Hulk Hogan is speaking out about a just-released audio transcript that features him making racist slurs about his daughter Brooke's love life.

"Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it," Hogan said in a statement exclusively to PEOPLE. The transcript featuring that conversation was published online by the National Enquirer.

"This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise," Hogan told PEOPLE. "I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs."

Hogan was scrubbed from the WWE's website on Friday morning, with no videos or photos of the famed wrestler remaining. He was also removed from the online Hall of Fame. His lawyer David Houston confirmed to PEOPLE that he's officially resigned from the organization.

"He decided to resign from WWE because he didn't want to put them or his family through this," Houston told PEOPLE.

WWE, however, maintains that Hogan was fired: "WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (a.k.a. Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide."

Hogan told PEOPLE he will use the situation to "improve as a person" and that he takes the matter as an "important learning experience."

According to PWInsider.com, Bully Ray is already gone from TNA Wrestling, just one week after making his return to television as the brand new on-screen authority figure. The company spent a lot of time building up the Hall of Famer

They're erasing Hulk Hogan, sure, racism is disgusting, but is it worse than home violence (Stone Cold), various crimes (Mayweather), rape (Mike Tyson)? They got the chance to rehabilitate themselves, I think that going "Benoit" on Hogan is a little too much considering that WWE hasn't cut ties at all with people who made much worse mistakes, or better, with people who committed crimes.

There are others who had a hard life and made mistakes like Booker T and R-Truth.

I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting others.

    • I'm surprised they haven't found a way to fix that. As much as I don't like software wasting memory, a file manager is the kind of thing that makes sense to keep running in active memory for super-fast recall. I suspect that is why MS makes their File Explorer part of the main explorer.exe shell, so that it is guaranteed to always be running.
    • Seriously 1.8gig....so what. Any computer, if you are going to do serious work on, in 2026 should have a mimimum of 16gig and I would say 32-64gig is the way to go.
    • So again, you'd consider "I'm happy with my LG TV" to be a valid response to an article about PlayStation? I get the "I don't like any of their products" but how does that in any way invoke Linux? It just feels very random.
