1 gig (512x2) crucial pc2700. I would recommend anyone running winXP should have 512 if possible (money, current memory config, etc..) 256 would be bare min.

to answer the question directly and not tell you how much ram i have instead..

I prefer at least 512mb of RAM when running XP.

i have one with a gig, and one with 448 (256+128+64)

dude you would be a lot better off if you took out the 128 and 64....it slows you down a lot because of the swapping from different sticks

1048Mb (512 + 512). ironically, i heard too much RAM is not nescessary and has the potential to slow your overall speed down.

i would honestly recommend 512 maximum. you don't need any more, i normally use 300 - 400Mb RAM once i have several (10 to 15) windows open with relatively large programs.

I love hearing how people are running a GB or two of memory on their systems. Especially mac users =p

I would love for someone to show me information that this is in fact necessary and productive instead of overkill/spec whoring.
