[Season 7] Smallville

Why not Fans?

Do I care what non-fans think of this show? Like do House fans care I don't watch it cuz topics/subjects doesn't interest me? I CARE what True fans think!

What sense does it make, if I post the poll and expect truthful response from people like other type of shows more?

Like I said earlier, that 36.36% group are showing Patience. They think eventually the show will get better, thus did not Vote for the Cancel/End option. But 40 some percentage think the Show is great/fine as it its Right now, also!

It's obvious the writer try to Drag the show as long as possible, but hey No problem with me! With great acting (Which let's agree to disagree I think so but you don't) and enough cool characters (Green arrow/Black canary) showing I CAN tolerate it rather than losing a show that interest me!

Careful, episode, by saying Terminator:SCC has better Quality than Smallville, a lot of people are not going to take you seriously, man.

Here is another site SuperHeroHype- NOT Kryptonsite, where all other Super Heroes discussions occur too, NOT just Smallville. But let me show you what people are saying there.

HOLY ****!!! AAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! !!!!!!!!!!!! ...I don't care if I scream like a girl.

Despite some shoddy wire work, that was a pretty epic start.

Absolutely amazing. Dinah Lance looks NOTHING like the Black Canary. WOW.

For once, I didn't read the spoilers for this episode, but I wasn't for sure if there is going to be any kind of flirting between GA and BC. You know, some sort of nod to the fans. Loving the episode so far.

OOOOOOOOOH, LANA DID A NO NO, LOL, THINGS ARE GETTING INTERESTING!!!

AWESOME EPISODE SO FAR!!!

this episode is actually really good.

okay, this is probably my favorite episode so far. Even above Bizarro!

This was a good episode for Lois. Erica is bringing it.

I liked this episode.

"Anyone ever told you, that you have lousy taste in women" LOL Loved that line from Dinah.

I enjoyed the episode, I did like the GA/ Lex fight, it was pretty cool. Even though it was definately inspired by Equilibrium, it was done very well.

"I stole a Lamborguini" LOL Just out of nowhere brought that up.

THAT FINAL BATTLE WAS TEH COOLNESS, ONE OF THE BEST EPISODES, PERIOD!!!

this episode was much better than Persona, IMO. Green Arrow makes this episode so great.

i thought this ep was REALLY good.

That was a pretty dawn great episode!

Awesome episode. Ollie's return was a real treat, and the BC stuff was handled well too.

I thought the stuff on the Clana front was interesting for reasons I don't think people have mentioned yet. For me, it sort of highlights the alien/human conflict that Superman always has to face--dealing with the human faults and flaws that he can't really relate to. Sure, they did their share of "teenage growing pains" type stuff with Clark in the earlier seasons, but on the whole he sort of is this perfect being who sees people as he hopes them to be rather than what they sometimes are. Still, the end scene was a refreshing step in the Clana drama. On the whole, it's encouraging to see the dual-identity concept starting to get addressed, along with the "superhero dilemma."

Hi guys , first time posting here on the Hype

Just wanted to say this episode was great

Also loved what he said when Clark started yelling at him earlier in the episode. Green Arrow is out there fighting crime while Clark remains Clark sitting on the sofa.

Wow, that was a great episode.

Black Canary? Great addition. Glad to see Ollie back as well and he had some nice scenes with Clark and Lois.

The Clark/Lana scenes felt very real to me. Standout job by Tom and Kristin. A lot of their issues and stuff are now coming on to the surface. Though it may seem terrible now I think in the long run it?s a good thing for their future relationship.

The Lionel/Lana scenes were a bit confusing. Will have to see where theyre going with this.

And Lois! In some ways this episode belonged to Erica, she was THAT good. The Clark/Lois scene was just too good.

Great show last night!

agreed, the whole episode was amazing, the climax at the end resolving ollie/lois then her taking comfort in clark, and then clark and lana FINALLY getting things off their chests.....its was great, truely felt like a step in the right direction!

I know, the show has picked up some real momentum. It is such a shame we're getting only 15 episodes.

I went into this episode with very little expectation, the storyline just didnt seem like something that was going to appeal to me, but after watching it, I would put it right up there with one of my favourites of Season 7 so far...

Loved the episode and I look forward to watching it again. Next week's episode looks fantastic!!AND

Next week's episode looks awesome!b> (YES IT DOES!)

Those are just some of thoverwhelmingly Majorityb> positive reactions to last night.

So you are wrong, mosFANS u>still LOVE the show! Nobody cares what Non-fan thinks.

Not much complaints, at all!!

There was one or two complaints, at most, but this is the common Reply(replies)

Not every show can have perfect episodes all around. Especially not to a point that I wished it was cancelled. Give it time man, it will get better for you[/quoteQFTb>!!!
^^ I agree that the Clark/Lana drama is getting repetitive, but I disagree that the shows are getting lamer.

Jedi, i think you need to stop calling people non-fans just because they have something bad to say about the show. Not everyone has to like everything about the show. And some people who are saying that they need to end the show might be saying it beause they don't want it to end up getting ruined/spoiling their memories just because the show goes on past it's prime.

For example, i like Prison Break but i still want this to be the last season just because i don't want them to stretch the storylines out and i'm not the only one thinking it.

NO don't get me wrong I am NOT forcing my opinion on anybody. :| NEVER SAID everybody has to agree with me, or else.

How about episode forcing His opinion on everybody else that show is Pitiful and Tom Welling can't act, too?

It seemed like he is forcing that opinion on everybody, too!

Obviously I and many people totally disagree with him about that the show is as bad as he think it is, and Tom welling is very good actor!

ALL I am saying If people feel it isn't good they should just stop watching, than dissing the show where many of us still love it!

There are always still going to be MANY fans of this show left, just because some people think it's getting bad and should end Doesn't mean majority everybody else feel the same way!

this show needs to desperatley change something in the overall plot, i just feel like its treading water (the same lessons are being learned over and over again). i also feel like ive been watching this season only because ive been watching since day one! lol. the last episode wasnt that bad, but is also a shining example of why things need to change. lana and clark realize how hard it is to live with clark's secret (dont only a million times with clark's parents). Yet another episode where it is painfully obvious that lex is a super villian, but gets away with everything while the good guys have to play "by the rules". and whats up with canary changing sides OFF SCREEN!? wha!? i guess they ran out of time. lol.

i think the show should go like this: send clark back to college to become a journalist. Him and Lana should be "on a break". He should live in Metropolis so he is closer to cloe and he is around for all the crime in the city.

and please, please oh god pleaseeeeeeeee let the boy FLY! :)

Sheesh, there is NO pleasing some people!

Are we Watching the same show?

First of all, producers don't want Clark Fly in Smallville. So, that should not be expected, period.

Black Canary heard what she had to hear. Clark & GA told her Lex is evil, she's on the wrong side it took like a lot of screen time as far as I am concerned. HOW is it Off Screeen changing-side? It's Clearly ON Screen!

Here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2zxVMxg-1A

When we get that much dialog about it, do we really need another reason?

Regarding Clark & Lana, I think this quote sums it up perfectly what it's about...what the producers/writers are trying to tell us and I agree

However, even with Clark/Lana plots repeitive, they don't ruin the ENTIRE show IMO, there is still whole other casts Lex, Chloe, Lois, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Linoel, and the missing Kara let's NOT forget that.

DO NOT look at the show as something like Lost, Lost is Mind-Blowing, very deep! Don't expect deepness out of this. It's just your Superhero-ish Fix! Nothing more, anything more is just Bonus really.

BTW, I am wondering, if you honestly think Tom Welling was such a Terrible actor, why did you let yourself watch 7 seasons?

If you ask me Here is what I think how this show could Improve.

These mythology episodes always seem too short!!! I mean, what's up with Bizarro last show up ONE episode and he is defeated? Make Mythology episodes longer & more. By Mythology I mean characters/places like Jor-El, the known Comic book characters/villians, go train more at Fortress Of Solitude, Brainiac is obviously alive and will be back (Don't know when, but I am Patient enough to think later this season) The writers on this show seem to RUSH the hell out of Mythology plots, and that's my BIGGEST gripe. If that Bizarro was like on 4-5 episodes instead of just 1-2 I would be much more satisfied.

The writers need to sit down and come up with a More interesting/thrilling story for Bizarro.

Bring back the other Justice League characters for more JC episodes.

And maybe even crossover with Bruce wayne, that would be pretty Awesome! They could do it! Batman and Superman are all DC comics.

The writing should add more Suspense and Cliffhangers in more episodes. With a couple mind-blowing episodes that's very suspenseful and emotional back-to-back, I don't know why would anyone still complain?

You know, for a fan of the show you're severely lacking in the background knowledge. They've already said that Batman in Smallville is not possible due to the films.

Well, I had decided that if this episode was as terrible as they have been, Smallville was getting removed from my TiVo.

It wasn't, so I guess I'm sticking it out a while longer.

It was a good episode, except of course everything ties itself back up nicely right away by the end of the episode.

And now Clark wants Lex to be nice-nice again. He certainly is a little slow.

Why wouldn't Clark bring Kara right up to the fortress right away? I mean, its a bit dangerous to have her possibly remember at any time -- especially when Lex is snooping around her.

And now Clark wants Lex to be nice-nice again. He certainly is a little slow.

I do agree about that!

Clark always go back to Lex, WTF? So now he will go to talk Lex like a friend again?

Hell it's getting really old!!!

The writers really NEED to move beyond that stage, Please!!

Haven't you ever wondered how much brain damage Lois must have being Wacked over the head as many time as she has. She gets knocked out almost every episode.

At the very end when lex said "I'm not interested in keeping secrets" I yelled at the TV "OH **** YOU!"

Just don't watch it then. :|

I think last night's episode with Black Canary is one of the best. This show is STILL BETTER than majority of crap on TV these days!

I agree with the Bold part very much.

I guess the episode I watched was kinds slow paced trust me been a fan since the first episode infact I have watched it all from Season 1 not too long ago.

But I still watch it and it's better than the average tv shows.

Without further ado, the six shows that The CW has confirmed will be back for the fall season:

America's Next Top Model

Everybody Hates Chris

Gossip Girl

One Tree Hill

Smallville

Supernatural

First things first -- Supernatural is back! You had us worried there for awhile, CW, what with taking it off the schedule for long periods of time and not promoting it as much as we'd like. But you seem to have realized what a gem you have on your hands, and we're beyond psyched that we'll get a fourth season.

And more One Tree Hill! We're loving the way Season Five is playing out, and we cannot wait to see more of the gang's twentysomething adventures. This means more opportunities to see relationships form (and fall apart), more Ravens games, more Naley, more Leyton (whether or not you love them, we suspect they're around for the long haul), and more sassy Brooke. Hurray!

We're not especially shocked to see Top Model and Gossip Girl on the list, but we're still very happy! The former is The CW's biggest hit, and the latter is arguably the network's most buzzworthy show. We can't imagine a fall TV season without Tyra and her latest crop of model wannabes. And Gossip Girl is just starting to heat up -- imagine the potential of another season of conniving, backstabbing, and bitchery.

Then there's Everybody Hates Chris, which consistently brings the funny and completely deserves another year of anchoring The CW's comedy night. And Smallville has been keeping things fresh this season with a flurry of new characters and new loves found and lost. The big question: will Michael Rosenbaum return for Season Eight? If he doesn't, will you keep watching?

So that's the big news. We want to hear your reactions! Are you freaking out about this news, or were you confident all along that your favorite shows would return? And what about shows that haven't yet been confirmed, like The Game, Reaper, and Aliens in America -- are you worried, or do you think they'll be back?

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • Poll: Grand Theft Auto VI price predictions, cast your vote by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe After years of waiting, Rockstar will be solidifying the launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI with the launch of pre-orders next week. While the studio has confirmed a date for this occasion, it is yet to attach a price to the highly anticipated game. So let's see what our readers think it will cost at launch. The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will kick off on June 25 for digital and physical editions. Unless some last-minute changes happen, the release date will be November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there's still no information about a PC version from the developer or the publisher Take-Two. Now the question becomes, how much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost at launch? The game is predicted by some analysts to be the biggest launch of an entertainment product ever. With the amount of hype that has been built behind it and with ballooning development costs, Take-Two may price this Grand Theft Auto entry differently from other AAA titles. The current price of a AAA game is $69.99. That norm almost rose to $79.99 before calming down. But with such a massive release, Grand Theft Auto VI may be the game that pushes the boundary again. It's also possible that Take-Two keeps the price relatively low to increase the number of players that jump in early and keep them hooked on Grand Theft Auto Online to spend on microtransactions for years to come. Keep in mind that the below poll is asking for a prediction of the standard edition price, not a deluxe or any other special edition that Take-Two will introduce for additional benefits. Also, there is also the chance of the company splitting up the campaign and online portions. If you think that will happen, put your vote on what you think will be the total cost of the two. Poll Poll: How much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost? $59.99 $69.99 $79.99 $89.99 $100 or more Submit Vote If you have a very specific prediction in mind, sound off in the comments below.

    • The Light of Life? We actually do glow till our Death, study finds by Sayan Sen Image by Rafael Rendon via Pexels A study by researchers at the University of Calgary has found that living organisms produce an extremely faint light known as ultraweak photon emission, and that this glow appears to drop significantly after death. The research was published in the Journal of Physical Chemistry in April 2025 and quickly drew widespread attention, leading to more than 200 news stories about the findings. Ultraweak photon emission (or UPE), sometimes called biophoton emission, refers to tiny amounts of light released by living cells as a result of normal biological activity. A photon is the basic particle of light, and researchers say every living system examined so far, including plants and animals, has been found to emit these photons. The glow is far too faint to be seen by the human eye. “I suppose it has a little to do with people being reminded of auras,” says Dr. Christoph Simon, PhD, one of the authors of the study and a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the Faculty of Science. “It is a fact that living beings glow. It’s a very weak glow, but it’s there and visible with very sensitive cameras.” According to the study, the light involved is extremely weak, ranging from 10 to 1,000 photons per square centimetre per second across a spectral range of 200 to 1,000 nanometres. For comparison, a nanometre is one-billionth of a metre and is commonly used to measure wavelengths of light. Detecting emissions at such low levels requires highly specialized equipment. To study the phenomenon, researchers used electron-multiplying charge-coupled device (EMCCD) and charge-coupled device (CCD) cameras. These imaging systems are designed to detect extremely small amounts of light, including individual photons, while minimizing background noise. The technology allowed researchers to capture signals that would otherwise be impossible to observe. The team worked with the Human Health Therapeutics Research Centre at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) in Ottawa to examine photon emissions in mice. Researchers took two-hour exposure images of the animals before and after death and compared the results. “We saw that the level of light that they emit – this biophoton glow – is distinctly different between living and dead animals,” says Dr. Daniel Oblak, PhD, an associate professor in Physics and Astronomy and the corresponding author of the study. The images showed a clear decrease in photon emissions after death across the entire body of each mouse. According to the researchers, this provided direct evidence that living and dead tissue produce different levels of ultraweak photon emission. “It’s a very small amount and it’s, of course, very tricky to detect,” Oblak says. The study grew out of discussions between Simon, whose research interests include quantum biology, and Oblak, whose work focuses on detecting light for quantum communication experiments. Quantum biology is a field that explores whether processes described by quantum physics, which studies matter and energy at very small scales, may also play a role in living systems. “Since I work as a quantum physicist on light detection for quantum communication, I thought that experimentally we have a lot of the tools to be able to detect the light,” Oblak explains. The researchers also investigated UPE in plants and found that the light changed in response to stress. When plants were exposed to higher temperatures or physically injured, their photon emissions increased. Chemical treatments also affected the glow. Among the substances tested, the local anesthetic benzocaine produced the strongest emission response when applied to injured plant tissue. These findings suggest that ultraweak photon emission is closely linked to biochemical and metabolic activity inside living organisms. Metabolism refers to the chemical reactions that allow cells and organisms to stay alive and function. Because these reactions change when an organism experiences stress, injury or disease, researchers believe UPE may provide a way to monitor those changes. The researchers stress that the glow is a physical and biological phenomenon, not a metaphysical one. Oblak says more research is needed to understand exactly how the light is produced and what information it may reveal about the condition of living tissue. “We must understand what that is to figure out what’s happening,” he says. “If we can understand how that relates to certain influences on the body – stress, diseases – then that could be used as a diagnostic tool.” The researchers believe the technique could eventually help scientists study health and disease without invasive procedures. Because UPE can be measured without adding dyes, markers or labels, it may offer a way to monitor whether tissue is healthy, damaged or alive. In plants, it could help researchers better understand how organisms respond to injury, heat and other forms of stress. While the work is still in its early stages, the study demonstrates that ultraweak photon emission imaging can provide a non-invasive and label-free way to observe biological activity. Researchers say the approach could become a useful tool for studying vitality, stress responses and other important processes in both animals and plants.
