BioShock PS3 confirmed

Recommended Posts

I wish 360 owners were not jealous and ruin our fun with bioshock.. I played it on my PC with a 8800 gtx and love the game. but i hate playing games on PC so i will buy the PS3 version for sure.

Although i believe PS3 overall is superior to XBOX 360, i am still believing that game developers can not put PS3 up to its full potention yet...

And also when Home and ın game XMB comes out the difference between ps3 and 360 will be like a lamborghini reventon vs Kia

Anyway.

thumbs up for Bioshock for PS3... But if they make it a port like as Orange box, i would be angry.

Righhhht..

I find really stupid that some people here hate every single good news about the PS3. EVERYTIME there is a good news about something they come and start talking trash about it.

If it comes to the PS3 then good, why you care?

Oblivion was released a year after PC and 360 and people got it and enjoyed it. I got it and I played a lot of it. I could have got that for PC but I don't like playing games on PC. If Bioshock get released on PS3, maybe I'll buy and an enjoy it too and I don't care if its a 1 - 2 years old game.

Audio you make me laugh sometimes.....

So you are saying that i am talking about MGS4 as being a mediocre game (which i am not) and you are talking about it being the game of all games! I know you are looking forward to it so much, please don't let this cloud your judgement.

MGS4 will not sell as well as you think it will sell or at least YOUR expectations. MGS4 has always been quite a niche game, Boz already explained this with MGS3. Whether it gets outstanding reviews or medicore reviews it will have to sell and again i think it won't sell as well as expected.

I don't think stating Bioshock outselling MGS4 is impossible, but it would it alittle unfair since that game came out already on two platforms last year. All i am saying it will sell extremely well when launched on the PS3.

MGS4 is going to be one of the games remembered as a classic this generation. Nothing is clouding my judgement, apart from me seeing excellent reviews so far :)

Every preview has also been very positive.

MGS4 will not sell as well as I think?

Never has a MGS game had anywhere near as much attention as this - Special editions spanning all regions, worldwide release, limited edition gun metal PS3s for all regions and PS3 bundles for all regions.

It's the PS3s first well known killer app as well, outside of GTA4.

Bioshock on the PS3 will not outsell MGS4, I'll stake my whole reputation on it, and I'll be back here to compare Bioshock and PS3 sales whenever we can.

Bioshock is a multiplatform game, MGS4 is not. You want MGS4? You buy it on a PS3. You want Bioshock, you have three options.

LOL.. if you like latin style soap operas then the story is truly unbelievable and deep. It's absolutely ridiculous and cheesy as hell.

as for visual and audio experience.. we already see that Bioshock tops it, any new game tops it.. Gears of War 2 tops hell Killzone 2 will utterly make MGS4 look like Wii game :)

MGS has more depth in real life crisis and war, than half the other shooters out there. Yes it has a Japanese quirk to it, with it's humour, but it has many things that make it an experience

a) Easy to remember and loveable characters

b) Great voice acting

c) Emotion

d) Real life references

e) Complicated plots - My favourite part. It's not a "Oh look alien invasion, kill em all, story over".

Not everyone's cup of tea? No. But a latin style soap opera?

Visually it's still impressive, and you'll realise that when you play. It's not going to be the best visuals this gen, we know that.

MGS4 a Wii game though?

Killzone 2 looks better than any other console FPS right now. I say that as we've actually seen enough of it to prove that. Not seen enough GoW2 yet.

^^^I think he's more right about MGS being more of a niche series than you seem to think. I don't hear everyday people talking about MGS no matter which console they're brand-loyal to. On the other hand, the two games that broke records in the last year (Halo 3 and GTA4) I hear talked about all the time by people who own consoles and even more by people who don't own consoles. Everyone knows those games, as they seem to affect everyone. I don't think MGS has the same broad effect or wide reach.

Don't get me wrong, I think it will sell very well, for obvious reasons, but (and don't take this the wrong way) you are biased. We know and you know that you pretty much put MGS above everything (at least in the videogame world) and I think that that is clouding your judgement as far as just how well it's going to do.

But then again, I'm also biased in that I really don't like the MGS series, so I tend to zone relevant talk of it out.

/edit - I completely forgot that this thread was about Bioshock  I don't mind it coming to PS3 - spread the wealth - it's a great game.

Anyone could tell you GTA4 and Halo are bigger than MGS though. Those are argubaly the two biggest franchises around.

I don't see anyone claiming MGS is bigger than them in this thread. So I have no idea why you compared MGS to them. I would certainly never claim MGS to be anywhere near as big as those two, and it wouldn't appeal to as large as audience as them.

All I've said is that MGS4 will outsell Bioshock on the PS3, and that overall it will still sell a lot of units compared to most games, as it IS a large franchise.

For the record, I'm looking forward to LBP more than MGS, and FF argubaly comes in on top of MGS as well, so no I don't put it above everything :p

Put it above most things, yes, the franchise is in my top5 ever.

+1.

The comment about PS3 'stealing' exclusives really made me laugh.

There is only one reason why the game is coming to the PS3 and thats to make the publisher / developer even more money. At the end of the day thats all it comes down to.

There are now a few million PS3 owners out there, so potentially that makes quite a few people that have never experienced the awesomeness that is Bioshock. Companies aren't going to leave a market with that many people in it untapped.

I love how this topic has disappeared into chaos of peoples opinions as fact.

If I remember the stories a while a go, it was reported that Microsoft paid them to keep this of the Ps3, another words a timed exclusive, so if this is true then obviously that contract has ran out, its simple as that.

Going round in topics proclaiming a console sucks or that is has no good exclusives is crap, just because you don't like the games doesn't mean others don't.

Why the urge to hate? its like you need a reason to justify your choice in console and troll other users and consoles to make yourself happy.

Some people really need to grow up, there is a blatant patten of certain people trolling in certain topics and yet nothing is ever done about it.

And "Stealing exclusives" rofl.

I've mostly ever heard what can be known as Sony fanboys saying that about the Xbox360 and now I've heard it the other way round, oh the fun. :p

Anyway, onto the topic at hand.

I for one hope it is coming out, I never got the chance to play it on other platforms and only heard good things about it.

Bioshock, GTA4, COD4 and even upcoming Battlefield Bad Company are all better games then MGS series. Hell I'd even say that I love Drake Uncharted better then MGS4 from what I've played in the beta.

Whilst I agree with you that MGS isn't all that, Bad Company? Seriously?

If anyone's stolen exclusives its X360. DMC4 and GTA4 anyone?

Rockstar decided to make GTA the next version witch is GTA4 non Exclusive as they did not have ties with sony anymore as exclusive rights or so. but as we know both systems got GTA 4 it is just the 360 gets new online content every so often and the PS3 dont

Your comment is beyond belief. First you say u played the game on PC but hate playing games on PC? Then why do you have a 8800GTX for games?

Second, This is YOUR opinion and not FACT. If you read about in this forum enough you would know Kushan has kindly wrote up an article about the differences between the PS3 vs XBOX360 and how none are actually better than one another, but it is well known that the XBOX360 does have a superior graphics chip.

Third, Is this a joke or something? Seriously!! Only someone who is Pro-PS3 would say that. I guess we know what you are now.

Oh dear. Many, many professionals also agree that the PS3 is the more powerful of the 2 consoles, the devs just need to crack the hardware.

As for the 360 having a better GPU - funny how you only mention that and that alone. The PS3 has the far superior CPU which also supports the GPU making the GPU's very comparable. You are so anti-PS3 its painful.

Do you have some links to backup your claim's about these professionals? The only console I own is my sons PS2 but even I know the 360 is far better suited for gaming than the PS3, the PS3's cpu is allot better for physics but for gaming in general the 360's CPU is better, it also has more memory and more memory bandwidth. This forum is like one big roundabout.

While that is somewhat true, The PS3 has limitations all over the place so this theory of it being "more powerful as you so put it" is total nonsense.

Fact is the 360's GPU is much better than PS3s RSX GPU. There is articles all over the internet to explain this. PS3 does have a slighly better CPU on paper, but doesn't mean a thing. You say the CPU can support the GPU which we are aware of, but that hasn't resulted in anything on PS3 looking and running better. Like GTA4 for example, on PS3 it run's at 640p whereas on XBOX360 it runs at 720p. Another game to take note is Haze which runs at a pitiful 1024x576p. I have no idea on MGS4 but i doubt it is 720p as PS3 just doesn't have the power in the graphics department which i think everyone has to agree on this.

Anti-Sony? You are joking right. I have replied with fairness in my posts and i haven't lied about anything. I think you are the one who is reading things the wrong way round.

MGS4 confirmed also to be ported to the X360, heres a pic:

So lame really.

A 50GB Blu-ray disc holds 46GB writable so it would take approx 5 and a half DVDs to fit MGS4 on XBOX360.....But wait, when the game is compressed using advance techinques (which the PS3 can't do) you find that the game would probably fit on one DVD easily. Also bear in mind that i wonder how much;

1) FLAC audio is being used

2) How much repeated data is all over the disc.

Hideo Kojima said MGS4 NEEDS 50GB Blu-ray disc, but what he really meant to say was "MGS4 NEEDS 50GB Blu-ray because of the slow drive and we have to repeat the data for loading to be acceptable. Also the FLAC audio takes GBs or room"

We will see when the game disc is ripped and then we will find out. (I have based this on most first party games released which do exactly this.)

You keep hoping son, so you can prance around like it's christmas day if MGS4 isn't bang on a maxed BR DL.

I love these "advanced techniques" people like to rely on to fit every single game on one DVD.

The funny thing is, it's everyday people spewing these comments, not the developers who made the actual game. Gotta love how the internet seems to hand out top degrees in "whatever the conversation is on" to normal people.

You know what that advanced technique really is? Compromise and cut back.

If you have to make a game on one DVD, sure you'll do it, you don't have that boundary, you'll use what you need of the larger disc.

Give a monkey one path to walk down, and he'll walk down it. Give a monkey two paths, and he may stick to the original, or go down the new one.

Give a developer more space than what games were made on in previous generations, they'll either use it, or not use it.

No it isn't.

No it isn't.

If your plans take you over your allotted space, yes it is.

You take a game that requires more than 7GB of space, and port it to the 360 what do you get?

Compromise - multiple discs, reduced textures, reduced audio quality, reduced "whatever you can reduce".

Cut back - Cutting out content/features/ect to reduce space needed.

Or you do as the internet userbase would tell you, and wave the "magic advanced compression wand/techniques" and magically cut down your space requirements with no cutback/compromise.

Well what'dya know..

Next we'll see MGS4 on the 360 :D :p

Pfft, Bioshock was always going to come to the ps3. It was only a 360 (console) exclusive for a certain period. MGS will also come to the 360, in time. The userbase is too much on the 360 to ignore, they have invested too much making the game and will probably barely break even releasing only on ps3.

No and no. Look at GTA, you have that mahussive install and blu ray disk for what benifet? the games are identical.

The drive read speed is better on the 360, it can handle reading compressed files very well. The ps3 drive is incredibly slow, in fact developers DUPLICATE a lot of files on the BR discs to compensate, so a lot of the 'more space' argument is out the window it's doing nothing for the ps3 with it's other shortfalls.

Alongside Windows 11's new preview builds released this week, Microsoft confirmed version 26H2, which is coming later this year as an enablement package based on the same platform as versions 24H2 and 25H2. A newly published blog post details what IT admins should do to prepare for the upcoming launch. Next, we have new Windows 11 bugs. Users report that this month's security updates for Windows 11 cause all sorts of issues, including BitLocker bugs, OneDrive issues, black screens of death, and third-party integration in Office apps. Microsoft has not confirmed those yet, but it acknowledged other issues with its operating system. What Microsoft has confirmed is a bug where Recycle Bin delete prompts display internal file names instead of actual ones, and a year-old Windows JScript compatibility bug caused by security-focused engine changes. Moving to more positive news, Microsoft and Adobe are working on improving Windows performance in popular creative apps like Photoshop. Thanks to SPGO optimizations, users can expect up to 20% better performance. Finally, we have a few useful articles that can help you recover your PC or make it perform better. For one, we published a guide detailing what to do if your computer cannot boot after a clean Windows 11 install. There are two important steps you can try to get your system back to working in no time. Additionally, there is a more detailed guide on various CPU performance modes that could notably improve performance. This week, Microsoft announced its newest Surface devices powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon X2 processors. There is the 12th-gen Surface Pro and the 8th-gen Surface Laptop. Both devices feature little to no visual differences compared to their predecessors from 2024, and most changes hide inside, including a better processor, faster graphics, enhanced NPUs, and more. The Surface Laptop also received a new haptic trackpad. Mozilla is currently working on a major Firefox redesign, and earlier this week, it published a roadmap of upcoming features and highlights of the upcoming "Project Nova" rework. Files, one of the best file managers for Windows 10 and 11, has been updated in the Preview channel with a long-requested feature.
