No 2 ways about it - she looks like she knows what she is supposed to be doing, but just not doing it well. She is a very very well trained dancer, and yet she misses a number of cues? Her vacant look? Her stumbling and inability to shift her balance properly? I say drunk. But who the hell are MTV to even allow this to happen? They really want to have something for MTV News it seems. I despise Britney, but I am not impressed with how the media are hanging her out to dry. Never mind getting on stage and strutting their stuff, none here could I am sure! All one has to do is take a look at the member picture thread on Neowin and as far as I am concerned that really does paint a picture. The funny thing about life is that NOT ONE of us is perfect and that there is a very small percentage of people in the world who are truly beautiful! As someone who loves a broad range of music, her stuff does not rock my boat! oh yes people are critisizing and they are harsher on her than they would ever be to an average joe blogg and his office job....but that's because that is the way the music and celebrity world works! a lot is asked from them because they are role models for teenagers, and because to ensure that their fans stay faithful they must be so "perfect" that they are completely idolized. Dont forget that BS is a millionaire. These people are paid a fortune. They chose this lifestyle, it's a lot of money for a lot of expectations, you have to permanently look good, sing well, show a good example and still lead a good social and lovelife. Forget about family life, most stars dont manage that (I emphasize on most because some pedants will give me a few examples on ones who did). Pop stars like her have a team of people just to do her hair, dress her up, make sure she looks good. They failed. Unfortunately they arent the ones on stage, so she will take the blame for everything. Anyway, I personally think she is very pretty, but a truly awful live performer. And come on, she wasnt kidding anyone, she never was a good live performer. Now she was also drugged up a lot before the show because she had a panick attack, which explains why she seemed lazy and just bad on stage. I'm drifting off my original point: you cant expect people to just let her get away with that, the pop star world doesnt work this way, it's not everybody is nice and everybody is beautiful, it's harsh criticism for people we expect to be perfect. In other word, you wont get what you want (one of us average joe in shorts) because we chose a quiet life relatively speaking, of higher education, stable jobs and no media coverage.
