Battlefield Bad Company

And as you can see in this picture, I was shooting at an Enemy Copter that was trying to kill us, and all I hear in my mic is "Larry, stand still, this is a hilarious picture."

And I am incredibly psyched for Conquest mode, it is what Battlefield really is to me.

I have definitely gotten used to Gold Rush, but playing the game since the release of 1942, I am and always will be a Conquest Mode Man. I really cannot wait for it.

Especially since I cannot tell you how many times I have killed myself going out of bounds, still not used to having to "open up" the rest of the map, so that alone is a welcome addition.

Oh, just as munky pointed out, I also noticed it appears it is still 4 man squads, so much for wishing for that.

And we do have quite a vocabulary going here. LOL

Yep, you do. I got the Destroy Enemy Vehicle points plus the 20 points for killing two guys in it.

This game needs more than 4 man sqauds. Hoping for EA to fix the issue with the squad splitting.

My luck, I happened to blow the tank up at the exact same moment someone rpg'ed it. Or the guy hopped out.

So annoying they can't / won't increase the squad-limit :(

I hate to say it, I just do not think it is going to happen.

Although I know there are issues with this game, and there have been issues with all of them, DICE is pretty well known for making the game as balanced as possible without taking away all of the fun. I really think the squad thing comes down to the fact they just fear if you had a team of people all playing together, it would be extremely unbalanced in favor of that team.

Hopefully I am wrong, and they do address it, but I am not holding my breath.

Yeah I know, it's wishful thinking. Same reason (in my mind anyway) why they left out prone. On the bigger maps, you could have a sniper just laying somewhere well hidden, no-one would see him, and that would easily take away from the balance in the game.

Now if there was some sort of option in the custom match settings to be a bigger squad...

I hate to say it, I just do not think it is going to happen.

Yeah, I understand the reason behind it - But why not allowed several squads going against each other then.

Then friends could play with and against each other without upsetting the balance of the game.

I think I have a new strategy for unscrewing tanks...it involves a martyr.

Someone would have to be the diversion while someone sneaks up behind and unscrews the tank (behind the other player's camera)

I think I may have inadvertantly done that already! LOL.

Next time we play, I'll be the diversion, just to see if your idea would work. Then you're on your own pal.

That makes sense to me.

I am guessing their fear is if you allow friends to play friends, people would then exploit the system, for example let people kill each-other and destroy and repair vehicles, etc., just for points. The sad thing is while I know we would not abuse it, but plenty of people would.

Yeah, that's why I hate ranking and stats in general, they always tend to put a stop to all the fun.

( Some may agree, some may disagree ) but so what if some guy gets to level XX in 5 minutes, unlocks everything and gets the highest score in the game? I'd rather have fun with my mates and play some unbalanced games with the possibility of boosting. I want to have fun.

Anyone having any issues with live this evening? I have tried a few times now to connect to live and it seems to be very hit and miss :( Sometimes it takes around 5 minutes to connect, only to promptly disconnect again. Other times it fails completely.

I don't know why this picture came to mind, when you posted that.

I'd love to see how Drunkn, you and me fair in a room with voice chat.

lol, don't even go there

And I just got done telling him earlier today via PM that the thing I really find interesting when we all play online is that most of not all of the nonsense that happens on the forums does not carry over or spill into playing on Live.

Looks like I may have given you both to much credit?

And I was not on tonight as I was recording my episode of Featuring Who! Should be up in the next couple of days, so you guys can all hear me talk about technology related topics and somehow find a way to bring gaming into almost every topic non gaming related. :shiftyninja:

I will be on tomorrow night from 6-8 PM no doubt, as my wife works one more day of the late shift still.

And on another note, I finally have to definitely install Windows on my iMac and use Boot Camp or parrallels, as I just got my email that I was accepted into the Beta for BF:Heroes. :punk:

Finally, the house will be empty all weekend and can dedicate some time to Bad Company.

So is any of you playing sometime tonight?

Oh, I heard the Podcast Larry, great job! - Thanks for the mention

(Y) Not a problem.

Yeah I listened to the podcast too, DL is famous now

Thanks guys. (Y) I honestly was incredibly nervous while doing it, and I listened to it this morning and I literally shudder when I hear my own voice, so thanks for the kind words. Truly appreciated.

i'll be on tonight. gamertag = Fusion Reaction

And I will be on tonight, possibly as early as 5:30 PM EST

Also, does anyone know if they ever raised the limit of friends you can have? I am at 100, and I just went through my entire list on xbox.com, and literally everyone on my friends list is either a member here and still very active on Live, and/or a friend of mine offline, so I really cannot delete anyone else.

    • Exactly. They won't go 100 because current gen consoles are simply too old for any groundbreaking graphics or gaming experience otherwise. They will go with standard (console) price 70 or go with 80 if they really want to go premium. Of course they will have more expensive options too with some useless cosmetics as always.
    • Doesn’t surprise me at all. God is light & He gave us life so it sounds almost logical that we would therefore emit a certain amount of light.
    • This is what I want. Hey Gemini, how do I remove you from all my google products permanently?
    • I would never install install this build before rtm process. only 3 months to go. never install on your daily devices. just wait 3 months.
