Lost - Season 5

Recommended Posts

After Locke fixed the position of the Donkey Wheel, he was transported to 2008 with a lag time of 3 years. So, three years was "frozen" for Locke before he ended up in Tunisia.

James, Juliet, Daniel, Miles and Jin were stuck in 1974 after the last time shift. So, they ended up living three years with the DI because of that. Three years later (1977), they are fully integrated into the DI.

Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, and Sun lived three years off the Island after Locke moved the Donkey Wheel. Once Ben/Locke got them together, another flash occurred in 2008 that took Kate, Jack, Sayid and Hurley back in time to 1977.

Meanwhile, Sun, Ben, Lapidus, Locke, Caesar and rest of the 316 passengers are in 2008.

Ben doesn't technically kill everyone, only his father. The Purge happened in December 19, 1992.

We sitll dont have a confirmation that the 316 passengers are in 2008, but I guess it's pretty much obvious at this point. But who knows, before this ep I guess nobody knew 3 years would pass for the 815 ones ON the island.

Anybody else wondering where the hell the other 815 survivors are what could have happened to them? after all they're on the island with the dharma and the hostiles at war! do you think they joined the others?

It is.

Actually, some of us agreed there would have been 3 years history on the Island for the people in the flashes.

I think that's what James and Jin have been searching for, sector by sector. If not, they've probably been looking for Locke to return. So, if any of the other 815/Freighter people survived during the three year interval, I think at this point they are either dead or somehow managed to become natives.

Rose and Bernard are probably the two dead people in the caves.

It is.

Wow thats a far out there suggestion! :|

Anyone know where the Orchid is on the map? I've been trying to find an updated map with that on it but have failed.

I'm trying to see where it is relative to the 4 toed statue.

I believe Rose and Bernard are the only ones left. Thats why they brought the 2nd plane of people.

As for the statue... I think those ears from behind looked a lot like the ears of hypopotams. My theory is that it must be Tawaret.

Tawaret 'The Great One' Appearance:

  • Head of a hippopotamus with the arms and legs of a lion, the back and tail of a crocodile, and the breasts and stomach of a pregnant woman.

Tawaret was a goddess who protected women during pregnancy and childbirth.

Yes, I know the statue had feet like those of man only with four fingers. :s

Seeing as they have assigned the people with jobs that suit them I would assume he will be at the Orchid.

Good theory. Only thing is that we should at some point see him talk at the little red dressed girl, he called her Charlotte. And if anyone remembers, when Charlotte was dying, she told Dan that it's not her first time on the island and that she's been there when she was little, and a man told her that if she came back again to the Island, she would die (which happened), and that man (as she tells him) is Dan himself.

Only problem is that Charlotte wouldn't have been alive in 1974.

According to the information Ben recited, Charlotte was born in 1979.

Ben did say that charlotte was born 1979 but remember charlotte said she and her mother moved off of the island when they where very young (Because of "The incident" ?) so maybe Charlotte's mother lied about her age if Charlotte was born on the island in order to protect her from Dharma and try to forget about (terrible?) time on island.

Indeed. Still, according to Lostpedia, her birth certificate could have been falsified by Widmore to avoid any trace of her being born on the Island (he doesn't want anyone to know about the Island). So, she could have left the Island in '79 and that was the official BD. Especially that Widmore is the one who recruited her (along with Dan, Miles...). He's picked everyone of them for their "relationship" to the Island.

Only problem is that Charlotte wouldn't have been alive in 1974.

Could this be the incident?

Daniel made Charlotte push the TDW. Causing her to be frozen in time for a couple of years like Locke. Presumably, she pushed the TDW in 1977-1979 and got back to Tunisia in early 1980s. So, people who found her (possibly her mother who left the Island finding out Charlotte is off Island) aged her around 1979 as date of birth since a couple of years were frozen for her. Daniel probably did it from same information Locke was provided, those who move the wheel are banished from the Island. Though, we know this to be false.

And so, after the flashes started happening (1977-1979), the Swan was put into effect.

This would explain the date of birth discrepancy for Charlotte and Daniel's work with the Orchid.

Though, if Daniel and Charlotte pushed the TDW together, that would mean Daniel being transported in 2008+ and Charlotte somewhere in 1980s. Daniel wouldn't be able to go with Charlotte due to paradoxes, can't have two Daniels running around in 1980s.

edit: This would also explain why Charlotte ended up going to Tunisia to find the polar bear buried there, she found out where she was found in Tunisia...

Upon what I said about the Scientific team been recruited (by Widmore) for their relationship with the Island, it got me thinking what's Miles' ? and I think Miles could be Chang's son!

That has been suggested several times, and it looks like to be an accurate theory so far.

Well, we know that the FDW has to get turned at least once more, because the people currently in 1977 are not going to live the rest of their lives there.

Yeah, it'll be really interesting how they progress the story and unite the two timelines. Man ho man.... this two week break is going to be rough :(

    • +1 on XVI. I still use it.
    • Age 16, old enough to get a full-time job, your own bank account, a passport, get married, even join the military and go to war. But talking to your friends on the internet? Oh hell no!
    • I remember when all games had demos; it was a normal thing, not a limited time promotion.
