They're shot at 1.8 with his 50mm so the DOF is pretty slim. A stylistic choice but I'd stop it down further to increase the sharpness.

Now are you guys doing PP when uploading these? I would like to see pre and post PP to see how much WB work was done. I tried doing a Customer WB on mine and it did not come up with pure white, but at least makes it easier to put in Light room.

I didn't really edit mine. I KNOW I didn't do any WB editing.

To get the whitest, you need a longer exposure. Try setting your camera to Spot Mettering.

I've been playing with the light tent / lightbox thing too recently, pretty good fun. What I have found is lighting, sure, proper studio lighting would be nicer (wait, while you're at it, a proper studio would be nice too), but I've had good results out of a pair of 500W halogen lamps. The downside, they're yelllllllllow, and they're hot. But they're bright. Very bright. I've found with a custom WB set for my lightbox and those lamps, the yellowness issue is pretty much solved. But hot could be an issue, the thin tissue paper sides on my ghetto lightbox have uh, smoked.

I got a pair of these, the telescoping stand is very handy. Thought I'd throw in my experiences :)

I had the same issue, Pandya, but solved it by using my Sunpak 383 external flash bounced off the ceiling as the light source, and it works pretty well!

If its for filtering the light source, although it doesn't give the same effect you can experiment with baking/grease proof paper.

Tissue paper works well too, and its very cheap stuff. I got 8 A2 sheets for ?1 from a stationers.

Does anyone have a comparison with greaseproof paper and cloth?

I have started mine, although I have a brown box, so have painted it. Was looking at attaching baking paper, but I do have an old sheet I can cut up.
