"Got my girlfriend to model for my car"

thats something an ugly person would say.

either way, we arent actually making fun of "her". We said she was a mentally strong person (she would have to be) and other nice stuff about her personally. we're just makin fun of what she obviously thought would be, or was funny as well.

No, I am making fun of her...

hahahaha

She would have to be mentally EPIC to put up with all this. A joke is a joke, but now half the internet knows about it - its now unfair.

Or maybe, just maybe, his definition of attractive is different from yours. Maybe he defines attractiveness as something far more than just skin deep, and to him she is very beautiful. But hey, that can't possibly be the explanation, unless we were talking about a whole other universe or something where everything is backwards

I may not find her attractive either, but damn, most of these replies astound me (those in the original thread included). I wouldn't tear her or him down just because of the way she looks. That's absolutely disgusting. But hey, the inherent anonymity of the internet makes it okay, right?

It's like being back at school isn't it? Where your only value is based on looks and wearing the correct clothes. Where someone who doesn't conform to what the media and your friends and your porn say is "beautiful" and worthy of "respect" does not deserve any diginity and is open to cruelty and bullying. Lame. Of course, there is one big difference here. When you bully someone face to face you usually have to deal with the consequences in at least some form instead of hiding behind your keyboard.

People will be people. This is the internet. I find it surprising that you'd generalize Neowin over a single thread.

I don't. This thread is entirely predictable and I've seen similar reactions from the more juvenile members plenty of times.

EVERYONE read my previous post in this thread. The guy is not her BF. He admitted it was a joke in a hidden message in his 2nd set of pics, and then again later on in the thread. No idea where he got the pics from to begin with though.

What the second guy who had pics of her?

I don't know. I only read about a quarter of the thread. I don't know if they say later on where they got the pics or not. I wasn't about to read every post in the thread, even thought it's hilarious sh^t

Sometimes I wonder the direction humanity is going with comments such as these...

Scirwode

Sometimes I wonder the direction humanity is going with comments such as these...

I believe it's an epic direction

Whether or not this is a prank, I'd say it's a solid one that has made her famous within a few days, and because she's strong she doesn't mind all the attention so it's good for us too :p

    • I can name 10x that on why not to switch.... It's funny outlook/office are going towards web app wrappers, and then MS is now preaching native apps again.... ugh can we just pick a lane and stay in it
    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
