if it was a legitimate firing, it would be on the WWE Corporate page .. http://corporate.wwe.com/

I am in 2 minds, yes it is because of some stupid choke which makes people remember Benoit  and no its part of this NXT angle and its like Vince fighting back.

They should have got Shelton Benjamin a female manager that had mic skills. That always boosts a wrestlers image.

What a waste by the WWE.

I completely agree. Shelton was one of the best athletes in WWE at the time.

All this Danielson/PG stuff really is laughable. At a time when UFC/MMA is becoming popular WWE seems to be going to opposite way. Next they'll probably deem wrestling to be too violent.

WWE executives are being told Danielson was released for breaking the ?don?t do anything related to Chris Benoit? rule. Choking out Justin Roberts was apparently too close to Benoit choking wife Nancy to death with a cable. Apparently the rule doesn?t apply to Triple H who regularly uses the crossface.

And I guess kidnapping and trying to kill Bret Hart with a car is ok compared to choking out a ring announcer eh?

Whatever WWE.

WWE is so **** now and stuff like this just proves it

I received the following email two days ago, however I decided to hold off on posting it as it is both unconfirmed and anonymous. This same email is floating around in the inboxes of other internet wrestling media sources, as I noticed that it was CC'd to the addresses of many different online wrestling media outlets. It seems to imply that the Linda McMahon senate campaign was the reason why Bryan Danielson was fired from WWE, and since there has been so much speculation abound as to why he was released, I figured I'd post the email and allow you to be the judge. Furthermore, after speaking with a source inside WWE about this "conspiracy theory," I was told that it might not be very far off from the truth considering the circumstances, so here it is. Keep in mind, the following correspondence is anonymous:

"To whom it may concern;

I am a campaign worker for the Linda McMahon Senate campaign in Stamford, CT and I wanted to pass this information along to you. I am not a "fan" of Mrs. McMahon's family business by any means but I also do not like to see people's livelihoods taken away because of someone's political ambitions.

In regards to the released performer Daniel Brian this decision was made by Mr. David Cappiello the new campaign manager for Mrs. McMahon. After viewing the video of an incident of someone being choked and spat on Mr. Cappiello advised the campaign this could have very negative repurcussions to the campaign as a whole.

It was his decision that many in the media would use this against Mrs. McMahon in her campaign because of it's violent nature and it would bring up memories of the Chris Benoit tragedy which the campaign has tried very hard to distance itself from. He also felt it would significantly hurt her stance on family values to be associated with a product marketed towards children that allowed it's performers to openly spit in the faces of one another. It was this decision that led to the performer being released to show the media that Mrs. McMahon does not tolerate or approve of such behavior.

I am sending this to you from a temporary e-mail address. I will not answer further questions I just thought the truth should be put out there and not this rampant speculation. You can chose to print this or not, I leave that entirely to you."

The fact they released Daniel Bryan like that is disgusting. Lynda McMahon may promote 'family values', but she obviously lacks decent values when it comes to looking after employees and their career prospects, when they've worked hard to get where they are.

Bryan Danielson has been added to the July 23rd EVOLVE event in Union City, NJ at the ACW Arena. The venue is a small one that will hold about 300 people.

Danielson will then work the next night for Dragon Gate USA. The show will be their one-year anniversary event, and will be held at the Arena in Philadelphia.

Gabe Sapolsky is heavily involved with both companies, and also worked with Danielson for several years with Ring of Honor.

There has also been talk of Danielson working for ROH again.

I really hope he ends up in TNA soon. They can put his talents to good use over there. :)

One of the stranger things about Daniel Bryan's WWE release is that Vince McMahon personally fired him via telephone late Friday night of last week, instead of having someone like John Laurinaitis do it. WWE creative and company executives were said to have no idea that any trouble with Danielson was even brewing. Some knew that there was heat from the tie incident on RAW but nobody expected that this would happen.

Watching it now. The Jericho vs Bourne match was good. I appreciate Jericho being willing to put over the younger stars, yet I miss the old Jericho he used to be. Yes, he is just as good of a wrestler, but this gimmick is getting old. He is my favorite wrestler of all time and I want him to be face again. [/complaining]

Some people are saying that Rey is going to win, setting up for yet another rivalry with CM Punk, Title vs Mask. To that I must say: BOOO. Honestly, I think the best case scenario would be Jack Swagger retaining his championship.

wow, mysterio as "champion" again. sorry, how does he qualify as a heavyweight

That match was absolutely HORRID all over. Jack Swagger sucks at selling, Big Show and Mysterio are boring, and CM Punk was chased away.

WWE is just getting so boring and predictable...I've found myself keeping up with TNA more and more now...seems like Dixie and Jarrett know what they're doin.
