I happened to play on a server tonight with Larolaro of Polycount fame, who, when I joined the server, had spent ?90 ($145US) on gifts for everyone on the server, and then bought another pile o' gifts for everyone again, making it a grand total of ?105 (nearly $170). I asked him why he was doing this, to have him reply "I want to because you bought my stuff".

The TF2 community is a shining example of a great online community :)

Hi, I am a TF2 newbie. Just started playing. and honestly I am pretty clueless as to how to acquire new Items, how to craft new things other buying them and what are blueprints.

Some help please along with some tips. :)

Blueprints are here:

http://www.tf2items.com/crafting/blueprints.php

You can always check TF2 wiki for moer info:

http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Main_Page

New items can only be acquired through crafting, trading or random drop.

Or you can get some items via completing achievement milestones. Just complete a set number of achievements for a class and you get one of the items for it.

Example: Complete 5 Engineer achievements and get the Frontier Justice.

lameee

The basic jist is when you're playing, if you do well, the character will throw down that item as a bet alongside the chips, you beat them, you earn the item. This is a 'bonus round' if you like.

New update. Also, if you looks at the TF2 all-items there's a companion cube pin.

Team Fortress 2

Added the "Team Spirit" paint can.

Added Telltale Games items:

Dangeresque, Too?: Strong Bad's styling glasses (equipped by the Demoman)

License to Maim: Max's Badge (equipped by all classes)

The Iron Curtain: The Heavy's first love (equipped by the Heavy, obviously)

The Enthusiast's Timepiece: Tycho's favorite timepiece (equipped by the Spy)

Updated some item capabilities:

Employees badges can now have custom names.

The Stickybomb Jumper can now be gift wrapped.

The Spine-Chilling Skull and Voodoo Juju hats are now paintable.

Improved the Spine-Chilling Skull and Voodoo Juju hat positions on the Sniper.

Added the original Ubersaw taunt to the Vita-Saw.

Fixed an issue that prevented the game from running on Fat32 systems.

Fixed a problem with the Sackston Hale achievement sometimes not being awarded correctly.

Fixed the holiday gamestartup sound files being included in the random startup selection after the holiday is over.

Fixed numerous WebAPI issues.

Fixed a Heavy exploit that let him run at full speed while shooting.

Fixed a Frontier Justice exploit that let Engineers have infinite crits for their current life/round.

Fixed the shotgun reload animations for the Soldier/Pyro/Heavy looping endlessly.

Fixed the Medigun charge percent for other players being steppy.

Fixed not being able to light arrows after the first arrow is fired unless they're drawn back.

Updated the localization files

Wow, just decided to play TF2 again tonight, launch it, go through the options and notice a bunch of new settings (such as raw mouse input, which I am now using) that I had never seen before, try to get on my favorite server and apparently my fav server hasn't updated yet. >.<

Yeah the raw mouse input is very new, was released in the last day or so. Haven't had a chance to give it a go though but will try it tomorrow and see if I notice any differences.

A bunch of my favourite servers weren't updated either. In the end I gave up for the night :p

So it seems like the "Poker Night" items can be crafted. I have seen the "Iron Curtain" minigun (its the same as the stock minigun) and the game is not out yet. It could just be the minigun and you have to earn the other items from "Poker Night".

Telltale?s Poker Night at the Inventory, a poker game starring Team Fortress 2?s Heavy and Penny Arcade?s Tycho, among others, is set to launch on Monday. The game gives players the opportunity to win a series of exclusive items for TF2, and there?s a poker hat for the Heavy going as a preorder bonus. The game will be $5 at launch, but can be pre-ordered now for $4.50 on Steam. Head here for an overview of the items on offer, and here for the trailer.

Yep, a Heavy Token + Primary Token + Scrap gets you a 50% chance to get the new minigun.

On November 19th, three days before Poker Night's release, there was a 50/50 chance of crafting the Iron Curtain by using a Heavy class token, a primary weapon slot token, and a scrap. As of November 20th, this has been patched, and all Iron Curtains crafted this way have been made untradeable.

    • Steam Next Fest returns with thousands of new demos to try out by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Valve has been routinely kicking off demo festivals on Steam for years now, and the second drop of 2026 has just opened its doors. It's a great opportunity for any PC gamers to find some interesting games before they release. The June edition of Steam Next Fest is a week-long digital festival including gameplay slices from a large number of indie developers, though a few major publishers are involved this time too. Interested players can use the Next Fest hub page's various sorting and filtering options to easily sort through the hordes of demos available. The top buttons offer quick access to separate and important sorting options, including "By Genre, By Theme, By Feature," with each one offering more granular settings when clicked. At the same time, the built-in Steam tags system is also available below every page to discover new games more quickly. As always, logging in will also enable Steam gamers to utilize Valve's recommendation algorithms to find game demos they might like, specifically, depending on their past play and purchase histories. This time there is even a toggle now to swap between getting a random and personalized selection as Valve collects more data on the available demos. The Charts section is where you can find the most popular demos on the platform right now, offering up the most hyped titles in a simple list. Right at the kickoff, Mistfall Hunter, Empulse, Echoes of Aincrad, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Over the Hill, Mortal Shell II, and more are trending. Expect this list to change as the week progresses. This edition of the Steam Next Fest is slated to end on June 22 at 10 AM PT. Valve's latest event is now open, and it can be accessed by going to the dedicated hub page here.
    • I lived and breathed MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger. Going to the mess.be website (still online with no changes since 2013) to download display pictures etc. I was a beta tester for Messenger Plus! and spent quite a lot of time on the MsgPlus! forums (a read-only copy is still online at https://shoutbox.menthix.net) Some old Neowin articles also https://www.neowin.net/news/messenger-plus-350/ good times but how time flies
    • Well i'll look into a docking station if needed and use that.    Normally i don't usually have all the drives connected at once,  usually once a month to sync the latest files, and then they go back in there storage area
