Final lap times:

T. Glock 1:44.731

J. Trulli 1:44.800

They were on the same tyres (and I think the only people on those tyres) - it'd take a very elaborate setup to slow both cars down by the same amount to let Hamilton through.

Before the race I felt really nervous, although I was like that for Brazil 05 & 07 too. My heart was literally pounding on the last lap though.

Alonso, Vettel & Hamilton are the 3 main contenders for future years IMO. Massa too although I feel it depends too much on the team around him and who his team mate is (ie: Alonso, Vettel or Raikkonen).

Glad Hamilton triumphed, given all the bad stewards decisions surrounding him this year. Hamilton vs 2 Ferraris, Alonso and the FIA.

Not forgetting trulli finished 30s behind hamilton yet was 3s behind him just before the final lap was started. If someone with the experience of Trulli can lose 27s on single a lap, i think we can say Glock didn't stand much chance

I think you could probably stop your car, take a ****, jump back into your car, and still not lost 27s on that last lap... Hamilton was not getting a great deal of traction

Regardless, my hands were shaking after that finish... it was the most amazing last few laps i have ever seen

From winning everything, to losing everything, to getting it back in unexpected ways

God knows why I never posted in this thread until now, but let me just throw in my congratulations to Hamilton!!! Anyone who is faster than The Stig deserves to be world champion! :D

in an F1 car with worn dry tyres on a wet track, you tend to do well to only lose 27s, remember the chaos in Spa? Plenty of cars went off, kimi spun exiting a slow corner and put it in a wall. Dry tyres on an F1 car need heat, once it rains that heat goes quicker than an F1 car does in the dry :p No heat = no grip = go slower = even less heat = even less grip = no grip at all = crash

What a race to end the 2008 season! It was probably the MOST exciting race all year long. I really thought Massa had it when Vettel passed Hamilton, but Hamilton pulled it out in the last corner on the last lap to win the Drivers Championship by one point.

Congrats to Lewis Hamilton. Him and his team made/had very few mistakes/problems (besides the stewards lack of consistency/favoritism toward Ferrari) and he earned his #1 title.

Congrats to Ferrari on the Constructors Championship.

Now if we can have the same hard racing and more consistent (and timely) rulings by the stewards next year, it should be a good year for F1.

One last note to Bernie: We want at least ONE North American race, as we're the largest market for the various teams production road cars.

Market makes no difference to where they race. The Canadian Grand Prix has been dropped from the 2009 season due to financial problems.

The Canadian Grand Prix has been dropped from the 2009 season due to financial problems.

The French GP pulled out because of financial problems. Canada was pulled by the FIA/FOM without any notification or explanation to the track owners or fans. A few days later the Canadian GP officials stated that after 2009 they would be struggling to run it financially anyway.

It is an unsustainable business model. The tracks pay Bernie to host the race before it even goes on the calendar. They then have to try and make money from ticket sales alone.

Canadian GP was pulled due to unpaid fees apparently, so that is actually financial problems :p

Yeah I totally agree. If the stewards decisions went in favour of Hamilton and Massa had a realiable car, then I think Massa would have pulled ahead for sure so the stewards decisions din't matter as much as Massa's car and pit crew!

All in all a great season and the race at Interlagos was the best closely followed by the Spa race. I loved the last 30 seconds of the race except I feel Timo Glock could have done better on the last lap! I wanted Massa to win but oh well!

Congrats to Hamilton!

since the last race, i am a broken guy. this title was meant to be felipes.

hami lucked into the wdc like raikkonen did in 2007.

congrats to him! his drive in silverstone was pretty amazing.

3 ****ing corners away. damn.

i dunno if its of some relevance for some of you, but with this year, our commentator heinz pr?ller (sorta german/austrian murray walker) wont comment f1 anymore and get replaced by a losy nobody:((

im so depressed right now:((

btw. i got familiar with the f1 cars of 2k9 right now, it took me a while, but its fine now - except renaults ugly shitcar lol - especially williams, ferrari and mclaren have brought pretty nice cars.

my favourite title contender for 2k9 has to be felipe massa with the f60, if ferrari finally built a car arround him, he will whitewash the field beginning with melbourne.:

Firefox used to be that, but now it is a code bloat browser, hiding AI.
