What is with everyone saying it takes 1000 shots to kill enemies? You guys must have the worst ****ing aim of all time, headshots are one shot kills, aim at the chest and it takes six shots, the legs take over 10 for obvious reasons. Shotguns are one-two shot kills depending on range, so I don't see how this game is any different to most games out now. The only thing that ****es me off is that I don't have enough diamonds for more syrette spots and I keep running out.

Just want to ask what range do you shoot at? I play plenty of FPS games so trust me, my aiming is fine. The muzzle rise is so great in most guns, which is probably where most of the complaints originate from. The excessive muzzle rise can cause people to miss more than they are used too.

look what you just said, most of these enemies do not even have armor. SIX SHOTS TO THE CHEST! (WIth a ****ing heavy machine gun) And head shots are relatively difficult especially in the middle of a crazy firefight. Snipers are the best solution, mostly one hit kill. That said I still really like the game but they need to fix the damage.

Ironically I NEVER run out of Sarettes

Nah I'm not kidding :p World in Conflict run like crap on my PC :( but Crysis runs fine (on low) :/ go figure.

Hmm sounds like you need a fairly beefy GPU to run this game, most of the people reporting the game running well have fairly high end cards...I don't think my lowly 8600GTS would cope with this game, guess I'm skipping it after all :p

no this game is pretty optimized, my 9600gt runs ultra settings, you could run high probably with that (depending on res) btw the 8600gts is the recommended requirement for this game.

Yeah I noticed that, for some reason I wrote that off as a typo :p (as I would of expected a 8800GTS to be the recommended card). Well I might get it now.

EDIT: Scatch that, I will get it :) I've decided to just upgrade my graphics card in the next month or so (planning on getting a GTX 260, as I've heard others with the same PC as me run it no worries, I was hesitant about it for a while but decided in the end sometimes you just gotta do it rather then spend an eternity thinking too much about it )

Having problems running this properly, but its not the video, its the sound.

I cant hear any reload animations, phone conversations (the phone ringing either) and other sound anomalies. Also, if an NPC is talking, I can only hear them in either the right or the left channel only (depending where my crosshair is).

I'm using it with an Audigy SE on vista x32. Any thoughts?

It really takes the fun out and has made it unplayable for me.

Noone?

About the game, I'm bored already. They try to up the realism yet in certain areas all realism goes out the window. Go into a cease fire area and sneak up an enemy on his own and knife him. The whole town comes after you. Must be some physic ability I don't know about.

And I echo the thoughts about an enemy taking too long to kill. 2/3 shots to the head and nearly a whole clip to the torso.

Doubt I will be playing this game for much longer, mainly due to the above mentioned sound issue.

Multiplayer definitely takes some getting used to but I can really see myself getting into it :woot:

Awesome game!

Me too as there is effectively loads of maps, due to map editor, I just hope custom made levels get popular to play, and not just between friends.

I'm struggling to understand why this game is getting such great reviews. The repetition is awful (driving through the same goddamn checkpoints at every intersection with the same jeep ramming me from behind), the AI is bad, the story is nonexistent (I thought I was supposed to be looking for this Jackal guy), I have to trample all over the place for 1 piddly diamond at a time, and I spend the vast majority of the game driving through the above frustrations. Plus the previously-mentioned problems with the cease-fire area and the confusing directional sounds.

Hopefully they'll fix these issues in the next game, which would make this a great FPS. But for now, they obviously made a deal with PC Gamer for those wonderful pre-release reviews.

Rust bucket with weeds and a plastic ant? Awesome (N)

And you are right, you'd have to be a mental to have that sitting in your room and actually enjoy having it.

Yet it's awesome for people who play games out doors in their back garden :p

Just got the game an hour or so ago, anyone having problems playing it? I get ill and feel claustrophic after playing for a while. After a bit of searching I found that it was down to a fudge the devs made in order to play in Widescreen and as such the FOV is too low, probably what is making me feel ill :(

Other sites are now posting this news too, so why wasn't it mentioned in any of the reviews as its pretty obvious when playing :(

Just alliveated a lot of my driving issues. I take the bus all the time now. It is so useful you just have to remember to use it. :p

boogerjones, not sure why you are complaining so much. In GTA you have to drive everywhere (especially IV) halfway across the map or use taxis, same principle here (just a bus). I'm glad in Far Cry 2 we have an indicator for diamonds instead of NOTHING in GTA IV for finding pigeons. Yes the diamonds give you money per say while the pigeons give you nothing, but I'm sure you could still get through the game without when missions give 10 or 10+ usually.

    • Rockstar confirms Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders begin next week, unveils cover art by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The release date of Grand Theft Auto VI has moved quite a lot since its original announcement in 2023, but it finally looks like the game has found its final launch slot. Rockstar today had a new video upload on its YouTube channel, and while it wasn't a new trailer for the game, the company revealed two things. This was the pre-order kickoff date for Grand Theft Auto VI as well as the game's official cover art. The company revealed that June 25 is when fans of the series will be able to pre-order their copy of Grand Theft Auto VI. Pre-orders will be available both digitally and in retail stores. The newly unveiled cover art shows off the two new protagonists, as well as a few more characters that are probably vital to the campaign storyline. Shots of vehicles players can use like a light helicopter, motorcycle, sports car, and speed boat are also seen here, alongside a shot of a crocodile. "Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them," says Rockstar describing the campaign's protagonist duo. "But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive." Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on November 19, 2026. A PC version has not been confirmed yet, though it's expected by many to land after the console release. When asked about this, the Take-Two CEO says it considers the core audience for the Grand Theft Auto franchise to be on consoles.
