We do not play at our best tonight, clearly not. But we do the job, and we do it fantasticily sometimes. And also terrible some other time. Porto put quite a pressure on the second leg, it was very tense but we managed to control them. Ferdinand certainly did some good and brought us back the defense quality we had not so long ago. Rooney was very good on the wing and he did well defensively.

Now it's going to be another challenge facing Gunners, they are stronger than ever at this time. Good Job Arsenal tonight.

Well since my boys are out, LETS GO ARSENAL

Normally I would agree, but I want United to play as many games as possible to help us in our league hunt xD

A little piece of me died inside.

Normally I'd never cheer for United but that CL final was an exception. I laughed my nuts off when terry fell flat on his butt and scuffed his pen

Well, it's simple. Since Drogba arrived in Chelsea they won two leagues and gone to the C1 final last year. And one FA Cup and two League Cup. And in one year with Marseille he was in a C3 final. I just assumed he is a more decisive player than Torres. Fernando "just" won one European Cup with Spain. I know it's a big trophy and he was the one who scored in the final. You have to give him some time and maybe he will win something with his club, but as a Man Utd supporter I honestly don't believe it that much. ;)

So you are basing the individual talent of a player on how much their teams do or don't win? What an amusing argument  especially seeing as Chelsea essentially only one anything because of abramovic's millions

That logic is flawed

One player alone doesn't win trophies.

+1

Excellent gesture that, and greatly appreciated (Y)

Indeed. Nice of the United boys that they have earnt a bit more of my respect (Y)

English teams in the final...

2005 - Liverpool

2006 - Arsenal

2007 - Liverpool

2008 - Man Utd/Chelsea

2009 - Man Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal

Crazy.

Yeah its amazing, there was one time where no English team could really get to the final it was all madrid.

Indeed. Nice of the United boys that they have earnt a bit more of my respect (Y)

I'm going to stop arguing with you, you just broke all the fun that I had discussing with a Liverpool fan. You are like Martyn, you two can't see clearly outside of your fanboyisme, it's sad. Maybe I had one thought (or a laugh more possibly) for you when we play the semi.

I find this equally amusing:

I suppose United have no money in the bank! I think not, United are the wealthiest club in the world and also use MONEY to buy players as do all the other big clubs!

Quite frankly a ludicrous comparison!

Good wins for Man U and The Arsenal tonight!

Frank was actually saying something nice about your club, as was I before.

What you have just said has really grated on me though. Fanboyism? I'm sitting here having just got through one of the saddest days of my life, having cried my eyes out at the memorial service at Anfield this afternoon along with thousands of others, and now being confronted with Hillsborough all over the telly, Internet and papers. Then there is you, I doubt you could even point out Manchester on a map, never mind having been to a game.

Think about it.

Were you even born when the hillborough disaster happened?

Were you even born when the hillborough disaster happened?

Having seen you have just looked at my profile, you will know that the answer is no.

I fail to see the significance of your post though. Would you care to explain?

People who were born after World War II still come together to remember the dead. Do I have any less right to remember the dead during WWII if I was born in 1950?

People of all ages came to pay their respects at Anfield today. I know people who have seen their best friends die at Hillsborough and lost loved ones.

Only last week I was out in Liverpool with a few friends for a bevvie. We were drinking in the same alehouse as one of my friends dad, I got talking to one of the fellas about the Blackburn match as we were both at the match (I actually go to matches you see), and we got on to talking about the upcoming 20th anniversary of Hillsborough, and he was telling me how he was at Hillsborough but in the main stand rather than The Leppings Lane end, he still cannot talk about it without his eyes welling up with tears.

I know where is Manchester. And Liverpool for that matter. But I'm pretty sure you don't know where is Strasbourg.

And what does Hillsborough have to do in the conversation? :( I never said anything about it. I do respect what happens.

But I'm going to let it go this time, the rivalry between our two clubs isn't over yet. I'll keep pushing it as you will too. ;)

Nice story, however back onto the point fairplay you went to show your respect but "you cried your eyes out"? I don't see the emotional attachment here ... you weren't even born. Do you even go to and furthermore cry at memorial days of 9/11, the major wars, the holocaust etc or do you only value the life of liverpool fans (wouldn't surprise me).

I know Strasbourg is in France, but that is about it. Feel free educate me on your city, I am sure it is a great, and I only want to be friends have banter on here to be honest.

I thought I explained the emotional attachment quite clearly in my last post to be honest.

As for 9/11, if I was directly affected by that awful day I would go to a memorial day for them today respect the dead. I am sure there are many people off Neowin who do so. I also go to memorial days for WWI and WWII, I used to be in the ATC and our squadron used to parade down the road to our local church on Remembrance Sunday. Still, I don't see why I have to justify myself even more to you, I think I have done enough already.

I actually challenge anyone to have gone to Anfield today and not shed a tear or two. I even saw a grown man in an Everton kit crying (it may interest you to know there were lots of Evertonians and Celtic fans present today, I even saw Olympiakos, Middlesborough and Lazio fans...and even saw one lad wearing a Man Utd scarf).

The Hillsborough Disaster was not just limited to Liverpool FC, or even Liverpool. The whole country grieved, and to be honest it could oh so easily be you writing this now, what happened that day could have happened to any football team.

I'm going to stop arguing with you, you just broke all the fun that I had discussing with a Liverpool fan. You are like Martyn, you two can't see clearly outside of your fanboyisme, it's sad. Maybe I had one thought (or a laugh more possibly) for you when we play the semi.

What? seriously, how dense are you, I was trying to pay United a complement here. I see you are french, maybe you need to get a better grasp of the english language before you continue to turn posts into something they are not.

I find this equally amusing:

It is called a typing error. And here is the question I pose to you... Think about it long and hard, what you may find may shock you :o

1: Where where Chelsea before Abramovic came in?

2: Where where they after he came in?

Without his millions they would still be a nothing team, winning the odd FA cup every few years, and every football fan with a brain knows it

Frank was actually saying something nice about your club, as was I before.

At least you understood where I was coming from

Were you even born when the hillborough disaster happened?

What relevance does that have exactly? Hillsborough is an event that has, knowingly or unknowingly had a major effect on every football fan that lives. And unlike United who have the biggest following of glory hunters in the world, Liverpool's fans have a togetherness that is unique, and they are all bonded by the tragedy, whether they where alive for it or not, it is something that affects us all.

Is there something wrong with you? Martyn just happens to feel passionately the sadness felt by all Liverpool fans over the death of the 96. In case you hadn't noticed he is from Liverpool meaning it has a big impact. The way you are reacting here, and lambasting other people says you are the one with emotional detatchment issues, not Martyn. Go away, re-evaluate what is making you such a miserable and heartless person then come back.

I thought I explained the emotional attachment quite clearly in my last post to be honest.

You weren't directly affected, don't get me wrong i'm not having a go at you for going to hillsborough moreover you were using it as a excuse in reply to nothuman and if you can't even bear to watch football after the memorial why come in this thread where things were going to be obviously said especially with the ridiculous stuff said by Frank Fontaine. Once again I apologise if you took what I said as an attack at you for going to hillsborough.

    • What pushed me away from edge was the massive enshitification, constantly adding more and more bloat. Coupled with the constant changes in UI, and especially in the settings. Want to change the default search from Bing to whatever, you would have use search to know the three places to go and change. Then 6 months down the road, the Edge settings area gets a major update/change and doing the same task, changing the default search is now moved to three new locations. This never stops. They do this in Azure and its so insanely irritating. I am a huge OneNote user and they have effed it up so many times in the last 5 years....same for Outlook. People walk away from Microsoft products out of exhaustion.
    • Mac does nothing of the sort. You can change the default browser very easily it does not nag you and when you do this, it does not open something still in Safari....like Windows does with Edge.
    • I do not remember anything happening to Apple and Google for bribing people not to make Apps for Windows Phone. Edge barley has a foot print to matter. If the other browser companies want more of the Pie, they need to do better. I use Brave on all my personal device. However in industry, Edge of default, as we can manage it easier with MS tools.
    • On the one hand, it shouldn't be difficult. You buy a computer, you decide what OS you want, which browser etc. Simple enough. But that's the techie side of things. My sister, my mother, wouldn't bother with such a thought. And I'm pretty sure that if you presented a window asking them what to pick they would say, "I don't care! I just want to access my Email!"
