I joined because I like how active it is, with its many different forums

What first brought me here was Autopatcher, back when it was in full swing (I mean full)

I've come back because, I had a good look around and it was a cross between Bleeping Computer and here

I asked a Mod there for a little help, and I'm still waiting for the reply.

Whereas here the Mods are very (I mean very) quick and helpful all the time.

Basically it was the Mods here that was the icing on the top. I'll see how things go for a while.

Oh and I like "Activity" window, that helps too.

I suppose the only thing I don't like is the huge banners, I think its the members signatures, all over the place.

I find that a real put off, but I suppose its in grained now, so no use arguing about all those ads !

Anyway, thanks for having me so far. And to the active Mods: your good work is noticed :)

I found it like yesterday, and I don't remember how I did it... Strange. But I think it was through a Google search, I was searching for something - Windows related I suppose. Great site, can't say the same thing about the members though :p

...nah, just kidding. I love you all!

Friend told me about it one day, and I was also getting sick of hearing him talk about "Just reading forums" and I got to the point were I thought... "link me to this forum you go on so much", and it was Neowin.

Was interesting so I registerd.

*Note: NiceCarpet-ng. Got me into it :D

A google search brought me to an article listed on the BPN, and I noticed that I pretty much liked all of the news listed there. I checked it casually for about a year or so in the Lo-Fi version (that's what google brought me to), not realizing that it was actually a huge site and forum!

After clicking the full-site button, it changed my homepage and news source forever :p

Searching for information during the Neptune and then Whistler betas brought me to this site. I can still remember what the front page looked like. Thinking about it makes me miss college and the simple life... but only for a moment.

lol this is funny... a post had been laid to rest over a year ago and now new member bring this post back from the grave yard.

ArtScott, welcome to neowin. I see so many of the "1 post" wanderers here and there. So amazing the most people that contribute to this thread has only a couple post and they went silent for ever.

bahhh :-)

I found it on macrumors. Yeah, that's a bit weird.

not so weird, imo. the sites parallel each other - macs on mr, win on neowin.

    • I used a Pixel 10 Pro XL when it first came out for about 8 months. When I first got it, it was using Google assistant and that was fast, when asking it to call somone etc. Then it automatically switched with some update to Gemini. Doing even the simplist of things like asking it to call someone in my contacts was soooooo slow compared to Google assistant. I guess it had to go out to the cloud to do that? Back on iPhone and while Siri is dumb right now, it does do those simple things, like call someone, set a timer, star the stop watch etc, really fast. That an while I like Google Material Design 3 over iOS 26, they Pixel 10 Pro XL was so slow in comparison to the iPhone 17 Pro I am using.
