Lost - Season 5

Recommended Posts

A quick question, do we know the exact year Ben (and his father) arrived to the Island ?

Lostpedia states: "Sometime in the 1970s, Roger took a job with the DHARMA Initiative, courtesy of the same couple that was present when his wife died."

So no, not the exact year unfortunately.

Well, we know that the FDW has to get turned at least once more, because the people currently in 1977 are not going to live the rest of their lives there.

Have I missed something, or is that speculation? I know the natural progression of the story line would suggest both groups re-uniting, but is there any proof that this is going to happen yet?

Yeah plus we have thought of 3 choices Anubis,Horus and some other one that my mind has forgotten.

Actually, it can't really be Horus. Horus is always shown with a bird head (no ears) and the statue clearly has ears.

Horus is also usually shown wearing what I would describe as a crown, which this statue doesn't have.

The other thing, the pregnant guy, doesn't have human feet.

That said, the picture above doesn't prove much. Most of the Egyptian deities are shown holding at least one Ankh at all times.

I'm not sure if it's been proven that the 4 toed statue is actually the same we've seen in LaFleur.

The size of the statue plus the location added to the fact its the only statue we have seen so far everythings adding up that it is.

Well that's the thing Rappy :) The location. If you wanted to look at the 4 toed for exactly behind and from the same distance as did Sawyer/Mile/Jin/Juliet, you must be somewhere in the middle of that mountain. here look:

Now, look how the other statue looked to them:

- they and the statue seem to be in the same level.

- therefore, no mountain behind that one.

A bonus, is that the color of the material used to "build" the 4toed is more of a white, and more of red in the other one.

I'm not saying that they ARE NOT the same. I'm just saying, there's more proof they're not the same that they are. IMO.

Yeah I see your point, the statue there could be new and over time stuff weathers plus the fact the island does move and the statue might of been on land...there's so much we need to know really...it look tho the statue is looking out over something...

uyb38up87qn7ltayh0bl.png

Its possibly been thousands of years. Therefore the statue aged and the color washed out. Also, as you can tell from the sky, it seems to be dusk, which would tint everything pinkish.

If you look at the location of the Orchid and the statue on the lost map, it puts it exactly in the right place. May the elevation be a bit off? Yeah, but its the same statue.

Also, I don't think the Lost map is always right, in fact I think they have a lot of stuff too close together, but in this case they are more right than wrong.

I was reading Four-toed statue theories and I found "Evidence why it's Anubis"

* The Countdown in the hatch reads Underworld, Anubis Is the god of the underworld

* Looks like it has pointed ears and a headdress

* Looks like it could be holding an ankh in its right hand.

* The clothes it's wearing look like those that Anubis wears in common drawings.

* Hurley was drawing a sphinx, which is Egyptian, just before Jeremy Bentham came to visit him.(The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham)

* Tunisia (where "the exit" is) is awfully close to Egypt.

* The clothes resemble those of any Egyptian god and it looks as if the statue is holding ankhs in both hands.

* Paul's necklace was an ankh as well. (LaFleur)

* The statue looks like Anubis, the Egyptian god of the dead and gatekeeper of the underworld from the Egyptian Old Kingdom period.

I have to agree with episode, also there are some things I don't agree with there like the pointy ears...I am not sold on that atm...I can see they are pointy but not as pointy as anubis but it could be the angle we are looking from.

Exactly. They aren't the huge, straight up ears like Anubis usually has, but they are definitely there, so therefore it isn't Horus.

    • KillerPDF 1.5.1 by Razvan Serea KillerPDF is a lightweight, portable PDF editor for Windows built for users who want full control without subscriptions, installers, or telemetry. It runs as a single executable, making it ideal for USB use and field work. You can view PDFs with smooth PDFium rendering, navigate quickly with thumbnails, zoom, and shortcuts, and reorganize pages using drag-and-drop. It supports merging multiple PDFs, splitting documents, and extracting selected pages. KillerPDF also allows inline text editing with font matching to preserve the original layout, plus annotations like text boxes, freehand drawing, highlights, and reusable signatures. You can search full text, copy content easily, and print documents with flattened annotations. Designed as a free and open alternative to bloated PDF tools, it works fully offline on Windows 10/11 x64. No runtimes install. Everything needed is inside the EXE (targets .NET Framework 4.8, which ships with every supported Windows release). KillerPDF key features: High-quality PDF rendering via PDFium Edit PDF text inline (double-click to modify text) Page thumbnails and fast navigation with zoom and shortcuts Merge multiple PDFs into one Split PDFs and extract selected pages Drag-and-drop page reordering Font matching to preserve original document appearance Text boxes for notes Freehand drawing tools Highlight overlays with adjustable color, size, opacity Undo actions and clear per-page annotations Create, draw, and save reusable signatures Click-to-place signatures anywhere Full-text search with highlighted results Drag-select or Ctrl+A to copy text Print with annotations flattened Portable single-file app (~10 MB) No installer, no admin rights required No account, no telemetry KillerPDF 1.5.1 changelog: Performance Save Flattened PDF now uses multiple CPU cores. Page rasterization is parallelized (PNG encoding runs across cores; the PDFium render step stays serialized since the library isn't thread-safe), so large documents flatten significantly faster while the UI stays responsive (#68). Fixed PDFs that failed to open with "Unexpected EOF" now open (#72). The failure was PdfSharpCore's Flate inflater (SharpZipLib) rejecting the FlateDecode cross-reference stream on multi-revision PDFs - files that open fine in browsers, Acrobat, and Foxit. KillerPDF now detects this and re-opens the file losslessly through PDFium, preserving selectable text. Thanks to @javajon for the report and a detailed reproduction. Grid view renders every page. It was capped at the first 26 pages, so longer documents stopped loading partway through. Tiles also stream in progressively now instead of blocking until the whole document is rendered. Grid Ctrl+Scroll no longer reloads every page when the zoom is already at its limit and nothing would change. Removed a stray horizontal scrollbar (a thin green line) that could appear across the bottom of grid view. Files on UNC / network shares (including the WSL \\wsl$ filesystem) are copied locally before opening, avoiding partial-read failures on network filesystems. Changed Minimum zoom lowered from 10% to 5%, so grid view can pack more columns (helpful for wide/landscape pages) and single-page view can zoom out further.
