[Season 7] Smallville

Recommended Posts

You can't be serious, ok maybe for prepubescent teens Smallville is better but otherwise it is a very cheesy show with nothing but rehashed storylines. Every episode some random person or main character gets super powers from some freak accident or experiment involving kryptonite and goes on a rampage. That got old after the fifth episode.

You just couldn't be MORE wrong/Judgemental against Smallville, here are the Episodes on Smallville aired THIS season

#1 Bizarro (Superman Myth)

#2 Kara/Supergirl(Superman Myth)

#3 Kara and Ice Villians (FOTW)

#4 Ok that's a FOTW but starring Dean Cain!!!

#5 Guest star Christina Millian, it's pretty good though(FOTW)

#6 Lara (Superman Myth)

#7 Lana with Super powers (FOTW?)

#8 Zor-El (Superman Myth)

#9 More Bizarro (Superman Myth)

#10 Bizarro/Brainiac Back (Superman Myth)

#11 Justice League characters (Green Arrow and Black Canary) - Pretty much Superman Myth/Or Comic stuff.

#12 Lex Luthor's Evil Mind (Sorta of Superman Myth)

So, we get Superman Myth episodes (Bizarro, Supergirl, Lara, Zor-El, Bizarro again, Bizarro and Brainic, Lex, Justice League) 8 out of 12 times.

For the Other 4, one had the Hot Kara and other models in Bikini  , Dean Cain (Obviously a Fan thing), The Beautiful Christina Millian (oh this episode was Packed with Superman References too!), and Lana with some Superman Powers.

I think those are clearly not what you are saying, that most are FOTW stuff or very uninteresting episodes.

Without further ado, the six shows that The CW has confirmed will be back for the fall season:

Smallville

They are just NOT going to cancel Smallvile!

Smallville is still a QUALITY show, doesn't matter what Haters are saying, MAJORITY of the Smallville fans Still LOVING it and that's good ENOUGH!!! :D

"Smallville" may have just been renewed for an 8th season, but two of its principal stars will no longer be regular cast members. Can CW's young Superman drama survive without Lana and Lex?

According to TV Guide, two original cast members - Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) and Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) opted not to renew their 7-year contracts and return as series regulars next year, but are open to several guest starring appearances, the details of which are being negotiated.

The producers may have expected this development as most marketing efforts this season focused on two more recent female cast members who play crucial characters on the show - Erica Durance, who came on board in season 4 as Lois Lane, and Laura Vandervoort, who joined the show this year as Supergirl.

A long-time regular male cast member is expected to be killed off for good in the first of 5 post-strike episodes, that airs on Thursday, April 17. Could it be John Glover's psychopath Lionel Luthor who turns evil all over again? The actor was rumored to be contracted for season eight, but anything is possible.

In its 7th year, "Smallville" is CW's top-rated scripted drama averaging 3.86 million viewers per week. Last season the show averaged 3.98 million viewers. The show's 7th season finale airs on May 15.

Losing Kreuk is an improvement to the quality of the show.

And before you cry about that statement: Yes, Jedi, shes hot. We get it. But her acting is like watching the slow torture of a puppy.

Losing Rosenbaum, however, is not good at all. He is easily one of the top two actors on the cast, the other being Glover, and the Lex scenes save the show from being 100% terrible, down to about 75%. I wonder who they will make the main villain.

There are Plenty of Villians in Superman Universe, I think with Lex want some TIME OFF (Hopefully they write into why he is gone rather than just one day he doesn't show up for a while) that's fine, it's really time to Introduce these other Superman Villians. Maybe more JC (Justice League stuff)? And NO episode, I don't disagree with you Lana's storyline are redundant BUT when you judge the entire show based on HER alone it's not cool!

Her scenes are really Limited, it's not like she is in Every scene, why give a Damn?

PLUS, you were complaining after the Black Canary/Green Arrow episode saying it sucks, but Guess what? Majority of Smallville fans loved that episode! http://www.kryptonsite.com/sirenreview.htm

Like that Review said, there is a Reason the show is Dragging, They want Smallville to go on for MORE seasons!

We all know who he's going to be and who he's going to marry and we even know who his arch nemesis and superpowered friends will be. He doesn't know and, for very good reasons, can't know because once he accepts his destiny the show is over. It looks like they'll probably get one more season out of this series, so they will have to drag it all on a bit longer than some would have liked.

I know waiting for the final act of this series is frustrating some Superman fans out there. I can even see the complainers' point about Clark needing to move on already. The romantic angst can sometimes be laid on too thick even for me. However, Clark needs to come to that decision on his own, not have it foisted on him.

Yeah great, we all know there are other villains. You can also just invent someone. But Lex Luthor is the villain. Rosenbaum is also, by far, the best at playing his character on the show. Losing him for anyone else is a downgrade. Of course they will write in why he is gone, thats a given. But it doesn't make up for his absence in the show. With him not in it, you make the show much worse.

Because its part of the show! You can't say 'well, I know she sucks, but just ignore that'. Thats like saying 'well, I know Kate sucks on Lost, but just ignore it'. (I don't think Kate sucks, BTW)

PLUS, you were complaining after the Black Canary/Green Arrow episode saying it sucks, but Guess what? Majority of Smallville fans loved that episode! http://www.kryptonsite.com/sirenreview.htm

Smallville fans think they are ALL good. That reviewer, in order, has given the episodes of this season 4.5, 4, 3.5, 4.5, 5, 4, 4.5, 2 (wow a low rating - and it was a good episode, go figure!), 5, 5, 5, 4.5. And she rated the best episode of this season and possibly the last few, 'Fracture' LOWER than a bunch of other ones. Thats nothing but a joke. Can you call her an unbiased interviewer when you look at those ratings? Of course not. Shes a fan that loves the show, and nothing more. Of course she rates it high.

Like that Review said, there is a Reason the show is Dragging, They want Smallville to go on for MORE seasons!

Thats a good excuse to you? Thats a terrible reason to have bad plots and episodes. How about moving the goddamn story forward so you have a whole NEW series of events to write about? Instead of the same old crap.

Because its part of the show! You can't say 'well, I know she sucks, but just ignore that'. Thats like saying 'well, I know Kate sucks on Lost, but just ignore it'. (I don't think Kate sucks, BTW)

Yes I can! (BTW, I DO NOT think Lana or Kristin the actress sucks, I think SHE IS A GREAT/Talented actress. The problem is ONLY with the script that her character being repeatitive, that's ALL. NO other problem with the show WHATSOEVER for me.)

I enjoy ALL the actings on Smallville MUCH MORE than I do on Terminator, period.

If Kate sucks, Lost still DOESN'T suck because she isn't the Only main character in the show.

There is still other characters, and other Storylines. If those are GOOD, one poor characters just makes VERY LITTLE difference to me!

I just don't see how you or anyone like you say the whole show sucks when only 1 character have a problem, man it really is Nit-picking to the Extreme!!!

Kreuk being terrible is only PART of the reason the show sucks. Not the ONLY reason.

Rehashed storylines.

Clark being dumber than dirt.

Freaks of the Week.

And plenty more.

Alright, looks like at this point we can ONLY go from here is to Agree to Strongly Disagree.

Enough of arguing about something we can NEVER agree on. Whatever.

I would suggest that if you really Dislike this show THAT much, maybe it's best to Stop watching than complaining.

Not every show is intented for everyone!

Like I said, I like Terminator too, but I seriusly DON'T consider it better than Smallville AT ALL! That show doesn't even have a lot of Action/Thrill whatosoever that makes the Originial Terminator movies Awesome. So, I guess the lesson is we all have different taste, maybe that's why it's like that!

Ok Good Night! :)

I agree with Episode, still love Smallville but they need to rejuvenate it - getting rid of Lex will be a major thing.

Radish?

Hold on man, he (episode) said the show sucks and need to end, wasn't that he still love it and need to rejuvenate as you are saying.... at least that's my understanding with his attitude toward this show!

As for rejuvenate, I never disagreed about that, The only thing I ever disagree about is that this show sucks.

There is HUGE difference between a show that need to rejuvenate and sucks/need to end, IMO

If any show need to rejuvenate, it's the Sarah Connor chronicles more than this show, to be honest. The Finale wasn't that Big at all! I mean, don't get me wrong, I like it to come back next season, but they BETTER pack it more Action/Thrills than we get now!

Smallville, on the other hand, ALWAYS have a Great season finale!

He also said the show sucks, it need to end, and Acting (Even Tom Welling) are Terrible.

But Look, that's enough. I am getting TIRED of this arguement.

All I don't want to see is coming to this thread but someone else Bashing the show!

Sorry, but criticism is part of any TV show.

Episode might have said that, and if they don't move forward - I'm inclined to agree with him as well.

If you can't take what you read in this topic with a pinch of salt, maybe you should avoid posting in it?

Radish?

FYI, opinion/Poll from Biggest Smallville Fansite (Kryptonsite) -

Should Smallville end?

Never! I think the show has never been better 40.91%

Eh I think that if they just got Clark off the farm then it should be good 36.36%

Yes! It's become tired and repetitive (people like YOU) 22.73%

Yes it's not single digits, but still a Vast Minority!

An update on the Poll -

Then WHY the moment someone bash Lost in Lost thread the same way, people ALL tell them "You don't like it, don't watch it anymore LOST is BEST show on TV what's wrong with you" and Everybody Agrees about that, huh?

I know Lost is Great, but it's NOT something that isn't critic-proof either!

He IS terrible. He has the range of a coconut.

Have you ever seen anything else he or Kreuk have been in? 'The Fog' or 'Cheaper by the Dozen' for Welling or 'EuroTrip' for Kreuk?

They had no acting ability. I'm sorry. I know you love the show, but you have to get real.

There is a reason that people come in to bash the show, its because the episodes are not very good. If you want pure 'love' for the show and nothing else, just go to kryptonsite and talk about it there.

Same reply to the last time you posted that poll. Its only FANS voting. 20% of FANS hate it! Isn't that saying something? And another 34% think it needs a change. So 54% of FANS OF THE SHOW think it should be different. If you included occasional watchers and people that don't visit fan sites, I bet that number would be above 75%. That poll is not a valid judge of what people think of the show.

Then WHY the moment someone bash Lost in Lost thread the same way, people ALL tell them "You don't like it, don't watch it anymore"

Because, by and large, Lost isn't terrible. And 'ThePitt' does come in each week and bash it, and we tell him to get out.

Well, I just DON'T understand why you even let yourself watch 7 Seasons, if you feel Tom Welling Sucks?

He is the MAIN character, he is the CORE of this show, so clearly one has to think the Acting of him is pretty good at least (If not Awesome) to endure 7 seasons!

I know I WOULDN'T make myself watch a show (Especially 7 Seasons long) when the Main actor is Terrible!

I don't think you like this show much, from the Beginning.

Because I was a big Superman fan. I absolutely love the original movies. And when the show first came out, I was a lot younger (late teens) and I didn't care much about how good an actor was. Now that I've matured, the performance of an actor/actress is more important. As I've said before, I still watch it due to time invested in the show. I want to see how it ends.

You didn't answer my question. Have you seen them act in anything else? And if not, how can you judge how good they are?

And 'ThePitt' does come in each week and bash it, and we tell him to get out.

Is YOUR action in THIS thread different?

You didn't answer my question. Have you seen them act in anything else? And if not, how can you judge how good they are?

Most of the opinions of Smallville fans, including the one I just posted (which you call biased), commends Tom's acting/performance!

Is YOUR action in THIS thread different?

Yes, because he just bashes it. I, and others, say why its bad, and what they can do to improve it.

Most of the opinions of Smallville fans, including the one I just posted (which you call biased), commends Tom's acting/performance!

Well he is better than he used to be, thats true. But you can't compare him to, say, Michael Rosenbaum. Can you honestly tell me that those two are on the same level, acting wise?

Somehow Jedi, I think you'd consider a tree stump to have a quality acting performance if it had a pretty face, or was trendy.

I agree with many here, the acting is pretty bad from the actors, including their other projects. I continue to watch, because I am lifelong Superman fan: Comics, sculptures, you name it, I probably have it where superman is concerned. There have been some real gems in the series, but they've been very few and far between these days, and something big needs to change if the show is going to survive.

    • So its a museum of AI prompts? Boring
    • This one baffles me...so they are creating a museum based around the Ship of Theseus? A museum is supposed to preserve things. It doesn't really work if the conversation goes, "I gazed upon Starry Night the other day, the colours were beautiful!" "Yeah...I didn't expect Godzilla to show up, though." Create a building devoted to displaying AI work, fine. The rainforest idea sounds interesting and I would consider visiting if they pay me a few bucks. But don't call it a museum...
    • >defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool It is not. It is the inhuman artist replacement. The human writing the prompt is the employer/manager requesting the work product of the artist -- a supervisory/descriptive job that doesn't carry with it any rights to the copyright of that work product at all. And since AI is not human itself, it can't gain copyright for anything it is asked to regurgitate or hallucinate, so it can't transfer that copyright to the employer/manager/human who asked for the output. This was all legally reaffirmed last year. So, no, while there are AI tools, AI slopware generation is NOT a "tool" in the legal definition of that word.
    • As long as i get to play GTA 6 before it ends 😂😂
    • Google is opening the world's first AI museum in Los Angeles by Ivan Jenic Image via: Google Ever since AI image generators went mainstream, the debate over whether AI-generated art is real art hasn't let up. Those who don’t consider AI to be art say that if a machine does the creating and anyone can prompt it, there’s no skill involved, and therefore no art is produced. The counter-argument is equally persistent, as defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool, and that every major technological breakthrough, like the camera or the computer, was met with the same skepticism before eventually being accepted as a legitimate creative medium. Google’s position in this debate is clear. Which is no surprise, as the company is investing billions in AI infrastructure. And now, in efforts to encourage people to use its AI even more, Google is opening Dataland on June 20, which it's calling the world's first AI arts museum. Located inside The Grand LA, a Frank Gehry-designed building in Los Angeles, the museum spans 25,000 square feet. The museum is built around a collaboration with media artist Refik Anadol, who has worked with Google since 2016. The inaugural exhibition is called Machine Dreams: Rainforest, and is powered by an AI model trained on “an extensive dataset of the natural world.” It generates 1.2 billion pixels of visuals in real time and reacts to visitors dynamically. The space also generates soundscapes, real-time emotion sensing, and algorithmically produced scents. Image via: Refik Anadol Studio / Google Google says that the museum is powered by its Gemini models, which run on Google Cloud. So, everything is generated inside one of Google’s AI data centers and is streamed to the museum. Alongside the museum opening, Google Arts & Culture is funding an AI Artist Residency, giving four artists $25,000 grants each, along with mentorship from Refik Anadol Studio and access to Google's machine learning tools. Their work will be shown at Dataland and on the Google Arts & Culture website later this year. Google’s AI museum will undoubtedly initiate a fired-up debate on social media, and we can’t wait to see the first reactions. Via: Smithsonian Magazine
