Trophy Support List (Burnout Paradise Patch!)

Recommended Posts

No, 3.

Oh yea my mistake.

2 PSN games and 1 Retail game.

It is clear for everyone to see that developers are at least not interested in trophies at all (hence why they don't want to patch existing games). Good thing Sony will try and make them mandatory in 2009 so every game out after then will have them.

 Clear to see? The system has been out for a matter of months. Give it time, or can't you wait to slam Sony for something else, again?

Its a system that has been released during the shelf life of the console (not ideal, we all agree on that ), many developers will be more interested in their new projects. It really isn't a big deal for the majority of gamers who play for enjoyment and CBA with the E-penis extension that gamerpoints seemingly give you.

This is not a dig at Sony for late implementation, this is more a dig at the developers for not implementing such a ( on the surface ) simple feature.

Look at the current games with Trophy support? They surely had a big boost in sales just because of that. Why couldn't IW for an example, just copy over the Achievements from the 360 version of CoD4 and they might even see a slight boost in sales and an increase in online activity for a few weeks - That has to be worth it, right?

Uncharted Trophies! :D

Uncharted trophies are out in Europe

The day has come, one of Sony's best games has finally gotten the trophie treatment. The file is about 13MB and contains 47 trophies, 17 hidden ones and 1 platinum. Hopefully this will give people the incentive to play the game again; we know we will.

Playbeyond

Apparently only out in Europe so far. :D

Woop, just downloaded it, going to play.

Sweet, I still need to finish Uncharted so I'll check it out tonight.

Is the update on the store?

Nope, start the game and it will update, as long as you are in the EU.

You will also have to start a new game from the beginning as it isn't retroactive.

So you have to go pick up all those treasures again, lol.

So, I can't continue my game and gain trophies from there on in?

Not that I know of, they said that trophies wouldn't be retroactive and that you would need to start a new game, I think so the save game is then locked too.

I myself have to since I have already got all the treasures, so wouldn't get any of the trophies.

Ah, that's a bitch :(

At least I wasn't that far into the game.

This "Trophy" thing is such a mess. They should of planned this out from the beginning, rather then stepping to the microphone and announcing that they will not copy Microsoft game score system, but only to later on find out that it was a mistake, and try to incorporate this into games that have been released for awhile, and that people have already BEAT. Most people do not want to go re-visit a game for a second or third time.

It's sad to see such a mess, and but one can only hope they don't drop this and pretend nothing ever happened like they did with the backwards compatibility.

    • Wow, spoken like a true blind hater, you don't even provide arguments. Please, go check my comment above to @seacaptain and you'll find out why what you say doesn't make sense in this context...
    • Get used to this, with AI tooling now uncovering new vulns and getting them exploitable far faster than has ever been possible before software is going to need to be updated far more frequently. Back in the day it may take reseachers weeks or months to do what AI can now do in hours. Once its a threat is discovered it's weaponsized far more quickly, meaning you simply can't be waiting 2, 3, 4 weeks to deploy a patch, it needs to be patched immediately. Going to be interesting handling this in the enterprise space where traditionally patching has been steady, but very staged (and rightly so up until now), that is going to have to change.
    • You don't need to "close all browser sessions constantly" or wait for updates to install. The updates download in the background while you use the browser, without interrupting you, they install automatically the next time you launch the app. And they install very fast (depending on your storage speeds, of course), you have to wait at most 2-3 extra seconds, if any. Seems like you haven't used Edge in a loooooooong time...
