Do you have Leopard? Actually you don't even need 10.5.8; just log onto Steam on a Mac and that's it. (from what I heard in game)

Steam won't even run on a PowerPC Mac, it's Intel-only.

You do need 10.5.8 to launch any Source games, and since TF2 is a Source game... yeah.

I do believe you at least have to attempt to run the game. If it crashes you still get the earbuds... but I'd assume you don't if it won't let you start it due to outdated software.

Didn't realize that part about the missing PowerPC binaries, my bad.

If you're on something older than 10.5.8 it complains about the requirements, but still allows you to launch the game if you really want to.

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Team Fortress 2

Fixed client crash when rendering model panels

Fixed client crash when rendering text strings

Fixed client crash in the main menu

Fixed server crash related to bots and health kits

Guys, what settings FOV do you use?

I'm currently using FOV of 75 degrees on a 17", 16:10 widescreen. Am I doing it wrong?

I use FOV of 90 on my widescreen (16:10). IMO, that's the best FOV on a 16:10 screen (well, technically the "best" is something like 86, but I just prefer to go all the way).

Okay, thanks for the reply. I'll switch it next time I play the game.

Oh, and a new update was released:

Engine

Fixed crash in SourceTV relay

Team Fortress 2

Fixed blood splashes not appearing on bullet hits

Fixed Achievement dialog text being cut off for certain resolutions

TFBot Changes

Medics now respond when nearby humans call for Medic

If a Medic Bot is healing you and has an ?berCharge ready, use the voice commands "Go go go!" or "Activate Charge!" to force the Bot to activate the ?berCharge

Rumour going around at the moment that it's coming on the 24th. Don't know how accurate it is though.

Meaning that's when they will start the reveal process for new items and maps etc. ?

I hope it comes out soon, I came back from my hiatus from playing to have fun with this update. I just hope that one of the achievements is for an engineer to get ubered by a medic so he can save his gun.

Which, depending on how it works, it could be somewhat unfair for those that play as a spy. I'm having quite a lot of trouble with good Pyros playing defensively, I really don't want another problem on my hands.

Well it could do something like a sonar/radar scan that needs to charge up like the spy's cloak or they may add a new building/level 4 sentry that launches guided missiles and that's the target painter?

    • This 4K webcam from Acer is now only $59.99 by Taras Buria Those looking for an affordable, high-resolution webcam from a reputable manufacturer can check out the latest deal from Acer, which puts its 4K webcam at a solid price. Thanks to a 14% discount, you can buy this all-metal 4K webcam from Acer for just $59.99. Despite the affordable price tag, the webcam has a pretty large 1/2" CMOS sensor manufactured by Sony. Apart from its size, it supports additional conveniences, such as high dynamic range and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). Plus, the camera ensures you do not have to buy additional audio equipment, as it comes with two built-in high-sensitivity microphones, a built-in background noise filter, and the ability to pick up your voice from up to 2.5 meters away. Acer is not cheaping out on materials, and the webcam is enclosed in a more premium metal case, which is also good at heat dissipation (high-resolution cameras can get quite hot). And to make sure no one is peeping at you when the camera is in use, there is a magnetic cover also made of metal. Additional conveniences include an LED status indicator and a built-in mount that lets you place a camera on a tripod.
