The HP spectre x360 is a superb laptop.

The spectre pro's a good laptops, about the only HP laptops I have found that are not junk.

If you want a good laptop or computer that is built like the macs then the Surface line is the best to go with, I currently have a pro 4 and not had one problem with it at all.

After you spend 3 hours uninstalling the phone home crap they install on it.

Mine came with zero crap installed. I dont think you are familiar with  MS Signature machines.

Asus Zenbook and Sony Vaio laptops(available in limited countries).

Also HP has some high end laptops.

If possible, always reset windows on new laptops to get rid of all the bloatware.

hi again,

many years passed (9 years !) since my last post in this thread.

and I want to buy a new Pc again, so the same question goes again: what are the PCs of premium quality like Mac available these days?

Thanks to all (old repliers, and future ones of course)

Of course, silly me. That must also be why laptops are also mentioned ;)

He didn't mention a laptop in his opening post, nor the refresher post

I don't think I missed something, but what's with the laptop recommendations, I was under the impression the OP was looking towards replacing their desktop...?

K. Make sure you police every other user discussing laptops then.

Thanks!

I could say the same with some of your responses

Please stop the back and forth.  Make recommendations (be it notebook or desktop)...

Obviously a budget would be helpful... to make any meaningful recommendation.  That should be a rule...haha.

Not sure where the OP went anyway.

Ok, done. :)

To get back towards the topic, I personally find it easier to answer specifically within the context of the opening question.

Even I could have thrown in a suggestion for Eurocom Laptops, had the OP asked, I didn't as I differentiate between PC and .book, or hybrid, and so on

If you get them MS Signature style, you avoid 99% of bloat.

There are only two brands that meets the criteria of quality build and great design of a Mac if a laptop PC is concerned. Those are the MS Surface Book series. And the Dell XPS series.

Personally I would get one of those if I ever were to switch to a laptop with Windows installed as the primary OS.

Glad you crossed out only, because that would make your statement false. ASUS and HP both make comparable models as well.

I'm glad too. Don't get me wrong. I forgot about HP Spectre etc. models.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
