Bear Grylls Injured After Antarctic Fall

Recommended Posts

Bear Grylls is richer than all of you! So keep talking smack.

wonder where the money came from.....suckers who oogle at his "survival show"? ;)

bear just needs to man up...tell us that he does take some shortcuts in the name of safety and then we can all live happy..dont hide it to look good

I'm trying to help you so you're not banned.

If you want to keep insulting people, then fine go ahead. Looks like I was wrong earlier about giving you the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully you're banned (Y)

Need I remind you about the sarcasm you mocked me with earlier in this thread?

I hardly think it's very nice to go around hoping I'm banned, when I never said anything of the sort to you. Why would you hope someone gets banned?

What a train wreck of a thread, I'll not be taking part any more in here if people want to post crap and try to moderate.

Hope Bear recovers soon (Y)

Article .... THIS. IS. BEAR GRYLLS!

My sarcasm has nothing to do with the insults you are dishing out to others. Along with that I already explained to you I won't be warned over a joke. You will over an insult though. Regardless if it makes you act out, it should be the moment you walk away from the computer and stop posting in the manner you are.

Keep passing the buck though (Y)

Bear Grylls is trying to each tourists and travelers how to survive in certain life threatening and/or dangerous situations, not a test of how long he can survive.

Who cares if he sleeps in or out, he could be saving a human life and then the show was all worth it.

There lies the problem. Bear is in suck great shape and coupled with the fact that he has the support people with him allows him to take risks and perform physical tasks that would kill or injure (which in a survival situation = kill) 99% of people. For example jumping off a cliff into a pool of water, climbing into a crevice or running down a slope. The average tourist would die trying to do some of his stuff.

I believe his show to be primarily entertainment and that is okay. We need and like entertainment just fine. Educational though it is probably not so much.

Nah, I think he definitely aims his show more at hikers and such. It's not like someone's going to wander out of Wal-Mart and end up in the rain forest with no food or shelter. If you're a hiker, and you get in trouble, Bear Gryll's show might help you. It's also for the entertainment of average people though, to see him go to those extremes to survive.

It's a documentary... essentially. He tells you a few basic things about survival. And his credit is legit. He was in the special forces or whatever. I think if I were to be stranded on an island with Bear or anyone on this forum, I'd choose Bear. Simple as that.

Would that be the same island where he stayed in a motel?

I've always seen Bear Grylls shows as nothing more than entertainment, with a little education thrown in. Most of what he shows you'd NEVER remember as your brain is too busy focusing on the fact that he just ran down the side of a mountain or something equally silly.

If you want a show that actually TEACHES you the skills, especially how to light fires and forage for food, watch something like Ray Mears Bushcraft... All the info you need, without the dodgy stunts. Also, Ray always make it clear he has a crew with him, and that they take the right gear. Bear tends to not mention that stuff and so when the truth actually came out, he lost a lot of face.

LOL @ the digg comments.

what'd he fall off the hotel bed?
I heard this is the last season of Survivorman. The Discovery Channel needs to do a Les vs Bear special. Drop them in the same environment with the same materials and see who hang the longest before calling it quits

My money is on Les

I'm pretty sure Bear would win, unless the hotel runs out of hot water.

    • It's expensive, but I bet it will still sell out just like the Steam Deck and the Steam Controller
    • This is listed as a preview in WU for me. I usually don't grab them as previews; what's your opinion on it so far?
