Bear Grylls Injured After Antarctic Fall

Recommended Posts

if you ever watched the show, it even states at the beginning that there is a camera crew with him, and they do as they must to actually survive. It would be stupid to even think the camera crew would go through the same as him.

Also, apparently if its on TV it must all be true huh? If his shirt is blue, and they give it a red tent, oh noes the lies. Seriously, he does stuff that would kill probably all of us if we tried it. Want to call him a fraud, do it to his face. To do it on an online forum and think you are better than him is just a joke. Seriously, if there is beef with him and you want to get it out, go up to him and say it. Challenge him to surviving something. But you better back up what you are trying to tear down with something substantial; not a "he slept in a hotel for 1 night instead of toughing it through -20c temps."

It's TV, not something smart people will risk their lives for.

Bear Grylls is trying to each tourists and travelers how to survive in certain life threatening and/or dangerous situations, not a test of how long he can survive.

Who cares if he sleeps in or out, he could be saving a human life and then the show was all worth it.

i used to think wrestling was real to...o and the tooth fairy is real btw :)

Um, what?

Seriously, are you actually trying to make yourself sound stupid?

You're doing well if so.

survivor man ftw !!!!

did you watch the special when him and that guy were going to set the record for paragliding over everest? the safety crew warned him multiple times that he should not attempt the stunt and he ignored their answer and insisted that they still go for the attempt...so you cant say that he is all about safety

the guy in survivor man does take a lot more punishment, but I dont respect him more for it. I have equal respect for what they can both do, and how they are trying to help others with that knowledge.

Audio, i think his statement was more aimed at those who seemed to be hurt by finding out that Bear's show wasnt all real. Sort of like the crushed child who finds out santa wasnt real. Nothing to be mad at, just accept what reality really is.

And your point?

snipped

My point is he loses credibility from his show being staged a majority of the time. I never said he was fake, I said his SHOW was. Nor did i ever say i was striving for a tv show where people are about to die. You seem to love Bear as you have filled 9 pages up defending him. Good for you. I would rather watch Surviroman, whom is more credible. Like i said his show was created for ratings.

Yeah, he pushes himself and takes many risks.

Taking risks doesn't exactly mean he doesn't care about safety. Many records/challenges and human tests need a form of risk to pull off.

The fact a camera crew and medical supplies follow him around is for his own safety.

I'm not. That's your job, no?

Stop insulting people?

You're the one telling me what to do

I'm trying to help you so you're not banned.

If you want to keep insulting people, then fine go ahead. Looks like I was wrong earlier about giving you the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully you're banned (Y)

well this thread got out of hand and quick.

Its actually not that out of hand. People are just trying to back up their opinions which i can respect. Minus a few insults, its rather constructive

What's that got to do with anything?!

i agree, haha

basically what im trying to say is that from multiple sources that i have seen around the web, i do mean multiple, bear grylls does now lead by example as he should in his show....someone like les stroud has proven that he is a leader....if he pulls out for safety then you know it...on bears show its edited off like a blip into oblivion

    • I have a TV, but it is not used for normal linear TV, only streaming and it is not a Samsung and the best bit is, I don;'t and never have had a Instagram account. The only thing I have to do with Meta is Faceache and I only keep that just for the messaging part.
    • But building your own.. what? You can't build anything like the Steam Machine yourself. Even trying to get close costs a good deal more. Even just the CPU cooler in their price comparison is as big as the entire Steam Machine. If you want a regular gaming PC, then by all means, build that. If you want a a small console-like PC for the living room that is good for gaming, I'm not sure what else is a better deal. In the GN review, they only mentioned a small form factor Dell, which is like twice the size and hundreds of dollars more expensive.
    • Those are some popular multiplayer games. But hardly "all". Just those that don't work on Linux currently due to specific anti-cheat implementations. I think it's also fair to point out the literally thousands of games that don't work on the PS5. And it's not locked at 1080p. That's the default, which you can change.
    • Ubuntu Livepatch arrives on Arm64 to eliminate system reboots for kernel updates by Paul Hill Canonical has just announced that its Livepatch service now supports computers with Arm64 processors. For those who are not familiar, Livepatch allows users to apply important kernel updates without any service interruption or rebooting. While home users will benefit from this, it’s even more important for critical machines that absolutely should not be going offline at all. The feature is available as part of Ubuntu Core 26 for Arm64 and Ubuntu Core 20 and onwards for AMD64. According to Canonical, this will improve the security of systems that aren’t security-maintained daily or weekly, and it helps organizations work towards Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance. If you are familiar with Ubuntu, you probably know that most packages can be updated without having to restart the system. There is one big exception to this, and that’s the kernel; it typically requires you to reload the system to boot into the new kernel. With Livepatch, Canonical has done something so that you don’t need to restart to begin using the new kernel. Aside from Ubuntu Core 26, users with Arm64 chips running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS can also use Livepatch. If you want to learn more about Livepatch, check out its product page. There, you can also find a button to join Ubuntu Pro (it’s free for several home devices) so that you can enable Livepatch. By linking your computer to Ubuntu Pro, you will also extend the life of your Ubuntu install from five years to ten years. If you are running Ubuntu, let us know in the comments if you have been looking forward to this feature on your ARM-based computer. If you’ve had a compatible AMD64 machine for a while and never used this feature, let us know why in the comments!
