+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 23, 2007 Subscriber² Share Posted December 23, 2007 Can anyone help me, I'm kinda dumb at this stuff. When I rip my movies to my PC HDD I get a VIDEO_TS folder with numerous files (vob files, bup files, ifo files), is it possible to play this as one whole file on the PS3? I read somewhere that the PS3 can play vob files...? So my question is can I somehow in essence "zip up" the whole folder with all the files into one file that I can copy onto my PS3 HDD and play? I guess I could just copy the main VOB files of the movie the ones that are 1GB+ each and put them on the PS3, right? But I'd prefer having one big file on the PS3 instead of a number of them... thanks! Edit: If this all does work I think I'll be picking up a external HDD for Xmas :D What are you ripping? DVD HD-DVD Blu Ray ?
Waylander
mkv2vob is nice i cant seem to play the files it produces on windows though, get audio only (tried both coreavc and ffdshow as the videodecoder for x264). also i burnt the vob to a dual layer dvd and the ps3 wont read it :( i can transfer them with tversity but i wanted to use up my cheap media to put some HD films on my fathers ps3

morficus
My Naruto anime doesn't work. It plays for about 5 seconds then just stops. Anyone with this issue? So you're not alone on this one... for some reason I'm having the same issue with some of my anime AVI's After copying them to the PS3, the information section shows that the video is only a few seconds long... yet it does display the full file size (+100mb) here are a few pix I took with my phone: I haven't had a chance to try with TVersity with transcoding off since I'm away from home for the xmas season... but I can confirm that it worked just fine via Tversity with transcoding on. But since the PS3 is nativly only seeing the file as a few seconds long... I'm gonna guess that TVersity w/o transcoding will not work... has anyone else ran into this issue, or have any tips on how to get around/fix it? sn00pie
Is there a program that allows you to backup your BD/HD DVD movies into VOB files? I also need a program to stitch together my VOB files, 4 x 1GB VOB file for a DVD movie... I'd like them to be one big file onto my PS3. :)
