Quote of the day, NBC: "People are probably confused as to why there's Karate being performed around school children."

Wow... Karate... Someone give them a lecture on how Taichi is not part of Karate.... Seriously..

The opening was great, not spectacular, and a bit over hyped. The standout was the lighting of the "cauldron". Now that was amazing!

Not to mention Karate is Japanese!!!

Wow, It's totally fantasitic, especially the lighting effects, yet not to mention the display technology.

And my fav. is the 29 steps of big foot made of sparkle , which comes directly to the stadium from far away in the darkness.

Does anyone else has the same feeling of watching a big movie?

/I can't believe NBC kept cutting to retarded ads for TV shows and Budweiser during the march of the nations every five minutes!

<3 BBC Not a single advert during the whole Olympics (or ever :p)

Watching the basketball at the moment, the US women are naturally owning the Czechs, watched the volleyball last night. One sport I don't get is the silly horse trick stuff "Equestrian" I don't get how they call that a sport at all.

I wish I had BBC HD :(

Anyone else found the bbc coverage to be a bit naff?

The commentary has been in and out, even though you can hear the technical people speak. While watching the sailing, a tech bloke said "say ben jive" then the commy says ben jive. It wasn't any better in gymnastics either.

I'm also finding the chinese are having problems, cameras onboard boats or bikes freeze often, the main feed stops every now and then for a second. While watching the sailing, the picture was really screwed, it was like the picture was still scanning and getting muddled up.

    • Vivaldi ftw, as an old Opera user I've been using it everywhere since the very first preview. My only wish is I could use it at work, but alas, no luck so far. The only allowed options are Chrome or Edge, and while I hate Chrome with a passion and I would much rather use Edge than Chrome, the company policy limits Edge customizations a lot more than it limits Chrome for some reason, and some of those are things I just can't live without, so I have to suffer with Chrome where even tab switching is a pain...

Running in the MS Windows environment, its use is governed by GPL License. Based on the powerful editing component Scintilla, Notepad++ is written in C++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL which ensures a higher execution speed and smaller program size. By optimizing as many routines as possible without losing user friendliness, Notepad++ is trying to reduce the world carbon dioxide emissions. When using less CPU power, the PC can throttle down and reduce power consumption, resulting in a greener environment. Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. The Tor software protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody from watching your Internet connection and learning what sites you visit, it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location, and it lets you access sites which are blocked. The Tor Browser Bundle lets you use Tor on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux without needing to install any software. • Less disk space means less bandwidth demands which means lower operating costs for service providers... that's where money talks. ... cuz it's not about improving video quality!... that's just marketing spin.
