No sources, and there's no confirmation whatsoever that the beta was even set up with ranks, people are just talking about badges for the beta.

No need to go to panic stations guys :p You seriously think a developer of an FPS title, especially something like KZ2, is going to be making everything obtainable in a weeks play? :p

Watch the devs talking about MP here...

Starts 8 mins for MP - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-UaRN71XL0

Ends 4 mins in - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ummHRrA7D_Y

They highlight their goal of keeping players playing for a long length of time.

You say that like every 'quality' title just need to have slow progression. Plenty of games offer very quick rank progression, there's a lot of people out there who prefer it like that. Me wanting slow progression is purely a preference matter. Call of Duty 4 had very quick rank progression ( Excluding prestige because that's not additional ranks, just a reset ), Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 turned up the speed about 2000%. Took me less than a week or two to reach Elite in V2 and played V1 for over a year, 15 hours a week minimum and never reached elite.

So no need to put it like that, as if slow progression is just to be expected in big games.

I'm not talking about "slow progression" as such, I'm talking about having lots to unlock and obtain also.

Watch the multiplayer talk above, they talk about ribbons and medals as well, for say getting like 10 headshots that will unlock a specific type of grenade. Obviously there will be harder things than 10 headshots.

Not purely talking about exp based leveling up here.

Taking a week to level up to the max is a blessing since people go through CoD in a matter of days.

But we will have to wait and see how it works it seems, was no one here in the beta? lol

Gonna be getting it for sure. Why cant Feb 27 get here any sooner.

And I'll probably join the clan too.

Woo!

Now just to see about Kol the invincible, lol.

It was never planned but we were open to the idea one day. With Killzone 2's clan features though it just makes sense to bring the clan to the PS3.

Insomniacs was chosen because it describes us as gamers, I mean, you and I are still on Neowin at 5pm. Its a perfect fit :p

Ack, I suppose you have me there, lol.

I was on Neowin at stupid o'clock in the morning because I was playing fallout till then.

So What you going to do with the Clan topic? Move it tot he gamers hangout or make a separate one?

Or are us Ps3 gamers stuck with having to trawl through the Xbox section. :p

When the time gets closer I'll ask a mod to move it to the general GH section.

Bit late to the party, but I basically just lurk a lot these days and don't bother with posting that much - but I'll join any clan for KZ2 as well... I usually play an average of an hour a day whenever I am really in to something, so I guess I'll be quite active.

I will be around for KZ2 multi-player. I know everyone with a PS3 is getting this game on launch so should be a lot of people online.

I picked up a Dual Shock 3 today. I have to say I don't know how I used to game without looking forward to Killzone 2 with rumble. It is the small things in life.

Nah PCs will still pump out better visuals.

It's just amazing though getting something this polished and good looking on a console with 7.1 HD audio to boot.

The art direction goes a long way to making it appear better/rivalling anything on the PC, but in terms of sheer pixel pumping and resolution the PC will win, as always. Thing is though, you need the PC to be able to do that :p

It can't get a port as Guerilla games are exclusively signed on to only make games for the PS platforms (PSP/PS2/PS3)...

Yeah SOE [sony Online Entertainment] do, but none of the other studios ever do, at least not like how it is on the 360 at times [PC ports of mainstream 360 games].

This maintenance-focused release includes bug fixes, updated translations, and a range of safe enhancements. This release fixes a Windows security issue that could allow arbitrary file deletion during privileged cleaning (reported by Zeze with TeamT5). It also adds new cleaners (including a DNS cache cleaner, Claude Code, and Visual Studio Code forks), support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles, new deep scan options for developer directories like node_modules and venv, and safer, faster file shredding. All Platforms Added cleaners for Claude Code, DNS cache, and many Visual Studio Code forks. Added support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles. Chrome can now clean downloaded AI models. Deep Scan can optionally remove venv, __pycache__, node_modules, and .angular directories. Deep Scan is faster by skipping directories on the keep list. File shredding is safer, faster, and leaves fewer recoverable traces. Improved handling of cookies, symlinks, Unicode filenames, external processes, and configuration files. Improved Expert Mode warnings and long warning dialogs. Fixed crashes related to cleaner detection, invalid Unicode, and malformed cleaner data. Clipboard is now cleared automatically after shredding files via paste operations. Linux Added AppImage support. Fixed startup crashes when Python Requests is unavailable. Windows Fixed a security vulnerability that could allow arbitrary file deletion when cleaning with elevated privileges. Added %WindowsSystem% variable support. Improved clipboard clearing using native Windows APIs. Improved installer experience on unsupported Windows versions. Reduced installer size and improved application robustness. Fixed Unicode handling, filename anonymization, Git revision reporting, and splash screen stability. • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
