Anyone tried Haze? It's terrible!

Recommended Posts

I haven't played the demo but i have seen loads of the game on Gamer.tv (thanks to their 'specials' which got annoying after showing Haze so much) and i have to day that it doesn't look too bad but it doesn't look too great either. I'm interested in the co-op but i'll wait for more reviews to see if i get it.

I'm beginning to think IGN has something against the PS3. They seem to score most PS3 games low.

I remember with Lost Planet they gave it 8.5 on Xbox360. When it came out on PS3 they complained that the game was the same as on the 360 and scored it 5.5. How does the same game get a completely different score?

Well there we go then. Lost planet was on XBOX360 for over a year before it came out on PS3 and Capcom didn't add anything new to the game they released a year ago, hence the 5.5/10.

I believe the port was quite crappy - lowres textures and whatnot, change in storyline too I think... not sure

Holy crap! Does this make Haze one of the most disappointing games this year on PS3?

No. One review means nothing, and Lair springs to mind.

IGN are useless anyway for the PS3, and the whole Lost Planet thing was abysmal. So what if it was out for a year on the 360 before the PS3? The game was identical and should have received the same score.

Lair was garbage, even with the analog control patch. And Lost Planet should get a lower score if nothing was improved after a year, who wants to buy the same game twice? I passed on it, and I loved it on 360. If there's no reason to buy it again it's got no value, hence the poor score.

As far as the "old code/old version of the game" defense goes for the demo, well that's too bad. If the demo sucks, people won't buy the game. If the demo is in fact using an old build of the game then they screwed it up and their sales will suffer for it. It the developer was careless enough to make that mistake then they'll i'm not sure i want to spend $60 to see how else they screwed up. But like i said before the multiplayer videos looked interesting so i'll definitely rent the game, but i have a feeling i'll end up glad that i didn't buy it.

Who mentioned buying it twice? Not everybody bought a 360. Alot of people waited for the PS3. The score was unjustified.

What? Why does released a year later = worse game? Lets imagine it's sept 08 and World In Conflict is released for the 360. It's exactly the same as the PC version, with its tiny faults. Does this game score much less than the PC version? Why a year later is it suddenly a worse game?

Just re-read the reviews. They spend most of it complaining about how it's exactly the same as the 360 version then say it looks like it's a bit pixelated as if the filtering is wrong. OK so score the graphics down a bit, but they don't they lower the scores for everything. After going on about it being the same.

I tend to agree with IGN 98% of the time, so I am going to say they are probably right on about this game.

Also to be honest, if they seem to be extra harsh on this game, they very well probably should be. For awhile Haze was being touted as a killer exclusive for the PS3, and if it is indeed not, some people are going to be let down, myself included as I expected that killer exclusive. So they are possibly measuring the game up the the expectations that were promised with it's release, which is only understandable.

With that said, it is next to come in my GameFly queue, a spot is wide open for it's delivery, so I will judge for myself.

same here. i'm pretty disappointed with this game. it looked like it had a lot of potential when it was first shown, but all the delays were bad signs. i found the demo ok, and the 4 player co-op seemed fun, so that's most likely all i'll play when this comes.

i was hoping that this would be a game to hold me over until MGS4 came out, but i guess not. at least it'll give me some time to complete MGS 2 and 3. :)

I think people expected this game to be much more than it is and they were just extremely disappointed. I find it quite insulting that the developers could even think it would be a Halo 3 killer....They are either extremely arrogant or just plain stupid. People like these should just be ignored and not supported. They get everyone excited then they deliver crap. I am a huge fan of Ubisoft titles and I was very angry to see this massive failure  Oh well, maybe next time.

    • Now 8GB of ram looks even worse in the Neo. I'm so happy I purchased 128GB of DDR 4 when I did.... paid $174. Upgraded my parents laptop to 32GB around the same time for $48. Luckily I have a TON of spare laptops. So i'm good on laptops for a while. I also have a lot of desktops too that I could use if i had to. Lets just hope nothing happens to my main 4 monitor couch workstation.
    • I will keep my current devices for several years... no planning in upgrading until these devices stop working. Too pricey.
    • Apple raises MacBook and iPad prices as memory costs surge by Karthik Mudaliar Apple has raised the U.S. prices of several MacBook and iPad models, including the MacBook Neo, which it launched for $599 less than four months ago. The company’s cheapest laptop now starts at $699, while some MacBook Pro configurations have increased by $300. The changes affect the MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Apple has not changed the hardware or storage included with these models, so customers are simply paying more for the same configurations. Here is how the new US pricing compares with the previous starting prices: Product Previous price New price Increase MacBook Neo $599 $699 $100 13-inch MacBook Air, 512GB $1,099 $1,299 $200 14-inch MacBook Pro, 1TB $1,699 $1,999 $300 16-inch MacBook Pro $2,699 $2,999 $300 11-inch iPad Air, 128GB $599 $749 $150 13-inch iPad Air, 128GB $799 $949 $150 11-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $999 $1,199 $200 13-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $1,299 $1,499 $200 The updated prices are already appearing on Apple’s U.S. online store. The MacBook Neo increase will probably attract the most attention. Apple introduced the laptop in March for $599, pitching it as a more affordable Mac for students and buyers considering Windows laptops or Chromebooks. It uses an A18 Pro processor and originally undercut Dell’s new $699 XPS 13 by $100. Following the increase, the two laptops now have the same starting price. The M5 MacBook Air has also lost the price Apple promoted when it launched in March. The 13-inch model arrived with 512GB of storage for $1,099, while Apple’s store now lists the MacBook Air range as starting at $1,299. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 chip and 1TB of storage has gone from $1,699 to $1,999. Apple has made similar changes to its iPads. The recently released M4 iPad Air, which launched at the same $599 starting price as its predecessor, now starts at $749 for the 11-inch version. The 13-inch version has risen from $799 to $949. The iPad Pro increases are larger in dollar terms. Apple’s 11-inch M5 iPad Pro now starts at $1,199, up from $999, while the 13-inch version has moved from $1,299 to $1,499. Both base models still include 256GB of storage. Apple blamed the increases on the rapidly rising cost of DRAM and NAND flash, which provide system memory and device storage. The company told Reuters that it had tried to shield customers from the increases but could no longer absorb them. “We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly,” Apple said. Tim Cook had already warned that price increases were coming. Cook said Apple’s existing component inventory had softened the immediate impact, but that higher memory costs would increasingly affect the company after the June quarter. Much of the pressure comes from the construction of AI data centers. Memory manufacturers are directing more production toward high-margin server products, leaving PC, tablet, and smartphone makers competing for the remaining supply. Apple has not said whether the new prices are temporary or whether further increases are planned. For now, the changes show that even Apple’s purchasing power has not been enough to keep the AI-driven memory shortage away from consumer devices.
    • Ventoy 1.1.16 is out.
    • This is a none story - these low volume Chinese models will always get new experimental features first because Apple and Samsung can't produce them in huge volume to meet demand.
