Damn, I should have learned how to model. I had an idea for a switchblade for the spy a while back, but couldn't really figure out how to model it.

The guy who created the Equalizer plays on the same server I regularly do, I'll have to find out if he got a cut of the money. Last I heard he wasn't getting a single penny.

He didn't make the model, he only proposed the stats. Which is why he has a Community Equalizer rather than a Self-Made one.

Last I heard the Chieftain is worth 2 or 3 hats. I have one. :p

Last I heard, a hat is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay. As such, every hat is worth only 1 other hat to me personally.

This isn't true. It drops.

No it doesn't, the only way to get Bill's hat was the pre-order L4D2, currently, the only way to get a Bill's Hat is to trade for one.....no new Bill's hats are being added to the TF2 economy and unless Valve changes something no new Bill's hats will ever be added to the TF2 economy.

I'm looking to trade my Bill's Hat - anyone interested? I'm after two or so hats, preferably from the list of Vintage Tyrolean, Procedure Mask, Brigade's Helm or Chieftan's Challenge.

I'll offer my Vintage Engineers Cap and Vintage Shooters Sola topi if you'd like those. I know it's not any of the ones you listed but just thought i'd put that offer there for you.

Thanks for the offers but the item's no longer available. Was keen to offload it before the end of the day since I was hovering over my threads in the steam forums all day at work.

Can I ask what you traded it for? Last time I looked at the Steam forums, Bill's hat was trading for a few hats, but no-where near what people were trading for a Chieftain's Challenge.

They have been dropping on the server I play on.. o_O.

Not via the random drop system. Its possible the server you play on has a few people who pre-ordered L4D2 and just not started playing TF2 again or so. Just because they are dropping doesn't mean the items are coming from the drop system. I have seen Sam and Max items drop as recently as the last time I played (last week) because the person only just now played TF2 and actually got the item. You could pre-order a game that gives you a hat in TF2, then wait till next year without playing TF2, then as soon as you die when you start playing TF2 again you will get the item.

I suppose it's also possible the server has some sort of mod on it too that drops the hats temporarily to people for gaining specific server achievements.

Thats another possibility, it could always be a server mod. Either way though, if you do not already have Bill's Hat and did not pre-order L4D2, the only way to get it is via trading.

They have been dropping via the random drop system. I own LFD2 and I've never gotten a bill's hat..ever.

I had 2 Bill's Hat. For them both I got a Vintage Tyrolean (painted white like I wanted), a Procedure Mask, Pyro's Brigade Helm and a Chieftan's Challenge.

No they haven't. The only people who get Bills hat are those who pre-ordered L4D2 through Steam and I think Gamestop as well. They can wait any amount of time before playing TF2 again afterwards and when they do they will then get their hat.

The only way to get Bill's hat if you did not preorder L4D2 is to trade for one, period, end of story.

You may think you see them dropping through the random drop system but it doesn't work that way, ask Robin (the lead TF2 developer) himself at [email protected] (email) if you don't believe me.

Listen to Nagisan on this, he's completely right.

As someone who has fair bit of experience with the item-system/APIs (They did give me a Community Weapon after all), I can guarantee you any "evidence" you've seen of a Bill's Hat / Other promotional items dropping are for the following reasons:

1. Faked using Server-side SourceMod plugins. (Just a bunch of text)

2. Found by someone who hasn't played TF2 since the original promotion. (Items were sitting unclaimed in the "New Slot" of the player's backpack)

Can't believe how awesome this game runs on my hackintosh <3

Isn't running that great on my comp anymore. It's picky and refuses to boot with my overclock now so I'm reduced to running at stock. And I'm not resorting to fps aka Lego TF2 just yet :p

Just another month to hold on and can order my new rig once the ATi Cayman cards get released.

    • Forza Horizon 6 gets big bug-fixing and balancing update by Taras Buria Today, Playground Games released a big Forza Horizon 6 update with a long list of fixes, patches, and balancing tweaks that the studio promised earlier. Version 375.327 is now available on Steam, Microsoft Store, and Xbox, offering users improvements for AI, audio, design, performance, road discovery, upgrades, visuals, online play, and more. Some of the most notable changes in the Series 2 update include rebalanced drivatars, particularly their difficulty and race start behavior. As such, the game should be more balanced on higher difficulty levels, and AI cars should not shoot out when the race starts as if they have rocket boosters. Speaking of difficulty, developers nerfed Drag Tires physics for a more expected and realistic behavior. They are no longer the go-to option for record-breaking times in road racing, and all leaderboard entries with drag tires will be removed. Completionists will also be glad to get a new feature that lets you see road discovery percentage in each region, which should make discovering all roads easier while keeping it quite challenging and interesting (I spent quite a long time finding the last road). Festival Playlist is also getting some much-needed fixes, including patches for bugs that allowed completing Seasonal Jobs ahead of time or where weekly challenges would not unlock for some players. Developers will retroactively give reward points to all who could not complete all challenges due to these bugs. Other changes include changes to Horizon Play progression so that it is easier to reach Level 100, audio improvements on lower-spec devices, fixes for visual glitches, including pixelated smoke, and more. Developers also addressed the currently non-working Eliminator, an online mode gamers used to farm credits with a Hummer EV exploit. Playground Games plans to re-enable it soon. As a gesture of goodwill, players will get a free McLaren Sabre. Those who used the exploit will not be banned, but developers plan to roll back credits to a maximum of 10M for all who farmed credits using the exploit. You can find the complete changelog for the latest Forza Horizon 6 update here.

    • Microsoft brings Planner Agent to all Microsoft 365 Copilot users by Ivan Jenic Image: Microsoft Microsoft has announced that Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot is now generally available to all users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Planner Agent is the latest addition in the string of AI features that Microsoft is implementing across virtually all of its products. The agent lets you manage tasks through natural language prompts directly inside Microsoft 365 Copilot. You can create and update tasks, check priorities, and get insights about current entries without leaving the chat interface. The general availability release comes with a handful of new additions on top of what was available during the initial rollout. A new plan picker lets you search and filter your plans by name, then update task names, statuses, due dates, or priorities through the agent. There's also a goals bucket now, which lets you group tasks under specific goals. This builds on the Goals view, a feature that was introduced as part of the broader Planner refresh that rolled out earlier. Image: Microsoft | Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot All AI-generated plans and tasks are created in draft mode by default, so you can review and approve changes before anything goes through. This is actually a thoughtful safety feature, because trusting AI to handle all your tasks without a human in the loop is usually a recipe for disaster. Having tasks initially saved as drafts is the best possible middle ground. Microsoft also says that not all tasks are executed equally. Simple tasks get processed quickly, while more complex ones, like building a plan from a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, are handed to a more capable model. Microsoft says this approach delivers the best performance, but it could also help with usage management, as you won't have to waste tokens on performing simple tasks. Planner Agent is available now across Teams, Loop, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 apps for anyone on a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription.
