ah teh gaf, only a step away from the cesspool that is 4chan.

Why do you visit that place AB?

Big community = good balance of neutral chat for all consoles, although more fanboys as well unfortunately, however lots of developers stop by to chat with everyone also, you don't get that many places.

And some of the stuff like the above actually makes me laugh

Take the Demons Souls thread on NeoGAF for example, over 100 pages of people who like the game talking about it, on Neowin, I've probably posted about 65% of the posts in that 6 page topic or whatever it is.

Well it definitely has more PS3 activity than Neowin so I have no doubt there Demon Souls thread would be a lot bigger. Just like if I'm asking questions that go unanswered here I go straight to the GameFAQ boards.

Then why are you still here? :p

I'm not allowed to be part of 2 communities?

I registered on GAF in December 2008, only recently had my account approved. Account approval times are sloooooow.

Mystic is right though, the PS3 community on Neowin is pretty dead, more Xbox gamers here so when it comes to something like Demons Souls, which is a PS3 game AND an imported game, I ain't got much chance of discussion on here :p

You're always going to get a closer knitted community on a site like this though compared to GAF where there is literally "too many members". So Neowin > GAF, I ain't going anywhere!

I just registered on the site and have an account but you're saying I won't get approved for months? Are there only those three sections on the forum? I'm just wondering because everything seems so cluttered with that many members.

Well it's completely random, just depends on your luck. Registrations get hand approved every so often, there was an influx of new members just recently. Might only need to wait a week or two, might need to wait months.

So yeah, one of the bad things about GAF, everything is just lumped in together.

I've played the Dark Corners deleted scene - both ways; stealth and guns blazing. Big let down - pretty dull only takes about 20 minutes each.

I've also done a couple of the Horde achievements already I can honestly say that I will not be purchasing this when it comes out on Tuesday, I am seriously disappointed with it. I'm very glad that my friend had a code for a review of it and we did split screen, I think that I will finish the rest of the Horde achievements on split screen once more people have the game next week and finally call it a day with this game!

Wow, all the content looks amazing and hearing that makes me cry. Maybe it's because of the price but all of it just looks beautiful and much more thought out. I don't really care for the Delete Scene but I do want the 7 new maps.

lol why would you need to purchase it when you already played it? It's worth the maps which I don't have. I'm getting it tonight! :D

^^ Yes.

I bought Dark Corners. I think about half of the multiplayer maps are rather bland and will probably never want to play again, but there's some good ones on there, too (Nowhere, Allfathers Garden, whatever map starts with an "M"). I actually really enjoyed the deleted scene, too. I have only played the guns a' blazin' style so far, though.

Sneak is very cool aswell. You can see the Locusts smell the air if you are near.

Yup sign ups are strict over there to just stop the constant flow of fanboys and trolls. Good luck keeping hold of your account for long too.

After 210 posts I got banned for saying some new game concept would need hd graphics :/

    • If they ever come out and say the AI is no longer accessible to the gen pop people aren't going to know how to tie their own shoelaces.
    • It's hard not to when they are shoehorning Ai into EVERYTHING. Some are active users by choice, I bet a lot of them are because it's shoved in their face the entire time.

    • Nearly half of American adults now use AI, but concerns are also growing by Hamid Ganji Since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, the way people research, get their news, and perform routine tasks has changed dramatically. Now, almost everything around us has a touch of AI, and companies are trying to embed it into nearly every product and service they offer. With that in mind, new research shows how Americans are actually adopting this change and using AI in their everyday lives. According to new research conducted by the Pew Research Center, 49% of American adults now use AI chatbots like ChatGPT or Gemini. This marks a significant increase over last year, when only 33% of American adults reported using AI. Additionally, four in ten U.S. adults (42%) said they use AI tools to research information, while 38% said they use these tools to handle tasks at work. Entertainment, image and video editing, and getting medical advice are among the other ways Americans are using AI. Moreover, ChatGPT dominates the U.S. AI market, with 44% of respondents saying they use OpenAI's chatbot. Gemini follows at 24%, while Copilot and Meta AI account for 17% and 14%, respectively. Respondents also said that AI chatbots generally have a positive impact on their productivity and how informed they are. But when it comes to AI’s impact on society, Americans remain largely skeptical. About 40% of American adults believe AI will be more harmful than beneficial to society over the next 20 years. Additionally, 31% expect AI to have a negative effect on them personally. Another 31% of respondents say AI could be equally positive and negative. As for data security, pessimism remains high: 71% of respondents say AI will make their personal information less secure, while only 3% believe it will make their data more secure. American adults also largely lack confidence in both the government and AI companies when it comes to regulating and developing AI. About 67% of Americans have little to no confidence in the U.S. government’s ability to regulate AI effectively. Six in ten adults are also not confident that U.S. companies will develop and use these tools responsibly.
