Anyone tried Haze? It's terrible!

I think it's poor to see "exclusive" titles, or at least titles that have been created with the PS3 as the lead platform (not a port) hitting sub 720p resolutions.

When it comes to mulitplatform titles I guess you can be more forgiving, as essentially two titles have been in development.

600-640p seems to be something we've seen a few times, but Haze dipping below that is disappointing IMO.

The game looks appealing on the Co-Op side of things, and multiplayer might be a blast, but I'll hold back.

RFOM2 is going to bring insane Co-Op anyway, I think it's 8 player Co-Op with it's own standalone campaign

I agree, but it hardly looks terrible. They must have their reasons.

I agree 100% about RFOM2.

4GB install as well

Ubisoft has also revealed that Haze will require an installation of at least 4GB.

"You will need to go through a minimal install (about 4 Gigs) but not the whole game," said a community rep on the Ubisoft forums.

Not posting that as negative news, just posting it as information :)

Although I do fail to see why it requires installation at all, when there is far superior games which don't. I guess they are just taking advantage of the of the feature in the end.

I know mate, I was just stating that for once it actually seems to be of benefit. The installation must be down to how quick the disc needs to access data and stream it. Maybe this game cant access quick enough?

I'm not overly bothered, I have a HUGE HDD in my PS3 :D and I think I will be giving Haze a miss anyway.

most games kinda 'stealth' install anyway. being a PC gamer installation is not an issue for me, I'd rather do it in one go than over time. gta4 took around 7 mins, take a dump and make a drink then your about ready to go.

I'm happy to let sony off with the installations as it gives me better loading times and we're not tied to a proprietary drive, as we can use any 2.5'' SATA drive.

You're joking right?

Biggest benefit for me is in drive noise

I'm sure some others might feel the same.

Not knocking "no" load times, that's cool, but I don't mind short load times anyway.

I have to admit, after playing the demo a few more times, i wont be getting this game. Not only are the sounds crap, its blurry, lots of terrible textures and look!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3nm8IedDUY

Bodies only lye around for a few seconds befor dissapearing.

LOL! Have you actually read up on what Nectar does to the soldier? One of the opposing teams tricks is to play dead so the mantel trooper won't see them.

Nectar makes them think the world is a great place, and death is not there and THATS why they disappear.

The sound is superb through my 5.1 system, and its not blurry in the slightest on my TV. I'm just gutted I can't get it on Friday.

Ahh i did not know this :p lol

Clearly ;)

It is amazing how many people are jumping on the 'hate Haze' bandwagon when they don't know anything about it :) Not a dig at you, just an observation.

Meh, even so, i've severly gone off it. Shame cause i was really looking forward to this game too.

Just to let people know the Haze demo is an old build of the game. So I wouldn't go basing any opinions of the game off that lol

Damn right doggy. :D

Give it a go mate, you may enjoy the full game. Give it a rent.

I actually thought the graphics were only ok, not amazing - Guess watching all the recent KZ2 stuff doesn't help

It was an ok ride for me, doesn't hit me as an instant AAA title, but the amount that will no doubt be packed in (4 player co-op online and offline, ect), will probably give us a solid title.

The guys brought us timesplitters which was good, so I expect this to deliver above par, but not exceed expectations.

I'd say a Metacritic average of around 8, that's my guess anyway prior to seeing the final build reviewed.

KZ2 is still being shown as CG, no actual game footage is available at this time.

Unfortunately Haze is too little too late, look at the Resistance 2 footage, thats in game ****, not pre-rendered. that's the one im looking forward too.

I realise I am late to this thread, but it still remaims that Haze is a BoS and not worthy of the superior games following it, R2 to be exact

Oh god not you as well :pinch: Old code or not, if the game is medicore, it doesn't matter if they brought this game back from tomorrow, it still sucks in amny people's opinions.

Less of the "old code" crap.

Do you enjoy just making things up?

I understand people can make mistakes, but seriously, do some research before you come away with comments like that.

We seen the first in-game footage for KZ2 over a YEAR ago, and there's been a lot more of it since then.

I'm surprised my post brought out so much conversation. But I still feel that a demo should be a close to finished code and graphics as possible. That is what a DEMO is, an example of the PRODUCT, not the product 5 months before completion. That is called a Beta. The reason I can let this slide for Halo 3 is because they actually called it a Beta Test, not a demo. I think people need to understand the difference.

    • If you have a TV in your living room, chances are you can probably just use the Steam Link app and play your huge PC in big picture mode, effectively giving you the Steam Machine experience to see if you'd actually like it. The good news is the Steam Machine can have it's drives upgraded. It has a USB-C 10Gbs port as well, so the 512GB drive could be quickly moved to an external enclosure and repurposed.
    • This machine could very well be a second gaming PC for their living room as a console experience. So we would have to assume their main PC exists as well; With that said, I have 10gb home network with a 2.5gigabit internet connection here so we tend to have more than enough speed to download games. However, we can't make use of the 10gb LAN using Steam's built in transfer tool because it always compresses transfers and that slows the transfer down to well below a standard gigabit port speeds, sometimes as slow as 200-300Mb/s transfers. While that's probably still faster than most internet connections anyway, if they'd fix the LAN transfer issue it'd be upto x5 faster even on a gigabit LAN, than simply dropping a 2.5gbe port on there with hopes of a few people having fast internet connections. There are solutions, work arounds, like using LANCache if you run a NAS... or simply copying the files over manually using a network share.
    • Samsung announces ultra-fast UFS 5.0 storage to supercharge mobile AI by Paul Hill Local AI models tend to run a lot more slowly than cloud services like Claude and Gemini; however, Samsung has just announced that it has developed its UFS 5.0 solution, which increases data transfer to speeds of 10.8GB/s, enabling faster storage and processing in mobile memory that has the potential to provide more optimal local AI experiences. Commenting on this development, Jangseok Choi, head of Memory Product Planning at Samsung Electronics, said: If you’ve tried local AI, you’ll know it can be quite slow, especially if using the larger parameter models. By developing this new solution, Samsung says that storage is evolving from just storing data to a core piece of infrastructure that supports AI computation, too. The Korean company said that UFS 5.0 integrates the latest embedded memory interface standard from JEDEC and achieves up to 10.8 gigabytes per second (GB/s) transfer speeds. Regarding write speeds, Samsung UFS 5.0 can reach 9.5 GB/s. Both the read and write speeds are twice as fast as those of the previous UFS 4.1 standard. Aside from being ideal for local AI, Samsung’s UFS 5.0 is more power efficient by 40% compared to UFS 4.1. Samsung achieved this by implementing innovations such as clock gating and multi-voltage technologies. UFS 5.0 is also ultra-compact at just 7.5mm x 13mm x 0.9mm; that is 16.7% smaller than UFS 4.1. The company said it will be bringing it to multiple devices in the future, including mobile, wearable, and extended reality.
    • A bit like the steamdeck, this probably isn't for you.
