Expert seriously is the only way how to play.

The AI Director threw two smokers two boomers four hunters, one tank and one witch at us tonight..in ONE campaign.

We got thrashed.

Thats weak! i was playing just expert only last night, we actually had 2 tanks and a smoker in the very first drop into the apt. Tried for 2 hours to beat it, never did. Was the hardest match ever. Basically ever room would throw 2 hunters and a smoker at us. Most fun ive had though in a game for a long time.

anyone know how a ati 3450 compares to a ati 9600 or x1600 (the minimum and recomended spec) i would like to get this on the pc but im not sure if my graphics card is fast enough, the rest of my pc is above the reccomended specs

The HD 3450 and Radeon 9600 are just about on-par with each other. However, the Radeon X1600 is best out of the three. You'll need a pretty beefy video card to enjoy the game at high resolutions. I doubt an HD 3450 will cut it at a decent resolution (i.e. 1280x1024).

I am playing on my 9600GT PC with 2GB Ram and Opteron 180 Oced at 3GHz at Max Settigns with 1080p Resolution and 4x AA and 8x Aniso. It plays smooth as baby's butt.

It's an interesting game but I think I'll lose interest in it quite fast. I just don't see the appeal... It's quite repetitive, and the so called AI is not so advanced. I mean, you can go and shoot some of the zombies in the dark and they would not respond to your shots at all.

I just dont think this game is worth the full price, I'll buy it when it goes down to $19.90 which I think it's a fair price for it.

Cheers

They're zombies they are not exactly supposed to eb that intelligent, and usually when I shoot them after 1 or 2 go down the whole horde comes flying at me.

That's what they like you to think ;)

i found a good strat is to have 1 guy always watch the rear, 2 others watch the front with guns, and the 3rd is the pushbacker, who stands inbetween everyone, and shoots zombies, but is mianly there to keep the bunch off of the team. works really well, as long as the pusher can do his job properly.

If only I had 50$....

I totally disagree on how they went with matchmaking. More lag and less customization, exactly opposite of what the Source engine was built around!! I do have to give it to VALVe on the graphics though. This looks thrice that of the old EP1 engine build!

Long live Source! I love how VALVe always takes into consideration of older computers. You may run in Directx 7 mode by simply putting "-dxlevel 70" (80 for 8.0, 81 for 8.1, 90 for 9.0 ect ect). VALVe has sucessfully created one of the most versatile engines ever!

I just wish I could get the game now, it looks awesome! Unfortunatey, I don't have enough money to add it to my collection just yet, I'm going to wait for a price drop (which will happen on Steam ;) ). Time to get a job and a new computer, anyone have any ideas of work for a 14 year old?

Those damn Smokers when they're properly placed by the AI director can really scare the ever living bajebus out of you.

We got one at the top of the HOTEL sign last night and it nabbed one of my friends and I swear I've never heard him squeal like a little girl until now.. we all burst up laughing after we killed it but he didn't find it funny.. he was honestly scared out of his mind.

I've turned off the film grain effect in the game for my settings as it seems to detract from the game and bothers me a whole lot, and now my game is running a helluva lot more smooth. I'm seriously putting this on my Christmas or birthday list. :)

Anyone have any ideas of work for a 14 year old?

Mow lawns, do chores, help little old ladies, etc.

ahh, the film grain is great. they made it just right i feel. I tried without it, but it just seemed sort of bland. With it on, it makes it a tad creepier.

The smokers are great though. nothing better than thinking you wiped all the zombies out, your the last one, picking someone up, then a tongue lassos you and everyone watches and laughs as we all know our doom.

Apparently there is going to be a rating system, so if you tk or whatever too much it will look bad. I dont like that idea too much though. I get on with friends, and we do expert, but try and make it as insane as possible. So hitting car alarms is a must, and friendly fire is just needed help for the zombie team. :p

I'll agree that it makes it creepier.. which is odd considering it's just an effect, but when it runs better over-all on my system without that effect running?.. That effect and that effect alone turned off made a HUGE difference.. ?

It might of been a placebo effect due to the fact I'd just cold rebooted my machine for the first time in two weeks but it just seemed smoother and my processor didn't seem to struggle nearly as much.

I'd rather run the game without it. :)

i really didnt notice any change in performance. I tried everything, and amazingly , on an athlon 2400xp and 2 gigs of 400 ddr ram and a 7800gs agp card, i can run this game High everything on 1280x960 and still keep in the 20 fps during intense fights. Runs soo much smoother than team fortress or css or even single player HL2. Maybe its due to not having as many IPs bouncing around and messing with lag, but just runs so great.

Played the 360 demo. It was alright, I was expecting more from it though. I never once got surprised. It just seemed like a fast-paced shooter. Not worth ?40 by any stretch of the imagination imo.

Play with friends, and play on Expert.

There is no point in solo play or any other play that is not on expert mode. This game is insanly fun on expert with friends. But its really the expert mode that makes it so insane. When the zombies are actually a threat, and even the smallest group can mean certain death, its just crazzzzy.

Yea co-op is fine for some time but the most fun should be in the 4 vs. 4 mode. I cant wait until servers on Steam change the number of people that can play so we can go past four people on a team.

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
