Lost - Season 5

Great! Damon indirectly just proved all of our theory on the time issue and Carlton confirmed it by avoiding it due revealing too much information. hap.gif

Ajira people, Locke, Sun, and Lapidus are in the time line with Alpert + Others (who are in the temple) in 2009. Hurley, Jack, Kate and probably Sayid are in the 1970s. Next weeks episode, La Fleur, is going to be freaking awesome.

But Ben isn't the villain. Widmore is.

Ben just uses any means necessary to achieve his goals.

That's what they want us to believe :D

First he was THE villain, then he's not. Oh wait, maybe he's STILL the villain. This is Lost, I don't know who's what anymore...

'Widmore is the "big bad" of the show'

Either Lindelof or Cuse said it.

I listened to the latest audio podcast today (I've never listened to one before, was procrastinating from essay work). They seemed the be hinting that Ben might be the greater villain, which honestly I hadn't really considered too much but after todays episode I am starting to think that might be the case.

I guess we're all just as clueless as Locke..

Perhaps it WAS Desmond who beat up Ben, not in defending Penny, but Ms. Hawking. I think it's been determined that Penny's boat could not have made the trip from Great Britain to California in that short of time, but *somebody* has a boat at the marina, since that is where the group has met before - maybe it's Ms. Hawking.

Since his conversation with Locke, Ben knows there is a connection between Widmore and Hawking. Killing Hawking, and possibly destroying the Lamp Post, would hurt Widmore's chances of finding the Island again.

Maybe after Desmond left the Lamp Post the first time, he returned to get a further explaination from Hawking, and she told him to meet her at her boat for some reason. Ben arrrived at her boat shortly before Desmond and attempted to kill her.

One of the questions I have is why Daniel thought Ms. Hawking was still at Oxford. I guess this is explained by the fact that he went on the mission in 2004, and might not know of their banishment from Oxford.

Theres no indication of how much time has passed between oxford and them arriving in california theres no reason why Ms Hawking would ask to meet at the port im assuming she lives at the lamppost, why would Ben try to harm Ms Hawking shes the only person who could get them back to the island, the only people that would be at port is Desmond and Penny.

*edit* Just tried to work it out, im not sure how fast Pennys boat goes but at 10 knots even at linear distance thats not including having to sail round landmass its like 5000 miles that would take over a month.

It cant be Penny and Desmond then, maybe he took a flight from London.

Thats odd who could it be at the port then.

Whatever got Ben those injuries, it certainly has nothing to do with Penny/Desmond (as Desmond didn't make it to the plane). Giving the fact that Sayid was in handcuffs (and escorted by a police officer), I assume Ben had him fooled to beat him or something, so he got in trouble with the law... etc

Trivial aside: Ben must have wrote Locke's "suicide note" & made sure it "reappeared" in Jack's hands to steadily influence him towards the "faith side".

Boy, I really like the show/series.

Locke wrote his suicide note before starting the attempt.

Once Ben got the info about Ajira Flight 316, Hawking was no longer needed by Ben - he was going to take that flight.

Jill(?), at the butcher shop mentioned somebody that I don't believe we've seen, perhaps it's their boat (or Jill's, for that matter). Maybe Ben went on a killing spree before he took off - not knowing how many of *his* people were actually working for Widmore.

I hope not, but, yeah, Penny would be a primary target for Ben, and she did indicate she would be going with Desmond to L.A. - she could be a goner. For drama, that would be perfect.

I believe in the show's finale, it'll show the character's finale renunion & the conclusion on how they get back to their life & continue from there. Or maybe a last cliff hanger that would leave us wanting more Lost? :p

I would be seriously ****ed off if they end Lost with a cliffhanger.

And I dont buy the theory that Ben's act of murdering Locke was a knee-jerk reaction to Locke knowing about Hawkings. Ben always has a plan and rarely does anything impulsively. Plus, him having gloves and cleaner further suggest that he always intended to murder Locke.

For some reason he didn't want Locke to commit suicide. May be that would have prevented from coming back as if he had committed suicide he would have been reduced to a complete failure (from being someone very special).
