud, Console, and PC) With June drops finished, Microsoft should have a new Game Pass announcement in about two weeks to reveal the first wave of games coming to subscribers in July.
