Listen to Nagisan on this, he's completely right.

As someone who has fair bit of experience with the item-system/APIs (They did give me a Community Weapon after all), I can guarantee you any "evidence" you've seen of a Bill's Hat / Other promotional items dropping are for the following reasons:

1. Faked using Server-side SourceMod plugins. (Just a bunch of text)

2. Found by someone who hasn't played TF2 since the original promotion. (Items were sitting unclaimed in the "New Slot" of the player's backpack)

What did you do, and what did you get?

Isn't running that great on my comp anymore. It's picky and refuses to boot with my overclock now so I'm reduced to running at stock. And I'm not resorting to fps aka Lego TF2 just yet :p

Just another month to hold on and can order my new rig once the ATi Cayman cards get released.

I was actually surprised. I'd read that games support on Steam/OS X wasn't that great so didn't hold out for anything special on OSx86.

How wrong I was. Max settings and it barely reaches 10% cpu load, hdd temps are just as low in normal use and I can alt+tab like crazy without effecting the game at all. Could never do that in Windows.

Needless to say I'll be playing a lot more TF2 :)

I used to be able to TAB out easy enough too, even without windowed mode. Then Valve did some ALT-TAB 'fixes' and now I can tab out fine, but I can't get back into game at all and have to kill TF2.

Good it's running well for you though :) I'd heard a few stories regarding sub-par performance on OSX. Add me on Steam if you want (Y)

Oh nice, I've seen that site mentioned but only ever used it once my self. It's awesome though, nice work.

Are those item icons custom, or did Valve update them? (I'm using a custom pack since the icons had different directions/colours/quality/etc.)

Edit: And I just noticed the menu items.

Thanks!

Those are my friend Shugo's "Revamped Item Icons", you can grab them for use in TF2 here: http://www.fpsbanana.com/guis/23908

He's got all the Polypack weapons and etc done, he's just waiting on some VMT/VTF fixes to redo all the hats and add the new ones.

Sukt-sess.

Was looking for that toilet plunger ever since I first saw its entry in the wiki. Now I have it :D

Now I have the beanie, napper's respite, and this toilet plunger as pyro hats.

I recently started playing again and dam, so many new items and every item in my backpack turned into vintage items  . I have a few vintage items I'm willing to trade away if anyone wants: Vintage Camera Beard, Vintage Blutsauger, Vintage Sandvich, Vintage Direct Hit, Vintage Back Burner, and Vintage Sandman.

Halloween update.

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Engine (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2, HL2:DM)

Removed the rate limit for the "status" command when entered into the server console

Fixed an exploit that allowed people to send fake server messages to clients

Significantly improved engine vertex compression (large reduction in per-model memory usage)

Team Fortress 2

Added TF2Maps.net Art-pass contest winners:

Mountain Lab

Mann Manor

Halloween 2010 Event

Mann Manor is haunted by the Horseless Headless Horsemann.

Random gift drop in Mann Manor.

4 new Halloween achievements.

Added new Halloween hats.

Added a new Halloween weapon.

Added Gift Wrapping of gifts to the store.

Added Custom Description tag to the store.

Added the community created "Swamp Theme" assets, so all maps can use it:

See http://swamp.tf2maps.net/ for full details.

Updated cp_coldfront with the latest changes from the community creator (Icarus):

Improved visibility on last CP.

Moved second CP slightly closer to the attacker's side.

Added cover for players queuing up the health pack on the second CP.

Improved clipping on the zig-zag ramp to middle CP.

Teams that capture the middle CP are now awarded with faster spawn times.

Added a health penalty to the Rocket Jumper.

Added the Sticky Jumper for Demomen to practice jumping.

Fixed the Sandvich charge meter.

Fixed glows not drawing correctly when using antialiasing on some computers.

Improved the checks that trigger mp_scrambleteams_auto.

Added console commands to initiate trades directly (cl_trade/cl_trade_steamid) to help people running trading servers

People can trade non-tradable items by gift wrapping them? Sounds like a bug.

If you buy the 1.99 "Gift Wrap" you can now give that non-tradable item away, its not really a trade but if you trust the person you are giving the gift to that they will open a trade with you after then its a work around the non-tradable items. Both people doing this really have to trust eachother or get scamed.

Create yor own server and in the comand console:

sv_cheats 1; noclip; hurtme -9999999; bot; tf_halloween_force_boss_spawn; sv_cheats 0

melee the boss to death = free unusual metal. You only get 1 for this event. There are other "tf_halloween" commands like his spawn time, health, and number of min. players to get him to show up.

2 x refined metal + unusual metal + skullcutter = Unusual Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker (reskined eyelander). If you craft all 9

new Halloween Masks you get the saxton Hale mask.

Someone posted, 4 x refined + unusual metal = Halloween hat but I dont know if it true.

Yeah I heard about this too. Get in quick as Valve will fix it sooner rather than later :p

They fixed it already

Also fixes the Grenade Jumper damaging enemies, amongst other things.

    • Forza Horizon 6 gets big bug-fixing and balancing update by Taras Buria Today, Playground Games released a big Forza Horizon 6 update with a long list of fixes, patches, and balancing tweaks that the studio promised earlier. Version 375.327 is now available on Steam, Microsoft Store, and Xbox, offering users improvements for AI, audio, design, performance, road discovery, upgrades, visuals, online play, and more. Some of the most notable changes in the Series 2 update include rebalanced drivatars, particularly their difficulty and race start behavior. As such, the game should be more balanced on higher difficulty levels, and AI cars should not shoot out when the race starts as if they have rocket boosters. Speaking of difficulty, developers nerfed Drag Tires physics for a more expected and realistic behavior. They are no longer the go-to option for record-breaking times in road racing, and all leaderboard entries with drag tires will be removed. Completionists will also be glad to get a new feature that lets you see road discovery percentage in each region, which should make discovering all roads easier while keeping it quite challenging and interesting (I spent quite a long time finding the last road). Festival Playlist is also getting some much-needed fixes, including patches for bugs that allowed completing Seasonal Jobs ahead of time or where weekly challenges would not unlock for some players. Developers will retroactively give reward points to all who could not complete all challenges due to these bugs. Other changes include changes to Horizon Play progression so that it is easier to reach Level 100, audio improvements on lower-spec devices, fixes for visual glitches, including pixelated smoke, and more. Developers also addressed the currently non-working Eliminator, an online mode gamers used to farm credits with a Hummer EV exploit. Playground Games plans to re-enable it soon. As a gesture of goodwill, players will get a free McLaren Sabre. Those who used the exploit will not be banned, but developers plan to roll back credits to a maximum of 10M for all who farmed credits using the exploit. You can find the complete changelog for the latest Forza Horizon 6 update here.
