Killzone 2

For a second I thought TeamXbox's review was 2/5 lol

Still can't believe the game is ready 2 months before sale, wtf..

Review builds have to go to Magazines this early.

They need to get the build, play through it, then put the article in time for the print which always comes a month early (eg. Feb print releasing in January).

I don't believe there's any mention of the game going gold yet, so I assume things can still change?

Yeah it's a bit earlier, but nothing that extreme. I guess the review embargo has just lifted earlier than normal for the world exclusive, as I still believe for most games review builds will have been sent out this early if they're being included in print.

The rest of the journalists need to wait till either the middle of this month, or beginning of February to post their reviews IIRC.

We're probably going to get a public MP demo to have things tweaked for launch, and then an advertising campaign to roll out.

Until it goes gold though, it's still being worked on...

nice sig and avatar Audio :D

Thanks man :D

I love the iconic red eyes of the Helghast, some of the coolest enemy designs around IMO. They just look bad ass!

By the way, from the poster on teamxbox

febopmrfy7.jpg

He's not doing any other scans though, as it's against the rules on teamxbox. The wait ensues for someone else to get the mag.

It looks like that scan might even be pre-print? :/ Info missing on the front of the mag. Maybe it's not actually in stores yet.

I just read Audioboxer's big post about the story. Pretty interesting story. Looking forward to get this game.

Ya I read that too. although I swear i read this story before... perhaps in history class.

That Scolar Visari reminds me of a little guy called Adolf Hitler.

Can't wait, looks amazing.

Need news about a demo over here though.

And as to the story, I would assume that there is some big twist at some point, like aliens or soemthing, there's always aliens in these games.

Maybe Killzone is all a prequel to Resistance 2. :shiftyninja:

I demand scans of the "earn trophies the easy way" article.

Rofl.

"Secretly sneak into Corris house and change his account details to yours, causing him to play games and earn you trophies"

:p

It's happening everywhere, read the original teamxbox topic first coming out with the 5/5 review (although I do agree that territory probably wasn't the best place to announce a KZ2 review )

And also this topic - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=347594

Tons of unnecessary hate, but it tends to happen with any game that could be good, instead of just wanting to try it and/or enjoy it, some people set their goals to try and find anything wrong they can, or verge on making up **** just to downplay a game.

A game that's not even released at that

I think most of it is happening after the render at E32005, a lot of people just wanted to see this game fail and sink - Sadly for them it looks like Guerilla got their act together when making KZ2 and these people are now disappointed they aren't going to see the title go up in fireworks.

That's probably why you get so many "But KZ1 was mediocre, KZ2 can't be much better" remarks.

In fact, it's on the verge of potentially being something quite special, which is the kicker for some.... Technically it already is something special, we're just waiting to see how it plays now.

But we'll see, not long now till we can try it out and see how good the game really is, all this rampant speculation aside.

True, but for some strange reason it seems to be happening more so with anything Sony/PS3. Not really sure why these people want to see the PS3 fail?

Because it's not a popular console in many corners of the gaming community, then you have the anonymous + Internet combination factoring in and there you have it. I don't see why this comes as a surprise really.

The only places a console becomes really unpopular to the point of hate mongering is amongst the hardcore and internet communities.

The majority of gamers out there, that will make up the 100's of millions that will buy consoles this generation just buy in-line with what games and features they like the looks of and/or what their friends have. The consoles they don't want or buy, they just ignore, not nuke to hell.

We on this forum, are somewhat in the minority believe it or not :p

Just my views on it.

However as I said above, every big release gets this treatment from fanboys as any release that's going to get acclaim/praise comes as a threat to them, however sad that sounds.

KZ2 just may be getting a bit more heat as there's leverage for more attacking due to the fact KZ1 was mediocre, and as I said above, the E3 pre-render. The KZ1 talk may well be legitimate, you do judge a studio by the work it's done previously, but some of the comments are quite silly, as it's clear KZ2 is at least technically leaps and boundaries over what KZ1 brought to the PS2.

Just gotta ignore it and let the game do the talking. If it's amazing it's amazing, if it's good it's good, if it's not, it's not. Words on a forum won't change that :p

    • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
    • Same, never saw it on Android or iOS. Guess only some people got it *shrugs*
