Wow thats smart the creators of the show calling the fans idiots for having issues with the show, i was on the fence and i couldnt care less if i never saw another episode of universe.

He just lost a fan.

Uh, if you didn't care if you saw another episode, guess what: you weren't a fan. Regardless of your username on here.

I thought it sucked at first, but episode 5 was pretty decent...will continue to watch!

yeah I thought the first 3 episodes weren't amazing but I stuck with it and glad I have, I have never seen Atlantis not once so to me I have nothing to judge this to in previous series.

I will continue to watch it but it's sort of meh with me. I could take it or leave it at this point.

same, although I nearly fell asleep during the last episode which again was predictable (Who really didn't see a cave-in/fall happening?) and the writer getting all emo about it is pretty funny tbh, sure the fans online can act like pricks but they do have valid concerns and calling them idiots is hillarious

you really need to see it. It started off slow but it got really good IMO during the later seasons. The characters were perfect in the show IMO, even better than SG-1 had been. The dynamic between McKay and Sheperd was amazing, like it really felt like they were best friends IRL like they were on the show, and they probably were but just saying it came off that well between them.

I'll probably crash course it next summer during the down season

While I can't argue its slow I don't think thats exactly a bad thing. Too many shows are cancelled so quickly that they have to rush into the action right away. SGU seems like it wants to set the foundation slowly. With it picking up at the end of the season and carrying over to the next. Renewal is pretty much in the bag they don't have to worry about pulling the big guns to get the network hooked. Some parts do seem to drag on longer than they should but there's enough activity to keep switching between characters to keep me interested.

Atlantis is good but very different. It was better paired with SG1 as it was more humorous whereas SGU is more serious. But I will agree McKay and Sheppard were great together. Ford was really awesome too before they killed off his character. Sheppard is the only true O'Neill worthy character.

Going backwards I think Atlantis won't seem as good as it was. Having watched it before SGU I can still enjoy it but after watching SGU it seems like the whole series is a joke, even the serious moments aren't very serious. The other drawback is the advanced technology, just seems cheesy and fake compared to the more real feel of SGU. Does that make any sense? :s

yea you should, atlantis was quality tv when it was on.

Yeah, but it wasn't nearly as good after they got rid of Weir. I also liked Ford and the Doctor. If they had been able to retain their core cast, they might have been even more exciting.

I like the new SG:U. The drama on it make it so I can really connect with the characters and unlike SG1, and SGA, there are some characters you really really want to hate, and some you feel so sad for.. (like Eli watching the hot girl get it from the soldier and the black dude just being a general asswipe that you wanna punch out if you ever saw him). But then as you watch you realise its that stuff which makes the show really well done, you wanna watch it to find out what happens to the characters you like and hate. That is what has kept me watching it so far.

I do agree however it has lost some of it's SCI FI elements, we are 5 episodes in now and haven't seen a seasons big bad or met any aliens from another world yet - its just all been the Destiny and it's crew.

Still, SG:U has me as a watcher until its cancelled :)

Wow, this new Stargate show might actually be good. I'm looking forward to it but I don't like the fact that we'll have to wait until summer for the actual episodes. The 2-hour movie should be good. The longer, the better. :)

What? It's already aired all 6 eps on syfy. Try here to watch them at your leasure.

You do realise his post was from August which was before the show started airing so he has probably seen it from the start.

see i'm the opposite, I hated Weir the most on that show and was glad when they got rid of her. IMO that's when the show got extremely good. I was only shocked and saddened by the doctor, but I was so glad for Weir.

^ Not at all man, the story got so weak at that point. All about Michael and Todd. Got really boring. First 3 were better.

Thought it was just me :)

well, yea, the first 3 seasons were the best.

Wow I just read Mallozzi's commentary. I can understand his feelings, but there is a LOT of generalisation in those comments.

"A dissenting minority feels free only when it can impose its will on the majority; what it abominates most is the dissent of the majority." -Hoffer

What the heck, have you seen episodes 3 and 6 yet? Based on that comment, I am guessing you haven't...the tiny little sand aliens!!!!!!!!!

Uh, if you didn't care if you saw another episode, guess what: you weren't a fan. Regardless of your username on here.

Please.... i have full box set of sg-1 s1-10, i have both SG-1 movies, i have the original Stargate movies on that many different versions of DVD and Blu-Ray releases i lost count, i have all 5 seasons of Atlantis, i have posters, figures, models, replica SG-1 jacket, P90 Airsoft gun made to look like the ones from the show, personal autographs from many of the cast of SG-1. Believe me i am a stargate fan.

But i dont appreciate being called an idiot just because i share some of the views of the so called 'haters', people might think it a little bit extreme just to stop watching but i have invested so much time and money into Stargate for one of the creators to turn round and call me an idiot just because i dont jizz over his latest work is pathetic and he doesnt deserve my money or my continued loyalty.

The thing that bothered me with Atlantis, was the fact that there was very little Atlantis, more so at the middle to end of the series. I was hoping more cool explorations and troubles directly on the city. More Ancient discoveries, way more outposts. But it turned out to be mainly a wraith thing. Which dont get me wrong some wraith battles / episodes were pretty sweet. But I was disappointed with Atlantis personally. Thats hwy I hope SGU will cover some more stuff about the ancients and their technology.

Don't expect any of that to happen in season 1. Season 1 is only personal drama. And, I can't say I like this new series. If I want to watch a drama, there are much better drama shows out there. The writers and producers should work to improve their scripts rather than accusing their fan base.

No one called you an idiot.. He was talking about those who made asinine comments on the blog. Your taking this a bit personal. He'll still get paid with or without your loyalty.

The guy does seem like a bit of hot head, he should be able to take the crit. He won't be laughing if the show goes down the pan...

    • Good. I hope more people sue them for focusing on this worthless junk.
    • How about fire the guy who approved all the bad decisions? The guy who bought these studios in the first place? Oh wait, Satya is safe with his billions while the workers pay the price.
