Anyone tried Haze? It's terrible!

You need to get yourself a set of glasses then mate. Cause the demo didnt look the same. ALOT more jaggies, cars sink into walls for a good 6/8 inches, handleing doesnt seem as solid, background was slightly blurryer.

Final game doesnt have any of that.

+1

pre-release demos are often based on beta code

You have mistaken me here, I'm not upset or offended. I asked what, if not a sly dig at Sony, was the point of bringing up the crab thing?

Because i was doing a direct comparison between a 'bad' demo and a 'bad' video demonstration, all adding to bad PR.

Funny, my copies look identical - Even reviews mention the massive amount of jaggies. Only problem i had with the demo was the MS Steering Wheel working like ass.

The handling was pretty much the same, the graphical aspect was the same and cars didn't sink into the walls, what are you on about.

Perhaps you need glasses?

Fair enough, if you say so.

Perhaps he doesn't, he isn't the only one to see the demo was using old code.

The demo did use old code, i never said otherwise - But the problems he mentioned are non-existent.

Perhaps the blurry background, i didn't check - But the graphical aspect of the game is exactly the same, read a few Forza 2 reviews and most of them will mention the jaggies.

To sum it all up: A Bad demo in 95% of the cases will also mean a bad retail game and the same goes for good demos. Just because you are using old code, doesn't mean the entire gameplay and feel of the game changes, that's just naive.

I can't justify buying Haze just to "Try" the updated code when i hated the Demo. Sames goes with any other game, that's why a demo is important and the developers deserve a slap if they push a poor demo out the door.

Wow, this thread got interesting over lunch :)

Taken from pitpass 46 over at forzamotorsport.net, strait from the horse's mouth:

Q: What kind of difference will we see between the demo and the actual arcade mode if we use the same cars on the same track? Is this the final build?

A: Yes, the demo is pretty much the graphics and sounds you'll get in the full game. Keep in mind that every track has a different ambience, so each car will be lit differently.

So I guess this should take care of all the doubts :)

Arh come on.....

Forza 2 demo was not near that bad, it had the same jaggy problems as the retail game, and was NO NEAR that level of buggy your talking about.

Maybe you should try playing the game and looking at the road, instead of driving into the sand and saying you went through the ground <.<

I hated Forza2, the first one was much better.

Anyway, last I'm saying on this matter. Have a great weekend.

For crying out loud people. Do you really have to argue about everything? If you don't like a post, ignore it. TADA! Problem solved!

Thread Cleaned

Argue? I'd say we are discussing on a discussion forum :) - I thought we were allowed to share opinions and try to prove a few points.

And to King, just did the same test - Demo on my main Xbox and the retail on my spare. Graphics is the same, jaggies is the same, handling is, from what i can tell identical. But we can go on about this forever and the mods obviously don't like discussion in here, so let's leave it at that.

I wasn't arguing either?

Anyway, I'm in a proper bad mood now. Got home, sat down and the phone went and straight back to work I went.

You should rate the game on the final product, demos are just a pain in the arse for developers these days. Also make your own opinion, personally I thought GTA IV was overhyped and far from a 10/10 game and not worth the ?45 I paid for it.

Unfortunately not all of us can afford every game on the market to play before judging. You can see the flaw in your suggestion now, yes?;)) This is why we have demos:yes::

If they didn't take the time to make a decent demo, can I really be arsed giving them my good money for a game they probably treated with the same manner?
