Killzone 2

I like how the colour palette for this game consists of 18 shades of black, grey, white and very little green  The more I look at screenshots the more I realise this games beautiful looks is all thanks to the advanced lighting system.

Still can't wait to see it with my own eyes and try out the game, all these ADHD previewers whom always seem to love everything! and the closed-knit beta testers who kiss the ground Sony walks on isn't doing it for me. ( That comment was not aimed at any Neowin members )

The game is intended to have this palette. It's supposed to be dull, drab and disturbing. It's a war zone. I've personally never heard about a war zone with tulips, butterflies and rainbows... have you?

hahaa that would be an interesting war zone.

This game really looks amazing.

Just a follow up on this.

Colours in your world is just flowers and butterflies? Have you ever seen pictures from a war zone? Just because guns are fired and tanks roll through the grass does not automatically turn grey, the sky does not turn black and everything does not turn into a 2-colour palette.

The grass is still green, the environment still has colours and buildings are still their original colours plus some destruction. I have no idea where this "remove all colours!!!" mentality came from, watching too much black and white footage from World War 1 & 2 perhaps?

So using "war zone" as an excuse for using a million shades of black and grey doesn't hold up in court, might be an atmosphere decision but it still looks boring, lame and even more boring. Not to mention its so much easier to hide low-res textures, funky optimizations and 'improve' on the graphics when you can hide everything.

We've seen like 1~2 levels of KZ2 guys.

And only 2~3 of the multiplayer.

1UP I believe said there's some pretty unique SP levels (think weather effects or something they said - like purple acid rain :p)

Clearly there's going to be some more big media blow outs closer to release, R2 will be getting the attention from now till release.

This is a very tired excuse. Nobody is asking for tulips and butterflies. The real world does not consist of just grey, black, and green. War doesn't automatically make things become monochrome or (dualchrome, what have you). I fail to see that you can't have rich, and varied colors in the textures in a war setting. Look at other war games; they don't look this drabby.

This is the same complaint I have of the MGS series. Why so much green!??

How about...Halo? :p you even get birds to shoot at in your free time.

The colour in the game is just fine...its awesome just seeing the helghast eyes bright orange running towords u! and the lighting in this game is stunning...the best looking game this year and its only a frecking beta!!

:(

counter argument? By no means, you don't like the color shading in the game, then just play viva pinata or some other crap, or just boost the color palette on your display...

I don't believe I remember saying I don't like the colours or style of the game?

I just think your "counter arguement" sucked big time.

so "lulz, whatever!"

(see what I did there) ;)

We Want YOU!

Your Feedback Helps Us Make The Game!

Are you a die-hard Killzone fanatic? Have you ever destroyed a squad of Helghast with a single M194 percussion grenade? Can you take out an ISA platoon armed with nothing but an StA-52 assault rifle? Prove it! Download the new Killzone 2 Multiplayer theme and you may be selected for the next phase of the beta trial.

Phase three of the Killzone 2 multiplayer beta trial is about to commence, and Guerrilla wants to offer you, the hardcore fan base, an opportunity to participate. In order to provide a stable and balanced multiplayer experience upon the game's release, we need worthy soldiers to enter the online battlefield and report their feedback to us. You don't have to use it

Just download it, you dont need to use it.

The idea is that as soon as the PlayStation Store registers that you have "purchased" (it's free, dont worry) this item, then your PSN account will be flagged as someone who is interested in the Killzone 2 trial.

This allows us to better pick our Beta Trialists and target the content effectively.

The camera motion is cool, but I think it'll make me throw up after a 30m session.

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
