Are we trying to buy the cup?? No, anyone who knows Hockey knows it has to be earned on the ice.? However, I am building the team to the best of my ability to win right now...why?? I get paid to win right now, this year.? I don't get paid to win in three years, in three years I'll still be building the team to win right now.? It's a simple concept and it's worked for us, and many other teams, many times over. -- Ken Holland (GM Detroit Red Wings)

I wasted #2000 on this post, can you fathom t;)t? ;)

You truly have amused me.

Your buying the cup comment is down right laughable.

Took a look at the New York Rangers lately?  They try to buy the cup every year yet continue to not even make the play-offs...  Go figure huh?  Yet you can take a team like Detroit where the players take LESS (GASP!) money to come and play for (Brett Hull / Cujo / Hasek are three examples) and say they attempt to buy the cup.

Now, about the rookies.  Henrik deserves rookie of the year, even the anti-Detroit press has said that.  Pavel is still one of the hottest young players around, until the playoffs he was part of the hottest line in hockey (as stated tonight on ESPN), infact on review that line included Zetterberg as well.

Fischer is a very well noticed D-Man who has been given extremely good reviews for his age by the media and some members of the NHLPA have gone so far to say he could be the next Chris Chelios in a few years.

The fact we have a lot of Canadians on the team is pointless, you could say that about any team in the league.  Hell, 10 years ago you could have said we had a lot of Russians.

Yzerman is a Hockey Legend and a Born Leader...  Your point?

As for the Ducks, they are a one shot wonder.  Remember the Hurricanes?  :: LOL ::  How quickly you forget, they were the hottest team in the NHL in the playoffs yet Detroit came along and slapped them right back to the place they belonged, the bottom.  If Detroit doesn't do it to the Ducks, Dallas or Colorado will.

As for bulling people around, oh, why should I?  It's so much more fun to get them to admit they are a clueless wannabe. ;)

:: gives the little troll a cookie just for making her laugh and, at it's own advice, sends it back under the bridge ::

:woot:

Funny how immature you are that you take out your team's loss on an internet forum...glad you feel tough...that is wonderful. Now to your bull shiat.

Detroit and NYR both are pathetic for doing what they are doing.

The rookies on detroit are good...and NEVER turn out the way you expect them to; This is a well known fact, knowing the game VERY well I can tell you that with ease.

Hull is a hockey great wannabe; he has one shot and no moves, and is in the right place in the right time...he claimed he was the smartest player in the NHL earlier in the year, and deserves 5 shots to the left cheek bone for what he said. 20% of the league knows more than he does, let alone he plays in the same league as Lemieux; perhaps one of the smartest in the history of the game. Par example: Olympic goal, gold medal game; vs. usa...lets it pass through his legs to paul, causing ricter to be unable to transport his schooled ass across the blue paint to the open net. perhaps the single best play in the game ever.

Yzerman owns you. and me. and everyone. Your point? I was stating mine. that he owns.

as for your one shot wonder theory; some teams out play other teams, sometimes they gel well at a certain time in the year, for the hurricanes that was the 2nd half of last season, into the playoffs, but got tired and lost to detroit.

Anaheim is gelling well and I wouldn't be suprised to see them 2 rounds from now.

Clueless wanabe? I am a wannabe of what? Your cut-and-paste stats off espn? yeah....I would much rather excel at the game as I do then live through someone else thanks.

Talk to newline about your troll idea...after LOTR perhaps they will make your little movie too.

My point has been proven, and that is all I care about...I understand yours, and that is all you care about: Detroit is most likely going to be golfing by friday; or coming home and attending leafs games!! Their players are good yet old, but the team is not playing like they can.

Yes they are trying to buy the cup. He gets told by owners they want seats filled, buy the best talent you can, even though they can't seem to play well together.

Ken Holland is buying for now and failing. -- Unique (GM Detroit Red Wings)

Detroit != hockey town. :yes:

and forum bullies == boring.

I will take the hostility of your posts for reasons of your team losing, as I would react the same way...and did so friday night.

anyways, night and peace and love, I just have a huge beef with detroit.

First off, let me give you a friendly warning... While you may feel you're being funny, you are bordering on a violation of the rules. Watch yourself.

Now, onto the response.

Your thoughts, you have no basis aside from envy of the Wings (Most likely also of the Rangers) so you feel the need to say they are pathetic. You'd welcome Detroits 'Old Men' to your team any day and you know it, deny it all you want but you'd be foolish otherwise.

Lets see some proof on that rookie claim please. I doubt you've got any because the statement itself is assanine. :p

Hull a Hockey Great Wannabe? You just showed yourself to be entirely clueless. You don't put up Hull's numbers and be a 'Wannabe.' You might want to silently excuse yourself from this thread before you get more than just me on you for stupid comments like that.

We will see, but either the Wings will slap the Ducks back down to LA's level where they belong or it will be done by someone who isn't making fools out of themselves...

What are you a wannabe of? You are a wannabe forum troll with dillusions of Hockey knowledge. Your comments can be proven time and time again by EXPERTS (You know, people who get paid for this stuff) to be nothing more than mindless dribble.

As for your point? Given you didn't have one to start with I suppose it has been made.

Anything further on this, send it PM unless you feel you can show sources and give experts to back up your claims. Otherwise, I'll be forced to consider it, as I said before, trolling for a response.

PS: Don't spam in the future, keep it in one or two posts. Thanks!

I wouldn't want those old men on my team, because they would be gone in 2 years...hardly an investment.

So you seem to think that EVERY rookie who has had potential to be great has been so? This in it selft proves your knowledge of hockey is stricktly on that of which you paraphrase from others.

I said that Hull is in the right place @ the right time, he is lucky he has had the teammates he did.

As for my comments...they have been proven by NO ONE to be false...what deems a person an expert? Simply because they get paid doesn't make them an expect...please

Yzerman is great...that was/is my point. I don't hate the players...just the admin.

As far as sources...I am sorry, but knowing the game myself, I need no sources...I can state the truth, as I know the game very well; when have I given false stats? I haven't, I state what I THINK, which is what hockey analysts get paid to do; your so called experts, they are calling it as they see it too, yes I went off on a bit of a wild tangent, but there is a lot of truth in what I have said. ie. rookies are do not always develop the way you want; bret hull is good, i mean look at his pops...plus he learned the game in canada, so I will give him that.

Sorry about the miulti-posts, but it is not spam I assume you that was unintentional.

Anyways, lets get back to watching hockey and drinking beers.

whatever you think, i believe you were (and still are) forcing your opinions on somebody else and cara's arguments were more valid. sorry for me stating my own opinion.

i am not forcing my opinion on anyone, i am simply stating my opinion. If I wasn't so hostily attacked I would have said nothing.

My comment on Detroit was not only accurate and true, but in good taste and not to put anyone down...

what's that then? you're saying what you think IS the truth. you weren't saying "in my opinion blah blah blah..." you were saying "blah blah blah and that IS RIGHT".

AND everything you say is biased. you think canadian players are the only good players. i hardly call that "knowing the game very well"

there it is again. what you were saying IS YOUR OPINION. it's NOT THE TRUTH. say what you want, but i'm not "ass kissin", i'm simply stating what i believe. i wouldn't stoop so low to kiss ass, alright? i won't side with a mod just to kiss his/her ass like you would. i side with a mod if i support his/her opinion.

and i'm gonna quit arguing with you cuz it's useless to try and get it through your head.

damn, i wish i had time to read all that :p

i'll try to catch up tomorrow.

my .02: the core of the wings is past their prime. yeah, they have some good talent, dhatsuk amazes me every game, but the 5 guys you mentioned aren't the guys who are meant to carry the team.

when it comes to hockey, i don't think the U.S. is considered a powerhouse, we definitely don't put out the players that the rest of the world does.

keep in mind i didn't get to read any of the last 2 pages, so don't be offended if anythign i said was off topic. i'm sure i'll have more to say tomorrow :)

have some faith in the wings...you people shouldn't call yourselves wings fans if you are embarassed, they won a few cups in recent years, and that isn't enough? not every team can win a cup for 100 years straight ya know. i wouldn't mind seeing the ducks sweep, though the wings have the talent, its just going into retirement.

lets go devils :D they will be in boston today ;)

for the last time this year...boston has played truly pathetic...the series will be over tonight...

is this an international or a national comp???

this is the playoffs of the NHL (National Hockey League)...the league consists of 30 teams...24 are in the US and 6 are in Canada...the players, however, are from all over the world...a large amount are from canada as well as russia and europe...i suppose it is an international competition as far as the players go, but the teams are all north american...

In my opinion

THE WINGS Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah

Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah

AND THE DUCKS Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah

so in closing :D

GO :star:'s !!!!! :punk:

i went to a couple of stars games over thanksgiving...they won one 5-0 and tied the rangers 3-3 in the other...but i was impressed with the team...i think they have the team to win it all...but i kinda hope they dont...they won it a few years ago...someone new needs to win it...so im gonna have to pull for edmonton in this one

    • Alien Isolation 2 will bring a new protagonist and setting, watch the reveal trailer here by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Only a few weeks ago, Sega and Creative Assembly dropped a teaser for a new Alien Isolation. Today at Summer Game Fest, Alien: Isolation 2 was officially announced with a new trailer while also confirming a whole lot of information about the setting of this survival horror project. Check out the reveal trailer above. Leaving behind the Sevastopol space station, the sequel will take players to a remote colony world. With a Xenomorph (or more) on the loose, players will be navigating both the surface of the weather-ravaged planet as well as "the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station." Interestingly, Creative Assembly is leaving behind Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Alien's Ellen Ripley, as the protagonist too. While it hasn't confirmed a name yet, players will be taking the role of a new character for this new adventure. The setting is also being described as a new hunting ground for the Alien. This will have players improvising and developing new tools to aid in their survival and escape, all to avoid "cinema’s deadliest killer." "It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel," says Al Hope, Creative Director at Creative Assembly. "Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer." Promising the same deadly tension from the original from over a decade ago, Alien: Isolation 2 is in development for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced yet.
