Can't wait for this, pre-ordered on play.com for the skin. Has so much buzz going on about it right now, I think everyone is so excited about it even those 'hardened' gamers seem to love the whole idea behind it.

How dare this go to page 2 :p

Rob Smith, brother of Mm ubercoder “Yellowhead” Dave brings us photos of the LBP Pop Up Shop from the wilds of Manchester. According to the email the nice people there “get children and business men to draw pictures of sackboy with crayons then play bits of the game and be shown how to make things with Popit. It sounds like they all come away pleasantly baffled.”

Pleasantly baffled is what we at Mm aim for. Well done Manchester!

The shop is open until October 4th and there will be lots of special events and workshops during that time. Click here for more info, and you can see a few more photos here.

That shop looks sooo cool. Think I'm gonna have to go visit it when I'm in Manchester in a couple of weeks.

In fact, there's not thinking about it, I WILL visit it in two weeks :D

ps. I would love to have that sketch artwork from picture 2 in my bedroom!

LittleBigPlanet Theme/Beta Application in Japanese PS Store

Written by Sev1512

Right now, in the Japan PS Store, there is a new LittleBigPlanet Theme, that also acts as a Beta application much like the recent PlayStation Home theme/application.

Not sure if this will work for US or EU PS3’s but its worth a shot of you have a JP account.

Good Luck…

I want the beta application, not the theme :p

By the way im off to see my girl in Dundee today till friday, so if Eurogamer do LBP beta keys or something like they did with Socom, if someone nabs me one, I'll love you long time ;)

Those of you who are anticipating the LittleBigPlanet beta will be happy to know that we've got some of the juicy details right here for you. Japanese PS3 owners can currently head to the PS Store and download a LBP theme that will also allow you to enter a drawing for the LBP beta, similar to the Home one that was held awhile back.

According to the details given, applications to the beta will be accepted from September 17th to September 23rd. The beta itself will take place from September 29th to October 12th. The size of the file will be 950MB. In each region (Japan, Europe and North America), 20,000 users will be selected for a total of 60,000 users. Hopefully we'll hear about how North America and Europe can get in on the act soon.

    • No. The file manager is a lost cause. After all, its dev receives all the undeserved praise he could evre wish from Neowin, without having actually earned it. This has never lead to improvements.

    • I know I won't ever be using it to make my game. I'd rather pay humans.
    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
