[Official] New Xbox Experience (or Fall 2008 Update)

Recommended Posts

Please tell me this isnt just me. I keep getting an error saying the xbox cant retrieve the information from live. Nothing has changed in my network and the only difference is the NXE. While i love the NXE i currently cant watch videos, browse demos because i keep getting an error.

Anybody else getting this or am i on the phone to MS?

I am really loving this update. Everything feels much more fluid and nicer to use. Bringing up the guide while in game seems quicker too.

Maximum Error. Everyone seems to be getting that error right now, including me so you don't need to call MS, it'll just be the LIVE servers getting overloaded.

Hey how the hell do you redeem codes? I have all my codes from GoW2 but cannot find where to enter them. I am also trying to submit my 48hr code so I can play online today. My subscription expired and dont get paid till tomorrow.... Please help :)

on the guide go to marketplace, it should be there.

Damn, I wish netflix was available in the UK.

Well hopefully down the road Netflix will expand to other territories. Or maybe another service will come along like Netflix specifically for European countries. I really wish you guys were able to get Netflix for this reason :(

Here is my avatar! I am one serious looking dude. :sleep2:

Although I installed my game to the hard drive, the DVD drive still seems to be spinning . What gives?

I think by running off the HDD, the chances of an RROD are reduced, as there is lesser heat output when the drive is not active.

Just noticed a very, very nice change.

When your downloading more than one thing and somethings in queue to download, it shows what's currently downloading so you know where you're at in the download list.

One other question :D How do I set my profile to automatically sign in when I turn on my 360?

Press the guide button, click your gamertag, go down to Auto-Sign In and bam!

New update is amazing and sleek. I love the avatar thing and how you can take the picture of him/her. I will most def be messing around with it more when I get home for sure.

Hmm I must be missing something because it is not giving me that option at all.... After I sign out I goto the guide button but nothing is there for auto sign in did this while logged in as well....

EDIT: Got it LMAO :p

I really how you could delete the games with 0 gamerscore makes my gs status look a lot better because of all the trial games I had before Microsoft fixed that issue. Also, I really want to try the new "Party" feature later today that looks like loads of fun.

Also, how if you look at your games you can see the downloadable content, achievements, and all that good stuff easily.

Oh God.

Kingdom of Keiflings just finished downloading and I'm already addicted to it.

I just hope it's not a very short game in the full game.

This caught my eye as I like The Settlers (PC strategy game).

Please tell us how long it lasts when you're done :)

The day I got my 360 I downloaded a few trailers of Halo 3. Ever since then, my account has Halo 3 as a game that I have played, but got 0 achievements for. I'll be glad to remove that and Battlefield 2 :D

Are you sure you're playing it from the HDD and not the Disc? The DVD drive should only spin up for a couple seconds at first to check if the disc is actually there, then it should spin down and be silent as the game plays off the HDD. There still will be some fan noise, but that is barely noticeable now.

It lasts just long enough to drag you into the game and make you want more.

It's such a fun little game. It's like you have to assemble the town's buildings like they're a puzzle.. and it's strangely addictive.

The music is absolutely fantastic.

I'm waiting for the hype to die down so I can buy more points so I can buy it.

Add me to your list if you wanna play when/if you get it.

Did I mention the music?

I've got it going in the background while I type this post.

Trial is totally worth downloading.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
    • CPPC states can also be messed around with in most UEFI settings but aren't as robust as the ones that the Windows Scheduler can provide! Make sure you look into what your motherboard also has before customizing for the Windows Scheduler.
