They're getting a little science-fictiony....We'll see if their audience can take it...

I thought it was good.

If Desmond is travelling through time again, we had better see that lady from the last time he did this. The one who sold him the ring...

I have a feeling thats going to be it for Desmond and Penny's Excellent Adventure. As far as we know, all sources of electromagnetism on the island have been exhausted toward Des. The Swan is gone and he's done that off island journey, so he should be in the clear as far as brain explosions go.

You're right about the sci-fi thing though. They said that everything can be explained realistically, I have no idea how they explain this episode that way.

Here's a question: How in the hell didn't Jack know if Desmond had been exposed to magnetism? He knows the hatch had a magnet and it exploded. Or was he just trying to keep that fact from Daniel and Charlotte?

It's Michael

Are you just speculating? Or is that a spoiler?

I would say speculation and I read spoilers its not been confirmed either way but the fact his name keeps coming up in credits its got be at least 70% sure.

Did they use the word realistically or logically? I thought it was logically, which would make it easier to explain things away in a logical sense, but not a real world sense.

As for Jack, that's a great question. He wasn't there when it happened, so we don't really know how much he knows about what happened do we? I'm sure he knows the hatch imploded, but outside of that, I doubt he's really given much thought as to what happened. It has only been what two or three weeks since that happened in Lost timeline hasn't it? I'd imagine since he got back, he's been more worried with getting everyone off the island than anything.

I suspect he's just speculating about it being Michael, I've seen a lot of people saying they think it is him, but nothing confirmed as far as I know. And if it is true, then it needs to be in spoiler tags.

Maybe it was logically. Even then. Beaming someone information from the future isn't logical.

I'll just put Jack's stupidity off to him not wanting Charlotte and Daniel to know. That will make me feel better.

We know Michael is back in some form this season, but I don't think that necessarily means its on the boat.

Just what day is it on the island right now? According to the Lostpedia timeline, the helicopter arrives on the freighter still on the 24th, but Jack tries to radio and is told the copter hasn't arrived yet on the 25th.

Now, was the chicken dinner that Locke was preparing supposed to be 'Christmas dinner'?

I'm so confused with the timeline right now. Even less confused than Des was making me.

From what I understand, you are correct. The island seems to be one day behind. Why the "package" from a few episodes back arrived a few minutes later and the helicopter arrived a day later, however, still confuses me.

All in all, though, this consciousness time-shifting is turning out to be a fun ride. I didn't ever expect something like this, but I guess that's the point of the show.

Here's something odd: there was a Lost video game released only days ago... WHAT?! How haven't I heard of this??? Has anyone played it? How did they make a video game (which must have an ending) to a series that has not yet showed us the end? I'm very confused and probably opening discussion in the wrong spot.

But it still doesn't make complete sense that its a day behind. They call from the freighter looking for Daniel not long after they arrive. Call it a couple hours. Yet they don't receive the call on the island til the 25th? And after they called and said that the copter hadn't arrived?

Is there some magic line where you lose a day? We know that 815 was on 9/22, and that Desmond interrupted the system failure on the island on 9/22 as well, so the dates were synced up then. Did the Swan implosion screw that up?

Yup, I've played it and completed it. At the risk of spoiling anything, the whole game takes place during seasons 1 and 2. If you want some spoilers, I posted them a couple pages back.

A thought though, that I didn't post then: There are interesting things shown in the game that reveal things from the island. I'd say the $30 is well worth it if you want to know everything about the island.

They mentioned Hanso well not Alvar but maybe his son or something and it was the Black Rock Journal so thats like another connection with Widmore and Dharma.

Great episode tho just got through it the flashbacks were weird but awesome and next omg Are they in a bunker could be Orchid plus Faraday wearing a nuke suit

ooo im hating charlotte for knocking out kate in the trailer i sooo want her dead and i want it to be a slow one, she is just a cockly little b****. Anyways the constant episode was great, a bit far fetched but great. Faridays constant has to be desmond now that is offit, maybe that has to do with the cards or something that he could only remember 2/3. hehe just pure speculation there ;)

I think Faraday is now my favourite character and I am so digging the hair of 1996

That was a mind bendingly great episode!! It had everything that makes Lost great. I think and hope that it finally shut up some of the naysayers that have said the writers have no idea what they are doing, they never give us answers, etc. That episode gave away plenty of answers, referenced some stuff from previous seasons that proves that this ride does have a destination. People just need to strap themselves in and enjoy the ride.

getting a little science-fictiny???where have u been dude.....two words BLACK SMOKE!!!!

or "A bunch of people surviving a plane crash that split in half"

That's not really sci-fi. People have survived plane crashes, though I recall a debate I had with multiple people on this forum that the likelyhood of all the survivors having survived in the manner by which the plane crashed, with some not even being nearly the plane wreckage, would be next to impossible, but that doesn't make it science fiction, unless the method by which they did survive would involve some kind of sci-fi element.

just got home and watched the new episode.

been a long time watcher.. first time poster and i've been looking for a place to discuss theories and speculate.

Definitely curious to see how this boat thing plays out. The last few episodes have been very strange with many loose ends. Kinda of enjoyed the switch of main character focus.

i noticed Sahid was confused about the day thing.. he's onto something. He said "How can we leave at dusk and arrive at midday?"

I always figured there was some sort of time differential between the island and the outside world.. like a section of the world lost in time. Whole burmuda triangle theory.

anyways,.. hope to be on these forums more.

    • Latest Rufus update improves new Windows 11 install method by Taras Buria Pete Batard, the maker of Rufus, a very popular app for creating bootable Windows (and other OS) media, has released a new beta version of its app. Rufus 4.15 beta is now out, and while it offers no new features, there are all sorts of improvements and fixes, including for the new Windows 11 installation method that was introduced in version 4.14 in early May. The "Silent Windows 11 installation" is a new feature whose goal is to automate operating system installation. All you have to do is boot from the drive, and then Rufus takes over, doing all things for you, such as setting up a new account, skipping ads and prompts, and more. It is a very handy tool, but initially, it had some bugs and issues that required addressing. With version 4.15 beta, Rufus is fixing that, particularly a bug with installation failing at 75%, crashes on Snapdragon X-based PCs, and more. Here is the changelog: Rufus 4.15 beta is now available for download from its GitHub repository. If you have never used Rufus before, you can check out our guide here. It is a very useful utility to have, as it allows you to deal with plenty of Windows 11's annoyances, which are still there, despite Microsoft's ongoing efforts to fix them.
    • Microsoft fixes one of Excel Copilot's most frustrating limitations by Usama Jawad Microsoft began integrating Copilot into Excel a couple of years ago and has been upgrading it with new functionalities since then. While some changes have been controversial, Microsoft is hoping to win over users by allowing them to be more productive via Copilot. To that end, it has now announced a Copilot improvement that may actually be appreciated by people who use it regularly. Excel customers often use the Copilot prompt box to issue instructions to format and customize their data, but it can become quite tiring to keep repeating the same instructions again and again. Microsoft now allows you to define Copilot personalization rules for formatting, naming conventions, formulas, and report styles. These can be accessed via Settings > Personalization, where you can explain your rules in natural language like "Always format currency in USD with no decimals", and just let Copilot take care of the rest. Microsoft is going a step further in this direction by allowing you to set workbook rules too. These rules are stored as a .Rules sheet, and are preserved while the workbook is shared. This fosters collaboration while making sure that standard rules govern the Copilot editing experience across the organization. Other advantages of this capability include pointing it to specific examples, defining dynamic formulas, and referencing an entire sheet and asking Copilot to infer rules based on that. You can leverage this feature by opening Copilot in Excel, clicking on "+", and selecting Create workbook rules. If you have an existing .Rules sheet, you can simply start listing the rules in column A as well. Personalization features are available to all Copilot in Excel users across the web, Mac, and Windows. Meanwhile, workbook rules are currently being previewed for Windows and Mac customers on the Insiders channel. General availability is scheduled after a few weeks, but a concrete date is currently unknown. Overall, the Excel capability is quite similar to ChatGPT's memory features, which allow you to permanently store items in the AI model's context window.
    • Imagine you still haven't discovered Total Commander that is doing all those things for three decades already...
    • This sounds like underneath the nice marketing spin, either someone at Adobe got tired of their lazy devs and asked Microsoft to help them sort at least some of Adobe's ancestral spaghetti code to make it go faster, or Microsoft wanted Adobe's crap to run better on Windows to make it look better when compared to Apple, so they offered to intervene. Either way, GOOD.
    • My favorite file manager for Windows 11 finally gets a long-requested feature by Taras Buria Files is among the best File Explorer alternatives for Windows 10 and 11. This free app is packed with all sorts of features and conveniences, but there is one crucial feature that is still missing—Tree View. Fortunately, the latest update in the Preview channel finally delivers it. With version 4.1.4, which is now available for download in the Preview channel, developers implemented Tree View, a new mode that displays folders in an expandable hierarchy. Windows 11's stock File Explorer always had this feature, but it was nowhere to be found in Files until now. Starting with the latest preview update, you can expand each drive and its nested folders without leaving the current location and then open the folder you need in the main view. To try Tree View in Files, update the app to the latest preview version, then click the small arrow next to a drive to expand its content. The developers say they are rolling out Tree View in Preview first to gather feedback from users and improve the feature before bringing it to all in the stable channel. In addition to Tree View, Files 4.1.14 improves the Windows Fonts folder. You can now preview each font directly in Files with no need to open the built-in font viewer. For now, these two features are only available in the Preview channel. For those using the stable release, developers recently released version 4.1.3, with improvements for the built-in tag system, on-demand folder size calculation, and plenty of various fixes. You can check out the full release notes here. You can download Files from the Microsoft Store (paid version) or its official website (free).
